The TPG business plans offer true unlimited, but I think you need an ABN to get them. The 1.5mb plan is $150/month (yeah, it's expensive, but so is any true unlimited).

Other than that your best bet is to go with someone like Exetel who only charge $1 for every gb over your limit.

Hey!

Looking for Australian DVD traders who are interested in trading j-drama/k-drama by mail. Just looking for contacts, so if you can't trade right now, but might later, send me a pm anyway.

I'm in Syd on a 12GB cable plan. I have nothing to complain about download speeds but I really hate being limited to 12GB a month, there's so many things I want to download like sotm which disappears after a month but i can't.

Currently compiling a trade list to overcome my 12GB limitations.

from syd here, and a fan of tw dramas.

I'm currently on 20gig tpg adsl.
Going to churn over to ozforces soon, who offer true (although unofficial) unlimited downloads and uploads.

cheers

How sad! I am all alone up here in the Northern Territory... does nobody else in my state share my love for *coughasianboyscough* asian drama?

I'm running with Telstra on the 20gig plan, but it's not very good. Loving Hana Yori Dango right now! Matsumoto Jun! Wai!

Well no I decided I couldn't be bother and the weight of all my dvd/cds on postage was too expensive, so I ended up giving it away to a few people I knew.

And I actually most in the bin >_< what a waste…yes i know :O I just didn’t have the time to sort them out.. ..

My Internet Plan

trec:
I manage to download around 120-130 gb a month (that's with all the seeding I do) on my 1.5 Mbit/256 kbit plan with Dodo for $130 a month.
I really don't think this plan is pricey at all. It appears to cost Dodo a lot more, since the plan is no longer available.

It's waste away my money while spending my days watching K-Drama...or get a job. Such a hard decision!

DRAMAS AROUND AUSTRALIA GAME

http://www.d-addicts.com/forums/viewtop ... 488#238488

So here is where we are at... I have just read 10 pages of forum posts to see if I missed anything, and to catch up (been busy with work)... And :

Bonju - still has the dvds , hasn't passed them on and seems to have disappeared.....

If they are passed on then the next person will be Maelgwn..

I have also added tr1n1ty to the listed as requested.

Lets try and find Bonju and get him/ her to pass on the dvds, otherwise we will have to start again...

Hi! I'm from Vancouver, Canada but I will be going to Brisbane next month as an international student and will spend the next 4 years there. Doesn't seem like there's too many people from Queensland...is it because there's not many asians in Brisbane?

ipick?

I'm on that plan, and I can so far say that they're excellent. The guy that I spoke with when I churned from Netspace (Ben) was really helpful, and even gave me a call to let me know that the churn went through, the morning that it did. I've been with them for three months now, and no complaints at all.

Downtime has been almost nil, and I think that the downtime I had was my own fault - router problems and all.

In short, I like it, and wish I had been with them from the start.

Mael.

P.S. Bonju, take your time. I'm in no rush, Christmas is coming up afterall, and we're all busy.

There are some suburbs that high asian population. Inala has a vietnamese community and Sunnybank has a chinese community, if you live those areas you'll be certain to see lots of asian stores.

Thanks Ruroshin. I'm not close to Sunnybank at all...I'll be staying at Taringa. I was searching for Japanese grocery stores in Brisbane and found two near my area: J-Top's (in Taringa) and Japan Mart (in Indooroopilly). Do you know if they are any good?

i can't speakfor J-Top, but Japan-Mart is good. If yr in Taringa, then you'll be fine for both asian ppl (lots of international students at the university) and for decent food. just across the river from taringa, in west end, are several vietnamese grocers; there's at least one i can remember in toowong as well. lots of sushi places all round the place, and takeaway noodle stores too.

in town (on adelaide st, i think - i was never able to remember the streetnames in brisbane cbd) there're a couple of japanese convenience stores (and i think one korean, but i could be mis-remembering this), and in fortitude valley there're numerous asian (ie chinese. japanese, korean and/or vietnamese) delis, grocers, restaurants, cinemas and dvd stores.

Yeah if you're looking for japanese stores then head to the Fortitude Valley, there's tons. The one on Adelaide St has moved the last time I went there but that was over a few months ago.

Also another question. I know there is a thread out about dvd players which can play divx/ xvid formats with subs. But does anyone know where to get them in Melbourne or know of any better ones? Any help would be gladly appreciated
I bought one at Big W over a year ago. Just go to a normal retail/electronic shop and look for a DIVX/XVID marking on the DVD player or the Box. But...some players are better than others, so check online for some good names with reviews.

My sister uses the one I bought, and it works for the majority of subs. But only about 50% of soft sub titles work. I have no idea why some work and some don't, i've never looked into it since I prefer watching them on my PC.

aparently iinet has raise there prices and i think also their cap due to telstras wholesale price surcharge increase, and tpg same with them but existing customers dont have to pay 70 bucks for the 1.5mb 20gb plan (still 50 for them), my plan runs out at the end of the year, and i hope telstra has new plans in january or im thinkin about goin back to dialup connection

are you sure you're getting 80gb for $100 per month. I'm with internode but the price plan
you say is nowhere to be found on their site...

Not sure what ever happened to the DVD posting game.. but I'm flying to Korea for the forseeable future this time next week. So you can take my name off the list.

Thanks anyway
