I just use a video camera to record from keyhole. while it introduces its own problems, it also somehow smooths out the keyhole picture.

I wish Keyhole was reliable, though. I wanted to watch something recently and the channel wasn't there. It was the previous day and the next day, but that did me no good.

I've been considering JPTV24 subscription, but I want to know just how it works - do you have to renew each month? I am willing to try it if so, but I really don't want to get locked into something where it automatically renews subscription, especially considering my Japanese language skills aren't so great..

Can't find it in App Store.
It's not on App Store. It's an ad hoc distribution. Search for 'i-KeyHoleTV_OS3' on Google and you should be able to find it.
I know I am digging up something from quite a long time ago, but I recently got an iPhone 4 and was hoping to find an app to watch Japanese TV. I tried downloading the i-Keyhole TV, but I keep getting an error message when syncing to my iPhone saying, "The app 'I-Keyhole TV' was not installed on the iPhone because the app signature is not valid." Does anybody know what is wrong and how to fix it? I tried downloading the files elsewhere with the mobileprovision but the error message just changes from signature to signer. Any help would be much appreciated.

http://www.gameshinbun.it/japan.aspx

It's about japanese game news etc, it's both english and italian but NOT auto-translated, it's manually written in both languages :)

I'm not really sure what this website is but it's known for streaming japanese tv and maybe other stuff, sometimes all channels work and most of the time they're down with only 2 or 3 streams working.
Also, you can watch Fuji TV & NTV here:
http://helloworldfc2.web.fc2.com/TVstream.html

I've been using this link for a while, it's not HQ but it really helps when all of gundam's streams are down :thumright:

This may be already discussed among other people and if so, I'm sorry for repeating.
With all the Japanese TV waves will be switched to "digital" in July, I wonder if the quality of the Keyhole TV will be vastly improved... Does anyone know?

Yeah or why can't keyhole tv have the same structure as tv ants so there could be sum better quality delivered. Guess it has this shitty quality because it's name is the topic. If you really look through a KEYHOLE the quality isn't any better :D

Haha let's make our own perfect keyhole tv *_*

Keep it as a secret.

Or not, I don't really care.

Was too lazy to make only one application and edit the demo channel name.

Let's see how long it will last and hope NTKTV/JPTV24 will think about using their 720x480 streams for their vod service if they update the application.

Well run a .jar, select 2ch NHK-E like you would with the original demo and then the application will load the list of recordings for the channel corresponding to the .jar name.

I updated the archive as Kantō jar applications couldn't run on some systems due to the special character 'ō'.

I guess it's not a live stream right? Is it a VOD player or something?

Some tv live streaming websites:

borama - rtsp/mms streams with embedded player (requires IE)
JP-TV - rtsp/mms streams with html based application (download)
ITV - rtsp/mms streams with html based application (download)

The stream urls are really easy to get, however the urls change from time to time, also these websites seem to share some urls/channels.
tolgacan wrote:I guess it's not a live stream right? Is it a VOD player or something?
To make it simple, yes it is a VOD application using windows media player.

If you need more informations, have a look at their website, I also think people were discussing about it around pages 40/43 of this very topic or in another one there.

Please note that I am not affiliated with NTKTV/JPTV24.

I don't know if it's the same to you, but all these streaming stop running after 10 minutes.

We have to re-start the channel every 10 minutes, it's a little boring, do you know how to correct this ?

:O well those are way better than keyhole but still a bit worse than ants tv. So a proper solution for now <3 Thank you *_*

I noticed the stops but not all channels do so?! :/ On TVAnts Asahi Tv kept stopping all the time so it is kinda the same / a good / better way than nothing/keyhole tv!

You even don't have to install it. It's an exe file. It looks a bit strange and scary but nevertheless it's quite good j tv. Sometimes you have to start a channel more than once to get a proper stream.... mhhh kinda the same as it was on tvants... o_O

I stoped to watch these streaming, it's a lot boring to re-start the channels every 10 minutes. In fact i don't watch it on my PC. I watch it on my TV so, when the channel stop, i have to re'star it. It's complicated.

I didn't have this problem with TVAnts, but the quality of these setraming are quite good.

Is that little Chinese program some sort of trialware? Streams looks nice, but you can't go fullscreen with it (that I can figure out) so I'm thinking that's a feature you get if you buy the unlocked version or something.

Also, did you guys notice Keyhole is asking for donations?

http://www.oiseyer.com/index-e.html

If I had any confidence they might actually upgrade stream quality I might throw in a few bucks, but we've had this program for years and it's basically had the same lousy quality throughout.

I'm pretty certain that the Kanto streams have been affected by the ongoing crisis within Japan. The earthquake occured at 14:46 11/03/11, and the Kanto streams end at 14:00. BS1 and BS Fuji are down, but at least there's Kansai as an alternative.

I always wonder why are passwords needed for some channels and how do you get the password? Are these private channels for friends and family only?

Zizi player

Post by jackchiroc » Mar 20th, '11, 17:29

I received the Zizi player this week and so far I'm quite happy with it, there are in all 7 japanese channels and 5 korean ones.
I have succesfully tried it on a PC running Windows 7 64 bits as well as in XP 32 bits in a VMware machine on MacOSX.
For some reason some channels are not available sometimes but globally the result is quite satisfactory for the price.
You can also record the program being watched as well as schedule recordings.
The quality is very nice, it uses around 500 kbps on average and it needs around 5 seconds for the channel to be displayed after you select it.
You also get the subtitles embedded automatically (they can be disabled).
The video can be setup in window of full screen mode.
The GUI is in English and in Japanese, depending on the locale setup for your system.
Globally a nice new option with no monthly fees.

Probably because whoever was providing the feed for that channel had their TV or internet service cut off due to the quake

If you want to watch Inazuma Eleven from TV Tokyo just use the kansai streams, there is a channel called TVO, it's the same schedule so you can enjoy it.

3/30/2011 JST New KeyHoleTV for Windows(v 3.16), Mac(v 1.36) and Linux(v 1.26) has been released. This version of KeyHoleTV tries to synchronize sound and video.

OMG, I feel so lame for just realizing this is available now.

Everything from NHK to radio to random cat cams. LOVE IT!!

Anyone have any experience using the viewer on the iPhone?

KeyholeTV works fine here today as always. FujiTV, TBS, Asahi, etc. all are streaming just fine. Streaming fine to PC & iPhone at this moment.

Hi~
I know it's maybe a stupid question, but I just began to use Keyhole TV. ^^ There are some channel that I can't watch because I don't know the passwords...does somebody knows them?
And, another question...^^ Where can I read the TV Guide in english?
Thanks

Those channels have passwords because they are private channels not for public view.
