Anyone interested in watching Thai dramas/movies?

Post by nightangelz » Jun 16th, '06, 14:42

(not sure if this is where this thread should go but we'll see ^^)

Hey, I just stumbled across d-addicts.com a few months ago and I'm really glad I did~~ hehe. SO many good dramas here ^_^

Anyways, was just wondering if anyone was interested in watching Thai dramas/movies? I could provide the raws (not for many) and could subtitle (my Thai isn't great, but I get most of it ^^)... I THINK there might a Thai drama fansubbing group but I'm not too sure... If there is one, do you guys need any help? ^^:

But if there isn't then... Anyone interested in watching some Thai dramas? :P

I just found out that there is a thread for "Oom Rak" (chain of love) which is Thai drama on a-addict. If you are interesting in helping them for subbing. It would be really appriciated but i'm not too sure as well whether they need any helps or not - -"

I got hooked to this drama :wub:

I'm getting addicted to "Oom-Rak(Chain of Love)" also. It is now very popular in Thailand.

Just to say I'm glad that someone is too kind to help translate our language, as a Thai people.

Hm... I PMed the people (well, just one ^^) who are doing "Oom Ruk" and apparently there isn't a Thai fansubbing group yet... I think it'd be fun to start one. Let's see how that turns out~~ =P

ANNNNDDD... apparently I (well, my household) have A LOT of dramas O_O .. mainly older ones though. Some range from a few months old to almost 10 years old! O_O *points finger at mother who's an even bigger Thai drama addict that I am* haha... ahhh it feels good to be home right now :D

I can also provide some Thai OST for maybe... two or three or so dramas ^^

Right now, we're watching "Duay Raeng Haeng Ruk" with Mos Patiparn and Woranoot Wongsawan =P

But yeah, if there are people who are interested, I would love to try fansubbing ;D

I've seen a lot of thai dramas but i've only really watched one. I don't know what the title of it is, but I know the main actor is "Jakrapun Abkornburi".

It's an interesting drama where the main actor is just a regular guy who works at some sort of dry cleaners or makes suits or something. Anyway, he delivers one suit to some rich guy and witnesses his murder. He manages to get away and call the police but the murderer remembers his face and is trying to track him down.

Meanwhile, he askes for help or something and ends up working for a woman who is something like a manager for a famous singer. The singer is rather egotistic and never shows up on time for his performances.

While the main character's original job for the woman was just to be a sort of maid, he ends up saving one of the singer's shows by being forced to go on stage and improvise in front of the raging audience! He turns out to be a more fabulous singer than Mr. Egotistic and the woman/manager takes him under her wing... Can he gain star-dom? Or will the murderer be his next victim?

It's a comedy/romance drama and there are some rather corny parts to it but overall it's great to watch at least once. If anyone knows the title to this drama then it would be great. :) So yes, I am interested.

It was very popular dramas in Thailand at that time. I don't know what its name name in English but we call "Likae Likae" in Thai. Jakrapan has been a famous Thai traditional singer in Thailand and he did a good job for his dramas, especially this one. FYI about this drama, he acted as a designer who saw a murder and he had to disguised himself to get escape, something like this.

When I was in Bangkok a few years back my family was watching a Thai drama, involving vampires. It seemed interesting but I was not sure what it was called. I found a Thai corner store in San Francisco one day and they rented out many thai dramas, but I couldn't recognize what is what. Anyway is this drama part of your collection?

The drama that Patson and Nink acted was many years ago. It was shown on Sat-Sun around 10-11 AM. The show was about Patson who was a rich man and need a woman to be hired as his wife in order to prevent himself from his cousin (or some kinda like that), Nink was the woman who was hired. After they shared lives together, they felt in love with each other. It was a cute and warm story but I am sorry that I cannot remember its name.

I'm sure many people are interested in Thai dramas. Yeah, I'm all for it.

My country shows quite a lot of Thai dramas too. Currently, The Love Chain is shown every Mon-Wed.

The only Thai drama I've watched was "Phoenix Blood'. Good storyline, good songs.

It's been.. DAYYYSSSS!!! since I've been allowed to login! T-T WHy?!?! I don't know. Every time I tried to log in, I was always brought back to the login page instead of the "logged on" page =T Anyways.......... Yay!

bumena: PM for you!
And yeah, I can't get the newest dramas up and out since I live in the states and I don't have Thai Satellite or something blah blah blah....... Though I heard there's a place you can download any Thai drama for 10 bucks a month... something like that... *will look into it* ;D But anyhow, all the RAWS I can put up are from VCDs... the quality isn't great but isn't TERRIBLE either. If anyone can provide better RAWS, please let me know!! ^____^

Oh! And I agree, Nun is so cute! I love her! ;D

eaachh: PM for you! ;D

lilswtangel, mimmi, redbean: ^____________^!!!!! *does happy dance* =P

milleu87: Hm... Never heard of a drama called Soda and Ice Tea.. do you know who starred in it?

myss_adorakble: Hm.. old thai movies where they dress traditionally? Have you seen Nirad Song Pob (A Journey Between Two Earths)? Starting Ravit Terdwong and uh...... some other girl I can't remember her name sorry! But I LOVED this one ;D It's a few years old. The music is so pretty (have the OST to this one ;D)! And Ravit isn't playing a "lahkohn nam nao"/super cheezy drama.... Army tattoos... long hair... shirtless.... double swords... angry/broody main character.. XD!!!!

There are also a few other ones that take place in the past.. I remember a lot of parents were watching "Kasathreeya" I never watched it though........ WAAAAYYYY too long! Around 150 episodes or something! O_O I have a few other traditional styled ones too... =D

horndogbuddhist: ^______^ Will do our best! *salutes* :D

xKiMix: Mmm... probably, though I wouldn't know too much on that ^^ sorry.

Li-Mei: Oh! I have that drama!!! ;D ((Thanks to eaachh!! Once you mentioned the title I remembered watching it/having it. It's somewhere around here.. =D))

azra: I asked my mom if she remembered seeing it. She said she didn't think so. I'm going to go check myself later on though. Though I'm pretty sure I have tons of other dramas with Tik in it ^^

koolaid: Vampires? Do you mean western styled "vampires" or "pii dood luead (ghosts who drink blood)"? Do you happen to have any more information on that? I know of a drama that somewhat involved a "pii dood luead" in the beginning. It starred Nun and Kade. Nun's character was a ghost who drained the blood out of people to give to her master...

Maewoo: sorry, I'm not sure if I have that one.. I'll check though. Though if you can figure out the name, that would help a bunch! lol ^^

bugsie: As for movies, I don't have many. I do have Ong Bak, Fan Chun, Suicide Me, Iron Ladies, Suriyothai, and a few other thai movies. ((I don't have any recent Thai movies...... haven't been to Thailand in years unfortunately T-T))

paupau: Thai horror movies... ehh....... The ones I've seen aren't great (Three and some other movie) so yeah.. I don't have many in that category. I'm not even sure if there is a good Thai horror movie. If there is, someone let me know please! Oh! But Nang Nak wasn't too bad... at least, from what I remember of it ^^:; I saw the movie version around six/seven/eight years ago. Anyone know what I'm talking about?

Ohh!! That sounds great! PM for you!! =P

~~~~~~
Hm..I hope I got everyone ^^:;; Sorry if I missed anyone~~~
I would love to watch more Thai dramas. I've been watching them since I was a kid b/c my family watches them dubbed into khmer but it'd be nice to watch an original, with subtitles of course. Lots of dramas now don't live up to the older ones cuz the storylines in most of the new ones just don't make sense. I notice alot now that they try to rush the ending you feel cheated on what should've been a better wrap up. However there are lots of good ones too. What I thought was a good series until the very last episode that I just finished "Hemerich" (spelling is probably wrong) starring Sornram and Aum. I've heard rumors that there's a part 2 and I better hope there be b/c the story left you standing on a couple of stairs, literally!
@nightangelz] You seem to know alot about Thai drama. If you've seen the drama "Hemerich" that I mentioned earlier, do you know what the Thai words were saying in the final scene? I'm thinking that may be a clue as to what happened next or will happen.
But my favorite Thai drama will have to be "YaYe" (don't know the entire title), starring Sornram and Sunisa where she was an author and he was a coffee farmer. The scenery was gorgeous and the story was really cute and well written.
Too bad I can't help with fansubbing b/c I don't know Thai and everything I have is dubbed. But I'm so glad to see d-addicts get into Thai dramas and I will definitely keep watch on this.
@azra: GOOD NEWS, I have both of those dramas!!! I mentioned the Princess one to my mom again and mentioned Tik and she knew right away. It's called "Leud Kateeya" (Royal Blood) I can see why it's called Princess though. And GYAH!! I remember seeing that one too! Vaguely, but I know I saw it. The main characters met on an island and stuff ;D
I also have the other drama called "Daang Phaa Dawun Deaw" too! It's very cute! I actually just watched it a month ago. The pictures were nagging at my brain since I remember seeing it. So yeah, I can provide the raws for them! ^_^ Though as I mentioned before, the quality wouldn't be that great since it's in VCD format. If anyone could provide better raws that would be GREATLY appreciated!
@shortcake: I'm sorry, I don't think I have seen either of those two dramas! Though do you happen to have that one of Sonram and Aum in Thai? or is it dubbed? Because if you could send me a clip of it or something, I could figure it out... Sorry I can't help much. If we get that drama in the future, I'll definately let you know if you haven't figured it out yet ^^;;
Though I have to say.. that story about the coffee farmer sounds REALLLLLLLLLYYY familiar... Did the main guy have a son? If it's old, I think I might've seen it... but that was on VHS. Another one that came to mind was one about to rival farming families... =T
@milleu87: Gyah,, sorry... haven't seen that drama then ^^;; ...
@baby_laos: Do you need any help with that? If i can help in anyway, I would/will ^_^
@babyaznangel820: Yay!! *does another happy dance* XD!!!!"
@Maewoo: Gyah.. sorry I can't be of much help. I asked my mom if she's heard of something similar and she said another title called "Kalabungha" but that's a REALLLLYYYY old drama. I'm going to see if I can find anymore information on that drama you mentioned
I have serveral RAW titles on VCD that I am thinking about uploading, but I'm not quite sure yet ... I'm also trying to convert my VHS into DVD also. While the main character's original job for the woman was just to be a sort of maid, he ends up saving one of the singer's shows by being forced to go on stage and improvise in front of the raging audience! He turns out to be a more fabulous singer than Mr. Egotistic and the woman/manager takes him under her wing... Can he gain star-dom? Or will the murderer be his next victim?
It's a comedy/romance drama and there are some rather corny parts to it but overall it's great to watch at least once. If anyone knows the title to this drama then it would be great. :) So yes, I am interested.
That lakorn is actually called "Hongfah gub Somvung" starring Gott and Aum
Hey, I just stumbled across d-addicts.com a few months ago and I'm really glad I did~~ hehe. SO many good dramas here ^_^
Anyways, was just wondering if anyone was interested in watching Thai dramas/movies? I could provide the raws (not for many) and could subtitle (my Thai isn't great, but I get most of it ^^)... I THINK there might a Thai drama fansubbing group but I'm not too sure... If there is one, do you guys need any help? ^^:
But if there isn't then... Anyone interested in watching some Thai dramas? :P
There are already people working on it! Search for it in the subtitle section by using the index list
I've never seen a Thai drama but I'd definitely be interested. Actually, I just started downloading Oom Rug after reading this thread :lol
I don't know any Thai so I wouldn't download any raw dramas, but if there are subtitles available I'd love to watch some series ^_^
I would LOVE it if more people would upload and sub Thai dramas! I've been wanting to learn Thai for several years now and I think that watching dramas would be a great start! ^^
Especially if that drama has Tae in it, he's sooooooooooooo cute!!!!
Please do more Thai projects! And thank you if you do!
My first Thai movie was "Nang Nak." Since then, I started to like both Thai movies and drama. I'm currently watching Oom Ruk...
It'd be great if more Thai drama subbing projects get started for people like me, who don't understand Thai.
Thanks to people like Miumiu9, who uploaded the dramas, as well as Bumena, Sunstar, and all the other fansubbers I've had the chance to watch and understand them.
:cheers:
:-)
I'm kind a glad and surprised to see Thai dramas here....but it's very nice then
i have been looking for the day Thai drama goes abroad ( ^^ a bit exaggerting)
Oom rak's main actress is one of our great actress. Her name is Ann Thong-Prasom.
She is really good....the last film she played is 'Love letter'. It's a thai film....It was really successful in Thailand....quite a romantic film though i dont quite like the end
^^ ^^
i also would like to reccomend another Thai drama : Kulab See Dam - Black Rose.
Miw Lalita and Bank Chakrit were really good on it.
I dont know if there is somebody who can upload this. Quite a pity that i don't have it on my computer.....anyway if you guys have a chance to watch thai dramas, just dont miss this one
Hope you guys enjoy our dramas...
:D
gawd you guys! if you started subbing thai lakorns or just had raw seeds, my family would attack me! my mom and dad are lakorn freaks as well as my aunt and her daughters. i've never really gotten into them except with the ones that had kob, she's my fave. my dad and my cousin like tik, my mom and my aunt love num. my bro has dvds with tik in them. if i ever learn how to do some dvd rips, i'd put them on here. they all star tik but no subs though.
Hey, I don't know if this helps much, but I did a quick search and found this site: http://www.thaipoppers.com/database/t.htm. Hope this is useful and find an artist you like. :-)
Also, this is probably been said before, but a few years ago, I saw the horror film "Shutter" and to this day, I still consider it the scariest horror film to me.
Hi, I watched many Thai movie recently and I was very surprised by how much I find them really great. So now I want to watch Lakorn but I don't know what Lakorn I must watch. I started to watch "Oom Ruk" of course and so far I like it. I watched too "Defendant of Love" but the story is not my cup of tea at all (a guy who kidnaps a girl and they start to fall in Love... not for me :unsure:. But no offense for people who like this drama:).
So I want to know if there are others lakorns like "Oom Ruk" (funny with a quite simple story and without big evil characters) and with English subtitles, well I'm not Thai :lol.
Any suggestions? :-)
To Valentine_rose,
Hmmm, I' watching "Pink Bo" (Bo See Chompoo) but only at Episode 2 so far. It has 13 episodes. It's subbed by choblingLN1 on YT. I hope it's good.
P/S : Where did you watch "Oum Ruk" ? I've been looking for it on YT but somehow couldn't find it. :unsure:
