How To download or save video from YouTube, Google, Dailymotion...

Here are some sites I use:

if you want to download videos from YouTube you can use a software called the YouTube Grabber. a friend of mine gave me a copy and it perfectly works. a great downloader. the video format is .flv of course. don't know if it works for other sites. just pm me if you want a copy.

I use the program Super to convert flv to avi
It's a freeware programa and it convert many types of media to other types.

well for any site that streams video, it has to save the video somewhere in your computer so it can be played. Try going to the C drive Documents And Settings and then your profile, find a folder called "Local Settings" (If you don't find it make sure to display hidden files) Then find your temporary internet files and look for it. Since the video should be very large sort out the list by making the largest size appear on top first (or just look around, although the file could be named differently). Hopefully this will work.

leave the window on until the whole video is finished, as in the buffer is complete (the grey bar that loads in the seek bar) and it should work.

i also like to use autogk to encode, but i've had a problem where it won't allow me to encode with divx -- only xvid.

what browser are you using? Unfortunately the microsoft monopoly makes it so only internet explorer (not firefox or any other web browsers) work with this...

(but it's not Video downloader) everytime I open a video on crunchyroll, the icon is bright I just click on that and i can download the video. I also can download from youtube and any kind of stream video. But my lap top got virus when I looked for some game crack. I recovery my lap top, and now I have no idea what was that sofware, and where could I find it.
Anybody know about it, please tell me. thankssssssssssssssss a lot

Just try it, I really love it. I think it is better than video downloader.

I wouldn't mind knowing either.

As mentioned Video Downloadhelper for Firefox is great for youtube, especially since it will have you name the files (or even let you specify where in the page page the filename should come from, and you can highlight a selection of videos that you want in a page and just right-click, then choose download.

I like queuing dozens/100s+ files. I find using BYTubeD to create an html file with all the files that you want, and then using DownThemAll to actually download them works great with Youtube playlists as well.

Hope the above helps someone.

I haven't figured out how to mass download from Dailymotion though? anyone have any addons/software that will do it? Thanks.

Yes, works fine on that link.
In this case is not .mp4, it's .flv!

Edit. Probably not the best way, but for reference I used FLVJoin to link the parts together, then FLV_Extract to remove the streams from the container, then MP4Box to put in an mp4 container. Worked like a dream!

Edit2. For split mp4s you can join them together with mp4box, simply use the -cat option:

just add as many -cat arguments as needed, they will all be stitched together into full.mp4 (change names as appropriate of course).

Jdownloader also works.
Any DDL links, Dailymotion, YouTube and so on.

1. Right-click DDL link and "Copy link location..." (Or copy the URL of a YouTube video).
2. Paste the URL into Jdownloader.
3. You get a list what can be downloaded. Video, audio etc...

MiPony will now down YouTube, as well.
If a video comes in assorted filesizes, it will ask you to select.
Beware during install of crapware. Just decline those.
