Yep, that turned on the light in my head. :D
Peerguardian :cussing:
ValueSERVER (217.172.47.0 - 217.172.47.255) is blacklisted there - in the P2P lists, so if you use that software, you should check it in PG when it is blocked (when you try to connect to the tracker) and permanently allow it .

Hi, when I try downloading a torrent my bittorrent client, azureus, always says tracker connection timeout since two or three days ago. Also I cannot connect to the website anymore. It says connection timeout several time. On recommendation of someone on IRC i'm now using isps proxy server which seems have no problems. I'm not using any program like PG. is there any way to fix this? I also did a traceroute if that helps. After 6 hops it ends in nowhere ... last hop is "6 60 ms 60 ms 60 ms 213.83.24.82".

never had any problem before. pls help me.

CANNOT CONNECT TO TRACKER AND WEBSITE WITHOUT HELP BY OTHERS

Post by Nobuta » Dec 11th, '05, 19:50

Hi, since yesterday I cannot access either the website or the tracker anymore. I always get connection timeout error! Need to use a friend from the USA to get access to the site!!! he can connect without problems! I have tried everything, anything else works fine only d-addicts refuse connection.

How to solve problem? Not using PeerGuardian or anything! Neighbour with same ISP cannot connect either! But if I use other DSL provider it works fine too, but too expsnive!

213.83.24.82 is the gateway that sits in front of the D-Addicts tracker. It may be having peering issues, i.e. it does not know how to reach back to your ISP. I'd PM Ruroshin with your ISP information and IP address for additional help.

Looking at your IP address I see that you're an T-Online user (or at least using the T-Net backbone through a reseller).
At the moment several IP Addresses are blacklisted on the forum server and on the tracker server because of some idiot who was harrassing ppl here and tried to challange the mods. The ban should affect also many other T-Net users in the NRW area (Germany). Just do as groink suggested. Send Ruroshin a PM with your IP and ISP info. He might lift or change the ban so that you're not affected anymore.

EDIT: You can also reach me in our IRC channel. (Wir können uns dort auch auf deutsch unterhalten.)

I am trying to download the Densha Otoko RAW torrents, however I just keep getting 'Scrape error: no route to host: connect' in Azureus. But there should be no reason for it.. I have downloaded plenty of stuff from D-Addicts before without problem, and nothing has changed since then... And the fact that I can browse the boards without problem shows there is in fact a route to the host..

Any ideas?? I get destination host unreachable when I ping d-addicts.net as well. But I get the 'move along, nothing to see here' message when I try to access it via a web browser so it does connect...

^ have you read the last few pages? What is the IP you get when you ping d-addicts.net? Using Peer Guardian?

I tried to download Lunch Queen, but I always got the error message "rejected by tracker - requested download is not authorized for use with this tracker". But I didn't request anything. :blink An idea what the problem could be? Thanks in advance.

I'm trying to download Mukodono 2003 episode 1 but there is no one else in the swarm even though the site says differently. My client says that the status is ok, there is just no one else in the swarm.

I pinged d-addicts.net and got back 217.172.47.136, so I tried the suggestions with changing things in the host file which didn't work and I do not have Peerguardian or a firewall blocking the tracker.

Here's the results of tracerts to 217.172.47.150 and d-addicts.net

pleaes provide the link to the torrent. Or maybe you are using the old IP address? please ping d-addicts.net and tell me what IP address did you get back? There are instructions to do this in the FAQ.

you have the wrong IP address. When you ping d-addicts.net you must get back 217.172.47.150.

Can you post the content of your hosts file please.

hrm thats strange you 217.172.47.150 d-addicts.net in your host but your trace route to d-addicts.net results in 217.172.47.136.

See this is wrong:

Code: Select all

C:\Documents and Settings\Seth Abrams>tracert d-addicts.net

Tracing route to d-addicts.net [217.172.47.136]
have you rebooted your computer after changing the host file?

Although really you shouldn't have to mess with your host file because its been a while now since we changed server and DNS info should of reached everybody by now.

Hi! could someone please help me....I was able to download a couple of days of ago but all of a sudden two days aga, wnenever i click on a .torrent link it say that "d-addict" could not be found. When i went to "run", "cmd" and type in "ping d-addicts.net" it would say "Ping request could not find host d-addicts.net" but when i typed in "ping d-addicts.com" it say that it's 217.172.47.116....I read that it's d-addicts.net, not d-addicts.com and the IP address is 217.172.47.150. or when i trace it but that doesn't show up on my computer. I have no clue in what's going on with my computer....i read the forum but my cmoputer results are so different from everybodys...i don't know what to do...Please can somebody help me?

ok...im stumped and so is my techie boyfriend...it seems something is wrong with my computer.

we're basically on a LAN at home (road runner if it makes any difference). his computer can access the d-addicts tracker while mine cannot at all. he used the same bt client as me (bittornado) and connects. to spite me, he uses another bt client and connects fine.

i've already flushed my dns, changed the host file to 217.172.47.150. tracerts are fine (to both 217.172.47.150 and 217.172.47.136). when i tracert d-addicts.net it goes to 217.172.47.150. i can access the bnbt page and the "nothing to see here, move along" page. i've allowed port 7979 on the bt client. i've configured my stupid built in xp firewall and even turned it off....i have restarted after making these changes.

currently, my bt client works fine with other trackers except d-addicts...this is really nutty because i WAS able to download (on my computer) fine from d-addicts. the problem started when i tried getting beach boys when it was sotw...

here's the error message if it helps:
Problem connecting to tracker - <urlopen error (10060, 'Operation timed out')>

any further advice would be much appreciated.

Do you have a router? Is it configured to let port 7979 through to your computer?

What's the make/model of the router/firewall? I'm trying to diagram your network in my head, and this information is vital. Also, on your PC, is your IP address something like 192.x.x.x or 10.x.x.x?

If you're confident about the configuration of your XP firewall, you could try re-enabling it, making sure 7979 is configured, and then connect your PC directly into the cable modem - bypassing the router/firewall complete. That'll at least tell us whether it is the PC or the router/firewall.

hi groink thanks for the reply. yes my IP address is 10.x.x.xxx does that mean it's blacklisted? i just found out that the server (which is the router too) is linux...i'll check the other thread for linux troubleshooting. our LAN is like this: the cable modem --> linux server/router --> PCs

the server/router is configured to allow port 7979. the boyfriend says it's my PC because if it was the server/router, then his computer should not be able to connect.

no. im using bittornado. actually the bt client isn't an issue...as said earlier, the boyfriend's computer is able to connect using bittornado (same version as mine -- we both installed using the same .exe file) and he even installed some other bt client that also connects (which i tried, but doesn't work for me).

Well, I can understand that form of linear logic on his part. I'm not at all familiar with linux-based firewalls. But based on my experience with appliance-based firewalls, such as the Cisco PIX series or the Netscreen series, it is possible for one PC on the LAN to work, while another PC on the same LAN cannot. And it basically has to do with the way the rulesets are configured.

If he is so confident with his configuration, ask him one more time to place your PC directly to the cable modem. You really can't rule out the firewall just because. It's called due dilligence. If your PC still doesn't work with D-Addicts when connected directly with the cable modem, THEN he can blame your PC. But until then....

Most likely the attack is being caused by a new virus trolling the internet. My own server had a few days of a new virus trying to access it. My poor server logs went from a few hundred kb to a few mb because of it. I'm still sifting through the logs seeing what the ip range was that attacked my server.

I have never before had a problem connecting to the tacker. But just this week for some reason I keep getting the message that I was unable to connect to the tracker. And then only twice I have been able to connect. I am not sure what is causing this. Thank you for any help that you are able to provide.

hi there.
i have a question to ask.
Currently i'm using bitlord 1.1 to dl trick season 2(batch). it works well previously, but then
it started to pending, i guess.

The problem is the tracker status is ok, the torrent is downloading, but the remaining MB is still the same although the the torrent is still downloading.

progress : 98.9%
remaining : 47.63MB
downloaded : currently 23 MB
selected file size: 4.50GB
total downladed : 5.56GB

the remaining episodes are 10-12 where:
ep 10 : 98.9%
ep 11 : 99.1%
ep 12 + extra : 96.8%
ep 12 + extra2 : 89.3%
ep 12 + extras : 88.5%

can anyone tell me what is the problem? all reply are appreciated. thanks in advance.

well need more info, like what torrent were you trying and have you done tracert that was suggested in the FAQ to see if you have a proper network path to the tracker?

they're both using other site's tracker not d-addicts tracker so we can't help you there.

to groink and ruroshin,

thanks for all your help on this thread. here are the results of what happened in case anyone is interested...

when my pc got plugged directly into the cable modem, we found out something weird. my computer could then connect to the tracker, but if i shut down the bt and started it up again, it wouldn't always connect. so, then we tried a spare computer and it did the same thing.

it seems there is something fishy with windows xp (as that's what my computer and the spare computer is running)...my boyfriend's computer is on windows 2000 and connects everytime (even if he shuts the bt down and starts it up again). strange, but at least i can connect now.

Windows XP? Are you running Service Pack 2? If so maybe it's related to the outgoing TCP connection limit. I was hesistant to bring it up since you said you only started to have problems recently. However other factors may have come into play. Something such as a higher delay in establishing connections to the tracker because of ISP throttling.

Hi everybody. I was wondering if someone can please help me. I've been trying to download 'Wonderful Life' episode 10 for about 4 days now. The problem is that my Upload rate is 0 KB/s (it never changes) and my download rate is 0KB/s - 2KB/s. I know it's not my port forwarding or firewall. I can download anime from different trackers and it works perfectly fine (my upload is 20KB/s and download is 35KB/s). So maybe I thought it had something to do with the tracker here??? Anybody have any thoughts???

I'm using BitTorent; do you know how to check on seeds using that program? I'm pretty sure it is, because I have the green bars and it says it's working normally.

EDIT: I found out how many seeders there were. There is 1 seeder and 5 leechers. Everybody's upload/download rate is like 0kb/s also. What can I do??

Because you have no control over how ports are forwarded, the only alternative is to find a proxy service that'll re-route everything to port 80 (http). Personally I have no experience with these kinds of services so I can't help you on how to find them. Try Google them by searching using the keywords "proxy service".

ive been getting really slow downloads lately, im happy with a 15 k/b transfer.
but it only seems to be coming from d-addicts. the service light never turns green anymore either.
but on other torrent sites(isohunt.com,torrentspy etc..) i always get high transfer rates and the service light always turns green.
can anyone help me out with this?

indeed I'm seeing that too, maybe there's just too many users for the server to handle instantly. We currently have almost 55,000 peers when before it was around the 40,000 mark.

the same goes for Kurosagi ep01 (and some other torrents)...

I can connect to Iryu 01 though as well...

I read the faq and a lot of other help/support threads, but I found nothing that would help me, or maybe I didn't understand it...help!!
I'm on burst! and have http://d-addicts.net:7979/announce as tracker...I read somewhere I should change it too the 'number IP adress' instead of using d-addicts.net, but it didn't help...I opened up some ports etc...doesn't work... dunno what else to do...

Same for me for some (goong 07) torrent...
I temporary fixed this with a restart of bitorrent, seems to refresh the connections to the tracker.
Downloads speeds are really chaotic these days :(

Tracker connection problems? You guys have to keep trying. As Ruroshin said in previous posts, the number of torrents being tracked is lagging the tracker. The long-term solution is to shrink the number of torrents (converting a bunch of similar torrents to one batch torrent, deleting dead torrents, etc.) and possibly upgrade to a more robust server. Short-term wise, we just have to live with the performance.

If you really want the more robust server, DONATE MONEY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The tracker has been extremely unreliable today. Usually it will eventually connect after a while. But today I've had torrents on for 2-3 hours without any success. All the peers I am connected to are cached or from the distributed database.

I found the tracker site for d-addicts: http://d-addicts.net:7979 .. If that site is down, it may possibly be unable to connect. Well that's what I think, and I was able to connect to Bengoshi no Kuzu torrent when that site was up, but Iryu's torrent stopped connecting to the tracker..

Do you know which distributed database they were from? I really want to download the lastest drama, right now. Instead of waiting for this unreliable tracker to get back on, I would want to start downloading.

I use Azureus and have DHT enabled. The database is built as you establish connections with different peers.
The tracker seems to returning to normal. Maybe there is a lighter load at this time? The last two torrents I've started work after a few minutes. The number of peers I can connect to is still only fractional though.

I had to bring the tracker down earlier today to tweak a few settings. Hopefully, things will be better now. I'm also waiting for our provider to get in new opteron servers and then I'm ordering one and moving the tracker to that.

That does explain that we were unable to connect to the tracker, but how were some people able to connect? I got disconnected after few minutes connecting. Oh well, I'm just glad that we are back on track.

Tell us what you get when you hit the following links:

http://d-addicts.net/
http://d-addicts.net:7979

Although a traceroute works (uses ICMP port), port 80 to d-addicts.net might be firewalled by Comcast.

One more thing to check... See if your PC and/or BitTorrent software is running some form of firewall protection, such as Peer Guardian. At one time d-addicts.net was on the ban list, but it has been removed awhile back.

If it isn't that, more likely it has something to do with your Internet service provider. It is possible that they found heavy traffic between them and d-addicts.net. Earlier, the traceroutes did confirm that it is NOT a routing, ARP, or DNS issue. I'd call your ISP and have them try surfing to those two links I posted.

I think it is my pc or the bitorrent software is the problem but i have no clue where to look or find out if there is some kind of firewall protection running. I am not aware of any other firewall running except for my windows firewall.

thanks for helping!!

heyy, can anybody help me with this problem?
i just came home from college, and i'm having trouble downloading with BitTorrent. it refuses to connect with the tracker, and i'm really confused. i never had a problem using BitTorrent when i was at college, and now that I'm back home, i can't use it anymore. i've just made the transition from Ethernet connection at my school to Wireless DSL at home.
any ideas/suggestions?

@angeizahoy
Can you not connect to any tracker, or just D-Addicts? Do you have a router or firewall?
Offhand, make sure you do not use the standard ports 6881-6999 for the incoming port.
Check the following URL's:
http://d-addicts.net/
http://d-addicts.net:7979
For the first one you should get a page saying "Nothing to see here, move along". The second should be a listing of torrents with a search box.

i can't connect on any tracker. i have a Westell 327W router, and on my laptop, i have the Windows firewall. for the port range on the BitTornado, I changed it to 10000-10010 because I read somewhere thats what BT uses..

i clicked on the URLs, and i got the first page fine. the second page, i jsut get one of those page errors, "The page cannot be displayed"...
