Oricon: Golden Week surveys
Sat, April 26, 2008 (2:41am EDT)
Next week is Golden Week in Japan. With that in mind, Oricon conducted a survey of a thousand people, asking them a series of leisure-related questions.
When asked which actress they would want to go to an amusement park with, the respondents chose Aya Ueto as the #1 answer. Yui Aragaki, Masami Nagasawa, Maki Horikita, and Aoi Miyazaki were the next most popular choices.
Given the same question but with actors instead, the survey takers favored Yusuke Kamiji, who is currently popular for his character on "Quiz! Hexagon II" and as part of that show's male trio Shuchishin. Hiroshi Tamaki ranked 2nd, followed by Ryuta Sato, Shun Oguri, and Yusuke Yamamoto.
Not surprisingly, the answers were similar for the next pair of questions, which asked "who would you want to go on a drive with?" For actresses, Yui Aragaki came out on top this time, putting Aya Ueto at #2. Haruka Ayase made the list at #3, ahead of Maki Horikita and Masami Nagasawa. Meanwhile, Hiroshi Tamaki was at the top of the actors' list, again followed by Ryuta Sato and Shun Oguri. Yuta Hiraoka and Kenichi Matsuyama also made the cut.
The last question on the survey asked which song they would want to listen to during a drive. The top five were L'Arc~en~Ciel's "Driver's High," Ketsumeishi's "Drive," Porno Graffiti's "Haneuma Rider," Judy and Mary's "Over Drive," and Yuzu's "Story."

woah! didn't know that the weight loss was for his role in deerman. now that is what i call commitment. he sure is a serious actor. reminds me of how christian bale was in the film machinist. but he immediately gained it back for his role in batman. i hope tamaki gains back the 'lost' weight soon. i wouldn't want him to get sickly. gambatte tamaki-kun.meoinkie2 wrote:madrias wrote:i like him too but i've noticed that he looks gaunt lately. i hope he takes better care of himself and eats more. he looked really good and healthy in the nodame series. i'm sure we want to see more of him in the pink of health.sou da ne..when i watched the NC SP, i was really shocked seeing him, coz it's really evident that he gotten thinner!! fans were really starting to worry about him especially during the time that the Deerman series was being aired..there was an article stating that the reason he suddenly had to lose weight was indeed for his role in Shikaotoko Aoniyoshi..he lost about 8kg..wuff wrote:He was more handsome in NC. even up to now, he still looks skinny to me!! waaaaaa!! really hoping that he wud gain back his old weight..

minna san... is KIDS movie out for seeding yet?
Waratte Iitomo Drama SP is basically a game show with select cast members from some of the upcoming dramas for the next season. They work in teams of each drama and try to earn points with the games they play. Archery is one they play and Tamaki seems to be really good at it Whichever team has the most points at the end of the show, everyone in the team gets a prize. Then within the final seconds of the show usually, the winning team selects one person to try and pull out a table cloth from under some plates/cups, etc on a table hehe. Back in 2006 Juri did it! and This last Waratte Iitomo Drama SP Kimura Takuya did it successfully.
Hi everyone! ^_^ I'm a big fan of Hiroshi Tamaki and I read through all the pages of this thread. Love the pictures that you all posted. I stopped by Kinokuniya Bookstore in SF the other day and as I was about to leave, my eyes caught the magazine 25ans with Hiroshi & Meisa on the cover, and purchased it without hesitating. Thought I'd share the gorgeous scans with all of you (although not the best of quality). If anyone decides to post these on a website, please give credit, that's all I ask. =) And yes I'm the same green_tea from the JDorama forum. I hope to continue contributing goodies and have a wonderful time with all his fans. Now to the pictures!

You're welcome! Yes, it is fine if you post it elsewhere, quality scans are hard to come by especially of Tamaki's. He lost weight for the role in Fantastic Deer Man (Shikaotoko Aoniyoshi) and probably due to his hectic schedule. >_< I hope he will take care and gain back some weight in the following months.

biniBningPunkista - Waterboys is one memorable Hiroshi Tamaki film.
Found this file in my archives, it is Ayumi Hamasaki's talk show "Ayu Ready?" episode 64 with Hiroshi Tamaki as guest, which aired roughly 4 1/2 years ago. Majority of streaming sites didn't have this up so I uploaded the whole show. You can see how much he has changed look-wise and matured as a person. He devours food like in Bistro SMAP, except he doesn't stare off into space and takes awkward angle pictures. I don't want to spoil the rest in case you haven't seen it before. Definitely a must see, sorry no subtitles. Please use HJSplit or FileSJ to join all four parts together when finished downloading. If there is trouble with the links or questions about combining parts, feel free to PM me. Enjoy~

Tamaki is the best in his Chiaki look (but not on the Nodame Cantabile SPs!). He really should gain more weight, because his cheek looks very sunken now -_-
hehehe.. many people do see some resemblance between him and toma even me!! actually when i first saw a pic of Tamaki as chiaki, i thought that he was toma..ryoerika wrote:I'm not sure if anyone agree with me, but is it just me or sometimes he kind of looks like Ikuta Toma. They do look alike, but between the two, Tamaki is far better looking and much more manly. If they were brothers, I'd say Tamaki is the handsome one and Toma the cute one.meoinkie2 wrote:hehehe.. many people do see some resemblance between him and toma even me!! actually when i first saw a pic of Tamaki as chiaki, i thought that he was toma..ryoerika wrote:I'm not sure if anyone agree with me, but is it just me or sometimes he kind of looks like Ikuta Toma. Tamaki sure lost a lot of weight for Shikaotoko Aoniyoshi. His cheeks are so sunken now and he does physically resemble a deer. I think he was already in the process of losing weight during the Nodame Cantabile SP filming. Sure miss the old Chiaki.
hehe..totally agree!! i was hoping for those two to team-up in a drama or so..hanapyupyu wrote: They do look alike, but between the two, Tamaki is far better looking and much more manly. If they were brothers, I'd say Tamaki is the handsome one and Toma the cute one.
i really thought that after his work for the Deerman, he'd regain his old weight back but instead, it's been said that he's lost some more..waaaa!! im still very much hoping that he'd return to his old Chiaki look..Tamaki sure lost a lot of weight for Shikaotoko Aoniyoshi. ^^ Eek!! He's so feminine in that picture. What was the fashion editor thinking? Very high fashion shot, but I prefer my Tamaki masculine and hunky, not androgynous, thank you! On a positive note, I can see him playing The Phantom of the Opera. LOL
Well, he's a very professional actor. When (not 'if' - have faith! ) they announce the filming of the Nodame Cantabile Final, I'm sure Tamaki will dutifully bulk himself up to regain that healthy Chiaki image, so we can have the best sequel ever. It should be easy for him, he's a voracious eater.meoinkie2 wrote:i really thought that after his work for the Deerman, he'd regain his old weight back but instead, it's been said that he's lost some more..waaaa!! im still very much hoping that he'd return to his old Chiaki look..

Ahh, I think I discovered my type of Japanese guy. haha I have noticed that whenever I see my ordinary type as a Japanese guy they just weren't as nice to look at, but....KYAAA~~~~!!! Tamaki Hiroshi is gift. haha
Oh, yeah. He's a good actor too! lol
I just finished Nodame Cantabile.
Sometimes, he reminds me of Ikuta Toma (looks), but that could be because they are both manly. (?)

what the hell man? don't they eat rice in japan? how come all the actors and actresses are so light?
and tamaki hiroshi is 180cm right. that's like 6ft. that's tall!
Jazzl, shintee
He's lost a lot of weight for that recent movie, MW. His character there is poisoned by a chemical (or biological) weapon when he was a kid and since then his body is failing and he can't feel emotions. That's why he's so thin now. An SP tanpatsu connected to the movie is already out but he's not much in it. Pity.
Can you imagine Tamaki emotionless?? I can't!
Hope he gains weight and health soon.

oh no! looks like i found this thread on hiroshi tamaki a bit too late. totally miss out the youtube file of the press conference for ohoku.......sobs, sobs.
besides the last thread was May 2010. will this thread be alive again................??????????
thanks to sanari for pointing out that he got really skinny for his role in MW. i was kind of wondering why he got so so thin. i thought he was sick or something. i was like thinking oh no....the poor prince sama. so pro all these actors. they just about go through anything for their role.
luckily he looks better in Guilty Akuma. Congrats to him for winning the best actor for the "Deer Man" and best supporting actor for Guilty Akuma.

New Tamaki Hiroshi fan here! I sear I just got into Nodame Cantabile on the 21st after hearing about the Korean remake and after marathoning and holding myself back from finishing it completely, I can safely say this. NO ONE will EVER be able to top Ueno Juri and Tamaki-kun`s performance. So not going to watch the Korean version
Btw Tamaki will be a BS Asahi regular guest, on a travel program of sorts! Can`t wait to see more!

So glad you got into the awesomeness that is Nodame Cantabile! Ueno and Tamaki had such superb chemistry, it's near unbeatable. I can't think of any Japanese actor better suited to be Chiaki than Tamaki - simply put, he IS Chiaki. Ueno and Tamaki look great together too, but they always laugh it off when they get teased about being a couple, hehe.hyukjaeismine wrote:New Tamaki Hiroshi fan here! It turns out Tamaki has another movie this year. I'm pasting an old article from 2013, but I haven't seen any news at all regarding the exact release date:
Shinichi Tsutsumi, Machiko Ono, and Hiroshi Tamaki to star in Bali-set comedy
07/20/2013
Shinichi Tsutsumi, Machiko Ono, and Hiroshi Tamaki will star in Toshio Lee’s Kamisama wa Bali ni Iru (lit. God Is in Bali), the first Japanese movie filmed on location in Bali, Indonesia.
Filming will take place in Bali for about a month from late July before wrapping up in Japan.
The story is based on Sho Kuroiwa’s book “Dekasegeba Daifugou”. It revolves around a woman named Sachiko (Ono) who flees to Bali after the failure of her Konkatsu (marriage hunting) business. By chance, she meets and is inspired by a Japanese multi-millionaire who’s called “Aniki” (big brother) by other visiting foreigners. Tsutsumi will play Aniki, a character based on real-life Japanese entrepreneur Maruo Takatoshi who made his fortune in Bali and continues to influence others to become successful.
Tamaki will play a former doctor named Ryu who changed his life after meeting Aniki.
“Kamisama wa Bali ni Iru” will be released nation-wide in Japan in 2014.

Tamaki was awesome in Love Shuffle, I really enjoyed his performance. He was totally immersed in the role and I admire that in an actor. He had good chemistry with Karina, and also the rest of the cast. Love the panda puns, pajama parties and elevator scenes! I really liked the ending for Kei, it just seemed so natural - not to mention the usagi mascot and cute puppy!sfnoona wrote:Also enjoyed him in Love Shuffle - recommended!
Yay Panda!
Tamaki has a new role Though I'm not sure I like it since it sounds like second-lead territory and reminds me of that awful Last Cinderella... but I guess it's better than nothing?

Star-Studded Cast for “Murder on the Orient Express” SP Drama
A press conference was held on the 14th for the 55th anniversary special drama of Fuji TV “Murder on the Orient Express”, to be broadcasted on 2 consecutive nights in the New Year of 2015. The drama will feature Nomura Mansai, Arashi’s Ninomiya Kazunari, Anne, Matsushima Nanako, Tamaki Hiroshi and Sawamura Ikki among others.
The drama is based from the original novel of the Queen of Mystery Agatha Christie, which was published in 1934. Playwright of the SP is written by Mitani Koki and the story setting has been changed to the early Showa era. “Murder on the Orient Express” is about a murder that occurred while on a luxury sleeper train called Orient Express. The first night of the drama will be faithful to the original. The second night will reconstruct the story based from the point of view of the criminal.
Nomura Mansai will play the role of the famous detective Suguro Takeru who gradually uncovers the murder in the luxury train. This is also his first time starring in a commercial drama.
Ninomiya Kazunari plays the role of the victim’s head secretary named Makuuchi Heita. On his first work together with Mitani Koki, he was surprised to be chosen. “I thought I could only watch Mitani’s works. I was surprised when I was called.” Mitani commented that he has seen Ninomiya’s past works and says “It is really good. In a sense, that was already an audition. He is warped so I look forward to the strange feeling.”
Anne will play the wife of diplomat Andou, which is played by Tamaki Hiroshi. With deep emotion she says that “I knew Mitani-san from childhood through my family. I did not imagine I would be able to act a character in his works.” Sawamura Ikki will play army colonel Noto Iwao and has lost 5 kg in 3 months to prepare for the role. He also kept a mustache. On working with Mitani for the first time, he says “The pressure is great!”
In addition, Matsushima Nanako will play the role of private tutor Umaba Maiko, Ikematsu Sousuke as the fountain pen seller Hazama Saisuke, Yagi Akiko as the church worker Kureta Sonoko.
The rest of the cast include Takahashi Katsumi, Sasano Takashi, Nishida Toshiyuki, Ikematsu Sosuke, Yagi Akiko, Aoki Sayaka, Takahiro Fujimoto, Fuji Sumiko, Kobayashi Takashi and Kusabue Mitsuko.

hi, i'm also Tamaki's fan
Anyone here know if there's a link that I can watch the documentary show about beautiful around Japan which Tamaki-kun presented? The series just started this October on Asahi, yet I only found some pictures of it.
I think it's nice when we can know him in different sides. Not just on acting in doramas/films

Re: Tamaki Hiroshi
If you didn't already know, Tamaki Hiroshi is in a new drama, Zannen na Otto, which will premiere on Jan 14, his birthday!
Here's the synopsis from Jdrama Weblog:
With his looks, personality and capabilities, Haruno Yoichi (Tamaki Hiroshi) is considered the “ideal husband”. However, he feels that his wife’s attitude has cooled ever since she gave birth to their child. He knows neither the cause nor the solution, and has been reduced to the “unfortunate husband” at home. Chisato (Kurashina Kana) is thought to be the “ideal wife with all the the traditional graces” who does her best to look to her husband with respect. But her husband’s words and deeds which she could excuse until after childbirth, now make her feel uneasy. Because of her continued hysterics, she has become the “monster wife” to her husband.
It looks like a cute drama, hope it'll be good! Tamaki back to being the lead is awesome

Re: Tamaki Hiroshi
Tamaki will be back in an asadora. His role doesn't sound too promising, and it's a pity he won't pair up with Miyazaki Aoi. Oh well, hope it'll be a good drama!

Miyazaki Aoi and Tamaki Hiroshi to appear in next 'Asadora'
As reported in March, actress Haru was chosen as the next heroine for the new 'Asadora (Morning drama)' titled "Asa ga Kita".
Today, NHK introduced the other actors of the main cast and one of them is popular actress Miyazaki Aoi, who is going to play the heroine's older sister. It's a great addition to the new drama, considering that she herself already starred in the 2006 asadora "Junjo Kirari" and the 2008 taiga drama "Atsuhime".
Haru is afraid of becoming homesick during the 9-month long filming period and asked Miyazaki for advice. Unfortunately, she isn't the best person to consult, because she replied, "I got to film it in Tokyo back then, so I went home everyday."
Actor Tamaki Hiroshi is also going to support Haru as her on-screen husband in "Asa ga Kita". He commented, "It's been 12 years since my last asadora. I'm somewhat anxious about living in Osaka."
The remaining cast consists of Kondo Masaomi as Tamaki's father, Fubuki Jun as his mother, Enomoto Tasuku as Miyazaki's husband, Manda Hisako as Miyazaki's mother-in-law, and Tatsumi Takuro as her father-in-law.
"Asa ga Kita" is modeled after businesswoman Hirooka Asako, who lived during the end of the Edo Period to the Taisho Period. It depicts the life of "Asa" (Haru), who marries a man running a prominent money-exchange business in Osaka and makes every effort to run a colliery company, to establish a bank, and more on behalf of her prodigal husband.

Re: Tamaki Hiroshi
This dude's a real pretty boy stud. Why haven't I seen him in big time starring roles? I've only seen him in Nodame Cantabile and maybe Kyoo Kaisha Yasumimasu I think.
Re: Tamaki Hiroshi
Try him in Shikaotoko Aoniyoshi and Love Shuffle. He's also a sweet second lead in Kekkon Shinai. If you like asadora, he was in Asa ga Kita as the husband of the leading lady.JackBauer2424 wrote:This dude's a real pretty boy stud. Why haven't I seen him in big time starring roles?
