I actually didn't like Massu much until I met him in Stockholm last week - ah, almost two weeks ago now, time goes by so fast!
Anyway, ever since that day I've been fangirling over him... *sigh*

Yeah, I still can't believe I actually talked to him and shook his hand. He's really handsome in real life, more so than in pics. Though he looks good in the Miso Soup PV, don't you think?

I'm dl-ing the first ep of musashi, it's incredibly long and there's not much people dl-ing it, so i don't know when it'll finish.

massu's always been my favorite ever since I've learned about NEWS. I actually have a site www.massuki.com where you can dl massu stuff.

I've translated dandori because he's so adorable in there.

And if you haven't seen yesterday's shounen club, then you should, massu is so baka! =)

I wouldn't say it's the best, but it's quite good if you don't mind a similar plot to ganbatte, water boys and such.

I'd really love to, since it was a nice surprise to see Massu there, and since he was extremely baka. But unfortunately, I'm drowning with work right now (both real life and hobbies), and I still would like to translate Massu's new drama special. (which is extremely hard since there's kansai-ben and stuff, so I don't know if i can do that)

But man, Akai Santa is such a cute name for Massu... when you ignore the kanji it translates to Red Santa. Kawaii!!!

BTW, I haven't finished Ie Ga Tooi, but the making is extremely funny.
Especially when Kusano scared Massu with a cricket. LOL I think I replayed that a few times.

And Massu's singing was awful, it's so funny when they said it might ruin Massu's career.
If anyone has the Making without the chinese subs, please post it too, they covered some of the japanese translations that were too fast for me to understand. =)

I've always like Massu's body, I don't think he's fat at all, but he does eat a lot. No wonder Ryo calls him a buta.

Oh by the way, I'm doing a 100 Icon challenge for Massu, I'm at 77/100 now:

You can use them, no credit needed, just a comment. Let's spread the Massu Luv!

Massu is not buff, Yamapi is buff. Massu is... nicely toned. XD

Oh yeah and of course MU died on me while I was away so I'm trying to upload those other episodes once again. Sorry for the lack of subs, these have Chinese subs but I'm not sure if that's any help at all... It'll still be fun to watch them even if you have no idea what they're talking about!

Pics... I might have a few of those on my computer at home - I'm at work right now, I'll have a look when I get home.

As for an online journal, he does have a J-web, like all the JE boys, but he doesn't write much. You can read the translations over at Binan no Nikki here: http://jweb85.blog48.fc2.com/ - they just updated with a few of his entries.

I'm uploading the RAWs anyway - if MU ever lets me - so feel free to take them... I haven't actually watched any of the episodes yet so I'm not sure what's wrong... *puts them on* Hmm, for some reason episode 3 and the making of only give me sound! Is that the problem you meant? I only downloaded them recently so I hadn't had a chance to look at them yet!

Oh, I bought the English version of Miso Soup in Sweden and I preordered both the Japanese ones so I'm good to go. ;)

ETA: It seems I don't have a lot of Massu pics at all but I'll share the ones I have, even if you've probably all seen them before.

Honestly, I'm not that good at Japanese, but I know enough to watch something while getting the general idea (of course when I'm translating, a lot of research is needed for words that I'm not familiar with). And I didn't go to school to study Japanese, I've studied by myself and I've only bought maybe 2 books and a dictionary, and watched plenty of subbed shows, and I've gotten this far after 2 years (and I'm quite the lazy person).

I guess what I'm trying to say is, if you start now (there are plenty of sites that offer lessons much better than books) and if you have such motivation, then I'm sure you can easily learn and you'll be watching SC and understanding it in no time.

I'm saying this because subbed SC's are quite rare, personally I've only seen 2 subbed shows. So ganbare!

Ah first of all thank you for the scans.

@cindydes: I turned 22 last September, but all my friends are 18 and below for some reason, so I'm quite immature most of the time. (probably more than my friends)

Everything you need for now should be here: http://www.manythings.org/japanese/links/

that site is super useful, but the first site I went to was: http://www.japanese-online.com/

And I don't know if you have much time, but watch subs from the super high quality subbers, I recommend starting with anime, since there are more "HQ" groups dedicated to anime compared to drama.

I also use j-talk.com as my dictionary/kanji look up, there are more, but I'm just used to it.

I do, and it's extremely useful, when I got my laptop and installed firefox, it was the first add-on I installed. (yep, even before flash), it's an awesome handy tool and made my life as a translator so much easier (since I'm awful with kanji)

I do, and it's extremely useful, when I got my laptop and installed firefox, it was the first add-on I installed. (yep, even before flash), it's an awesome handy tool and made my life as a translator so much easier (since I'm awful with kanji)
Ah, thanks, I'll install it then. Someone pointed me to it and said it was useful but I don't like to install things that I'm not going to use anyway... Thank you! ^__^

i agree. that onesided overall thing is just weird but somehow he still looks cute with it. Out of all the memebers of NewS, massu definitely has his own special sense of fashion lol

Yes, they came to Stockholm for the promotion of Miso Soup, the song was released in Sweden first and Japan afterwards. So yes, I met Massu and Tego and it was AMAZING.

YES I read the NEWS news (lol) on LJ about...6 hours ago? I've been squeeing over it ever since! It's too bad that Kusano and Uchi will have to start from scratch as 'trainees' though...

What do you mean 'trainees'? They will sing with the band again right? Did you guys find out when they come back? Hope they come back soon, cause i can't love 3 different bands (Tegomassu, Kitty Gym,Kanjani8) :whistling:

NewS will return tomorrow at Johnny's Countdown but with only six members. Uchi and Kusano will return as trainees, but I'm not quite sure what this means. I think it just means that they won't be back in the spotlights until Johnny-san knows how the fans feel about them (and, like someone said in the Yamapi thread, the fans' parents). So they might be like juniors at first, I think...

Yes, I'm unbelievably excited about NewS returning! I wish I could watch the Countdown tomorrow but I have to work. After work, no matter how tired I am at 8am, I'm going to watch it!

Did you all see this? http://community.livejournal.com/kanjani8/360443.html
Apparently, trainee is not a good thing to be in JE world.

whoa...below junior level....thats like rock bottom almost. that totally sucks and is unfair to kusano and uchi who are by nature human. they arent gods, so mistakes are inevitable. I dont think they should be punished for so long... and so harshly. I am however, glad that NewS will resume activities. Because I was never into K8 im not like that bummed about Uchi. But Kusano and Uchi were like so upbeat in NewS that I'd think NewS will be deeply affected by Johnny's decisions....yet again.

*sigh* all in all, Im looking forward to 2007. I wasnt before because i was afraid of seeing little of NewS (esp massu!) around the j-world. but now, WEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE all is good and merry!

MASSU!! I first saw him in NewS' 'Cherish' pv and was like "Woah..this guy is so adorable'!' He still is, of course. Ah...can't wait to see NewS together again.

Currently watching 'Gachi Baka" (since Tego is in it also :lol ) Has anyone watched Dandori? Is it worth watching?

Dandori is fun. It's not the greatest dorama ever but it's fun to see Massu act like a total idiot and he looks cute so yeah, if you like Massu it's worth watching, I think.
