Oguri Shun
This is interesting bit of news. I'm not sure if it's true or not. Someone post it on OSC forum.
I thought he owned a car or he gets driven to work O_o
Basically it says lately he's been getting jobs none stop doing movies, dramas and commercials. In a short time span he's made over 10,000,000 yen. (roughly $92,000 US) but his lifestyle has not changed. His daily food and meals are supplied by the drama company.
Zhong Jing Sports paper indicated currently he's filming binbou danshi, he runs to work to save car expense. He eats his 3 meals on the set and even packs the left overs on the set, home.
Clothing wise, he asked the workers to are going destroy the clothes after the drama to leave it for him. According to reports, his dream is to establish a professional theatre school. His current goal is to save money. So even if people call him stingy he doesn't care.
Makes me kinda wonder...what about the apartment he rented near Jun? Guess he's moving back home?

Oguri Shun is like high-end B-list or low-end A-list actor by now... He should be getting more than 10 million yen for a movie alone (I don't know how long this "short time span" is though)
Food is very likely, not to save money, but all the TV stations and filming companies supply that anyway. Unless you're really picky, most actors eat those. They tend to eat out after work though... Not 3 supplied meals a day.
Running to save car money is almost certainly a lie. Driving their clients to work is usually the in the job description of Japanese 'talent' managers. If he's running, it's for exercise.
I tend to not believe Chinese sources... they used have a lot of random gossips.

I got a message from treev on Friday. Seems her accounts are always deleted ^^; She registered as treev38 but it got deleted within a day. Now she's using color365 but I'm not sure if she will continue posting videos or not. She said she hasn't posted any lately.
I just watched the disukaba 2003 video with chinese subs. Seems Shun has gastroptosis so he does hand stands all the time ^^; He said it helps him with it. Then they show him eating very fast ^^; And the lady suggest he should eat slower. Then they go to ask the reporter if doing handstands help with gastroptosis. The guy said not at all ^^; They ask what does it help with and he said they never studied it. Maybe it's good for running away LOL and the ran off kakaka Then they said...so he's been an idiot doing hand stands all this time
The lady said it helps with singing and they ask if he makes sounds when he does hand stands ^^; Then they said those 2 have nothing in common (gastroptosis and singing). They need to solve his problem. One guy suggest he eat with his right hand since he's a leftie. It will slow him down from eating so fast ^^;
Dunno if he's telling the truth or not He mentioned something about "yarabata" saying he didn't do it as he passed his 20th bday. So I guess he did it after he was 20 seems he wasn't one after he was 21 ^^;

Thanks for the update. I had been trying treev38 and treev39 but to no avail. I wonder if she should just look into a different streaming site that wont delete her account?seirin wrote:I got a message from treev on Friday. Veoh definitely does. I've seen it happen numerous times. I thought Stage6 was better than that but I guess I don't pay enough attention. I have seen videos that have been up for months and are still hosted though. Dailymotion Im not too sure. From my experience, it doesn't seem like they do, but I could still be wrong.
edit: well forget Stage6 altogether cause it's closing down on Thursday

Last I heard TimeLesSubs were still subbing it - listed on their website under "projects"

and TripleZ's Ranting apparently is to be a spot translator on it

that's all I could find when I google-d it.

Oguri Shun will narrate a television documentary for the first time next month.
The documentary focuses on a 1991 incident in the Meili Xueshan mountain range in China. 17 members of Kyoto University's Academic Alpine Club attempted to climb one of the peaks, but an avalanche killed the entire team. With 16 of the bodies found so far, photographer Naoyuki Kobayashi returns to the mountain every year in search of the final climber.
NTV is airing the program on March 2.

"Snakes and Earrings" cast includes Oguri, Fujiwara, and more, Tuesday March 11, 2008 Japan
Yukio Ninagawa's "Hebi ni Piasu" (also known as "Snakes and Earrings") finished filming in December, but certain cast details quietly slipped under the radar until recently.
While it was widely announced that Yuriko Yoshitaka was starring alongside Kengo Kora and ARATA, the movie's guest cast was not publicized. Media outlets are now reporting that Kamejiro Ichikawa, Shun Oguri, Toshiaki Karasawa, and Tatsuya Fujiwara are among the faces that appear in the film.
"Hebi ni Piasu" is based on Hitomi Kanehara's Akutagawa Prize-winning novel that was published in 2003. The story follows a teenager named Lui (Yoshitaka) who starts experimenting with piercings and other body modifications, but it leads her life into a downward spiral. The novel encompasses several mature themes, including alcoholism, sadomasochism, and violence.
Several big names are appearing in minor roles. Kamejiro Ichikawa plays a detective, while Rakkyo Ide plays the manager at Lui's part-time job. Shun Oguri and Tatsuya Fujiwara, who have both previously starred in Ninagawa's stage plays, appear as members of a gang. Other cast members include Toshiaki Karasawa (as a cop), Yu Abiru (as Lui's friend), and Sonim (as Lui's co-worker).
The movie is scheduled to open later this year.

I've got a quick question...
One of my teachers used to live in Japan for twenty years playing ping pong of all things so she knows a bit about Japanese culture I'd say. She said everyone is right handed due to the way you are supposed to write, something about the strokes I guess...
Now if I'm not wrong, I've heard that Shun is left handed, right? So what's the deal?

I don't think it matters. Some are left handed some are right handed. There are some Chinese who write with their left and they have more strokes to write than Japanese people do. Whatever makes them feel comfortable I guess. No sense in writing with your right if you can't write it coherently. It's like forcing a right hand person to write or eat with their left.

In the old days in most countries around the world, if you were born left handed that was thought to be bad and you were forced to right with your right.
However nowadays leftys and rightys live together in harmony ^_^
i must admit though being a lefty myself it does make stroke order rather difficult because you hard automatically wants to draw a lot of the lines in the opposite way to which they are supposed to go. And calligraphy, no thats hard! I can't do it with my right but doing it left is soooo akward due to how you have to hold the brush and write the strokes and it feels very cakhanded.

Did he mention on the show that he was taking a break? How long will it be for? Hopefully, he'll take it easy and get some well deserved sleep.seirin wrote:I posted up the newest ANN file. I didn't listen to the ANN file yet. I randomly listen to a few ^^; I just read on the ANN website where he said he's taking a long vacation in April. I think it also mentioned if they have any ideas what he should do on his holidays to write to ANN? Not too sure.
