I'm just looking for a good translation of the lyrics of the famous and legendary song Shina No Yoru.
Could native speakers please correct the orthography of the Japanese text and the English meanings? thx.
http://www.itazuke.org/jukebox2.htm
Shina No Yoru (China Night)
probably composed 1935
- Lyrics by Yaso Saijyo
- Music by Nobuyuki Takeoka
- Interpreters: Hamako Watanabe/Harumi Miyako/Yoshiko "Shirley" Yamaguchi
Shina no yoru
Shina no yoru yo
Minato no akari
Murasaki no yo ni
Noboru janku no
Yume no fune
Aa wasurarenu
Kokyu no ne
Shina no yoru
Yume no yoru
A night in China,
What a night
Harbour lights,
Deep purple night,
A Junk is sailing
A dreamship
Ah, ah, I can't forget
The sound of the Kokyu.
China night,
A dreamnight.
Kokyu: a Chinese musical instrument.
Shina no yoru
Shina no yoru yo
Yanagi no mado ni
Lantan yurete
Akai torikago
Shina musume
Aa yarusenai
Ai no uta
Shina no yoru
Yume no yoru
A night in China,
What a night,
In the willow window,
A lantern is shaking,
A red bird cage,
A Chinese girl,
Ah, singing
sad love songs,
China night,
A dreamnight.
Shina no yoru
Shina no yoru yo
Kimi matsu yoru wa
Obashima no ame ni
Hana mo chiru chiru
Benji mo chiru
Aa wakarete mo
Wasuraryo ka
Shina no yoru
Yume no yoru
A night in China,
What a night,
Waiting for you
In the rain at Obashima
Flowers in bloom,
Like the rouge on her cheeks,
Ah, ah, even after we have part
I will forever remember,
China night,
A dreamnight.

hi! Many of you seem to be intersted in Japan, so maybe you would like to se some documentay programs?
I’m uploading documentary programs on http://clubbox.co.kr/dokidoki I’m starting with BBC series.
The title of this ep. is ‘Shopping in Japan’. If I see you guys downloading it, I will upload other episodes (‘Sex in Japan’ ‘Future in Japan’ ‘Music in Japan’).
This isn’t a popular file, I guess, so it might be slow at the beginning, be patient^^
If you know other clubboxes with documentary about Japan (and other Asian countries), please tell me!
Doki doki clubbox is a new clubbox, but we have big planes for it. So if you like the idea about documentary programs (and movies and dramas) please support this CB by downloading other files from it! ( we have to collect points-_-‘)
‘Shopping in Japan’ is actually about shopping in Tokio^__^ It will tell you about: Japanese ppl loving shopping, treating it as a group activity. Shopping is art. Akihabara and gadgets. 100 yen stores and big expensive department stores. Service. Changing trends. Advertising. Charisma girls. Parasite singles. etc
It is in English and japanese with english subs.

Hi Eliza,
Thank you for seeding the 'Shopping in Japan'. I just put it on the queue, so as soon as the current file is finished, I will start downloading in.
Yes, I would be very much interested in other one in Japan series. If you are willing to seed them, that would be great. My whole family would enjoy them, I am sure.
Thank you!!!

Well... I see many people here learning Japanese. Good luck to all of you!!!
And of course,

http://omr.oricon.co.jp/kiyaku.html
今、日本はGolden Week(Japanene-English)と言われる連休中です

I hope I'm not cheating by posting here~
I'm far from a "Japanese speaking D-Addict"... however, I have a great interest in the Japanese language and culture.
I guess, like most others, what drew me to this Japanese frenzy obsession would be anime. I discovered SailorMoon (dubbed in Chinese) as a little girl and ever since then, I've been hooked onto anime, manga, and jpop. However, I have moved on from anime (aside from the occassional download) onto the world of j-dramas.
I am really intrigued by the Japanese dialect and to me, it sounds like music to my ears. I'm slowly learning on my own, to speak it. However, I am far from being able to read and write in Japanese, although...the occassional Chinese-like characters do help a lot since I'm able to read and write Chinese fluently.
I dream of visiting Japan...and hopefully that'll dream come true in another year or so when i'm done with school and settled with a career. *fingers crossed*

Hey everyone, I'm raphaël, from sars fansubs. I'm French but I translate from Japanese to English. My only problem is I can't write in here. I can read what you all post in Japanese, but what I write myself always end up in ????????. I have a Mac and I use Safari. If anyone could help, I'd be very very grateful. I tried everything and I'm a bit desperate, because I'd really like to post in Japanese sometimes too. ^^

I have a Mac and I use Safari. If anyone could help, I'd be very very grateful. I tried everything and I'm a bit desperate, because I'd really like to post in Japanese sometimes too. ^^
Yoroshiku onegaishimasu!
I'm not sure if they're compatible with Macs, though.
