Mini FAQ: Subtitles, Torrents and Videos

Post by Keiko1981 » Sep 7th, '24, 03:25

Subtitles and Videos
D-Addicts does not directly host videos. It is usually stated in the first post of a topic where the videos can be found. If you are unable to download it from the specific website, check others as it may have been shared elsewhere.

Where to Find Dramas and Subtitles

Subtitles are usually named the same as the videos they sync to, this may give you an idea of where, and what to look for.

Torrents
Use an app like qBittorent to download.
Seeders (up arrow): The number of people sharing.
Leechers (down arrow): The number of people downloading.

If no one is seeding, then you can post a seed request here

Name the topic: [Seed Req] Name of Drama

How to Watch Softsubs
Softsubs: Subtitles in ASS or SRT format.

1. Place the subtitles and videos in the same folder.
2. Make sure you have the correct video, and subtitles.
3. Make sure the the subtitles are named the exact same as the corresponding video, otherwise the subtitles won't display.
4. Open video with media player of choice. (Media Player Classic, VLC Media Player)

Archived Files
Use an app like 7-Zip to unpack files placed in a RAR or ZIP archive.

JDownloader
Is a download manager used to download files, often from file hosts, but other websites as well.

Code: Select all

http://jdownloader.org/
By doing so you can avoid all ads and being redirected who knows where, and hopefully lessen the risk of having your computer infected with something.

All you need to do is right-click "Copy link location..." and paste it into Jdownloader. You then get a list of files that can be downloaded.
You can filter things by file type or host.

Thank you for sharing. I am new and I have no idea about what to do.
Now I have to download qBittorent to open the files. But do I need to download JDownloader, and why? What does 'host' mean, is it the website that has the drama files?

I opened qbittorrent and now it says downloading the file with the sub; after that, it will be a video?

@clowngirr
You download torrents (that contain videos) with qBittorent.
Nyaa, AvistaZ (private tracker) and so on

JDownloader is a download manager. You can copy download links (Mega, Mediafire and so on) and Paste the link(s) into JDownloader. Instead of clicking various links, and may end up on sites filled with ads, or other nasty things.

To my knowledge, the name "JDownloader" has nothing to do with Jdarmas. It's just the name of the app.

Host is the website that directly keep file(s) on their servers.
