While still watching Secret Garden, Fugitive & Marry Me Mary I just stared Sungkyunkwan Scandal, which I had only peaked before and didn't got interested but now I totally love it. ^^

Oh and almost forgot, we're starting King of Baking,Kim Tak Goo with a friend. It seemed good too.

Just started watching Athena: Goddess of War. 1st episode is good. At least it is better than IRIS.

Fugitive ended... sad. It was so good, loved it.

At the moment I'm watching Secret Garden and My lovely Sam-soon but I'm going to start Athena quite soon.

Oh, and I'm somewhere in like 8th episode of Mary Stayed Out All Night but it just... let's say not good/interesting.

I'm watching Secret Garden, Athena and The man who can't get married. I enjoy a lot watching the last one and sometimes I see myself in that situation(still single) after a few years.
MERRY CHRISTMAS AND A HAPPY NEW YEAR TO ALL!! :-)

I am still totally in Kang Dong Won mood so i started watching his 2004 drama Magic. it's quiet straight forward and a bit of cliche drama but it's not bad. I love KDW character even though he is such a jerk there and not nice at all. I still can't bring myself to hate his horrible character. not to mention that i jumped with joy when i saw Im Ju hwan for a split second in ep8 :P

dramas on weekly watch
Secret Garden, It's just pure magic  and LOVE.
Gloria is still on hold.

•MARY STAYED OUT ALL THE NIGHT it's ok but i'm watching it for kim jae wook and jang geun suk even i hate his girly look with that hair style

i think athena and secret garden gonna be the hit in this season
mary not that wow i expected it gonna be more fun rather than that

I've been a keen Bae Doo Na fan ever since I saw her in "Linda, Linda, Linda" (J-movie, recommended BTW). I watched her in the K-dorama "Someday", which was ultimately meh, but her charm carried the day, even if she had little opportunity to show off her acting skills.
What does have to do with what K-dorama I'm watching right now? Well, I WAS watching Gloria, and all I can say is, CAN I GET A REFUND OF MY TIME??
The series' ratings are (rightfully) in the basement, and it's likely getting the can in January, long before the 50-ep run is up. Even so...arrrgghh..
On the positive side, started watching Athena. It's been somewhat uneven, but at least my brain cells are getting some tickling, instead of flatlining!
Thanks for letting me vent, fellow D-addicts!

Oh, my bad....apparently most K-doramas air two separate eps every week, so Gloria is proceeding to the bitter end, after all.

That's why you should have done same as i did. I stopped watching as soon as i saw the story is going no where. as my blood pressure started to get to the roof by stupidity of the writer I thought i need some break from this mess. I still have some hope on it though. because i really liked the drama up to ep30 and like KS/JJ pairing. not to mention I still want to watch Seo Ji Suk

finished watching Magic. a total cliche based korean drama. but still made me watch it till the end with no FFing (much). I am sure is to do with magic of KDW (but he was a totally jerk and one nasty human being in the story) but i am still confused about the ending.
does he live alone or commit suicide by jumping from that cliff ?

need tp start some new ones :whistling:

Im barely gonna start Shining Inheritance this week. I just finished watching Lovers in Paris and was really liking it (even though its your typical drama) but the ending got me... :hissy:! I was really thinking of giving up watching dramas for awhile but I thought to myself, "Self, just one more time, one more time...have faith." So SI better be good!

It's been a while since I watched it but as far as I remember...
Yes, I think he did suicide based on what he spoke before it. Only thing I was wondering about was swallowing the ring though but I guess he wanted to keep it with him (in death) so he swallowed it before jumping.
Yes, the story was very fustrating and in some parts way over dramatic but somehow I liked it. And KDW ofc. :-)

Yes, i was thinking the same too.
specially because he swallowed the ring and he said his goodbyes to everyone. I felt kind of sad for him though.
over all, it was an OK drama but the sister got on my nerves in last eps.

Still watching Athena - suprised it doesn't have a discussion thread considering its popularity and monster ratings. A bit promiscuous with the violence, it's nonetheless a tasty mix of action and political and personal machinations. Nicely lensed and decently edited, which makes the film snob in me want to stand up and cheer. I can forgive the occasional lapse in logic, as long as I'm being entertained in style like this.
Just starting to view Vineyard Man, and I have the feeling I may be in for a treat.
I basically know sweet nothing about K-dorama, so keep this thread going, folks. I'm getting some good info from such knowledgeable fans.

Started Athena today. First 4 episodes were quite good. But I remember that Iris started off better. I'm full of hopes that this will be quite good and full of action.

I still haven't finished that Mary Me, Mary. It's just cruel to make people watch it but I can't withdraw in the middle, it's just not polite.

Secret garden... still got last 6 episodes.

Oh, I recently finished My Lovely Kim Sam Soon and it's average but watchable.

I've been continuining with All My Love sitcom, but I did check out a few regular dramas, too. I watched the first episodes of both Marry Me, Mary and Athena.

Marry Me, Mary is definitely confusing. I've read the synopsis and saw the first episode, but I still have no idea what it's about. I loved the scenes filmed in Hongdae, Moon Geun Young is gorgeous as always and Jang Geun Suk is awesome. Didn't really feel it yet, but might continue later.

I haven't even finished Iris yet, but I still decided to start Athena. I figured they wouldn't spoil anything anyway, since they are two separate stories. I love Jung Woo Sung and Soo Ae, but Iris' main men and that awesome North Korean were, well, awesome. I do think that Athena started on a stronger note. I don't mind the violence and the fighting scenes look well-made. The only thing that bothers me is the love-sick Jung Woo. I mean, they made it pretty clear it's a quiet day at the office, but would an agent really have time to stalk around because of some woman?! Seriously annoyed! I'm ok with every single drama having some romance in it, but could they please make it less ridiculous? :(

I gave Prosecutor Princess a chance and after surviving the loud and colorful first episode, I'm finding this drama cute.
And I'm on the LIB re-watch.
Wanted to watch My Princess, but this drama is not for me, I guess. If there is some kissy kissy involved, let me know, I may pick it up again, like PP^^ :whistling:

I'm planning on watching it, so I'll tell you if there will be any.

I'm planning on re-watching(for the 3rd time) jdrama Stand Up!

Still waiting and watching Secret Garden, Athena. And sill haven't continued Mary Stayed Out All Night. I think that I should just buy quite a lot of beer and watch those 8 episodes in one go. Probably Sunday or Saturday night.

I plan to watch in close future - Dream High, My Princess, Sorry I Love You, Maybe gonna rewatch That Fool or something, I feel like remembering the old feeling, when I watched my first kdramas... ahh, those good times... and that feeling.... there is nothing like it.

In more distant future but still gonna watch - A Love To Kill.

Let's see how much time I have, I'm watching a lot of varietys recently.

P.s. - Am I posting here too often?

Ugh, tell me about it! I've been watching Star Golden Bell for who knows how long, and now that it's over, I'm probably still going to be watching that Oh, My School! that replaced it. I've also followed Happy Together 3, and I made the mistake of starting Let's Go Dream Team. Now I'm hopelessly hooked and like another useless idol. Honestly, I shouldn't watch variety shows at all! I just start liking everyone who's a bit funny. -_- That's how I've found all my kpop obsessions!

I'm so fickle...
I was on here last week going on about Athena, but I've run out of steam . Basically, what did me in was the violence. Now, I'm all grown up and I am well aware that violent acts often further the plots in actioners, but the amount and type on display in this show makes me think the creators have some kind of fetish for it. It's relentless, graphic, sadistic, and in my opinion, often desensitized and glamourized. I didn't sign up for "torture porn lite", so I think I'll be moving on to....
Fugitive Plan B!! Just finished episode 4 and all I can say is "now that's entertainment"!
Hopefully, I'll be in love until the final chapter and not have to be fickle again.

I'm still currently watching Marry Me Mary, as I have just gotten the subs for the episodes I've already finished downloading. Still with Secret Garden and still loving it.

I have also started watching Take Care of the Young Lady, seems like a fun drama.

Will give My Princess and Prosecutor Princess a shot, when I've finished downloading it XD

I finished watching jdorama "Yankee-kun to Megane-chan" - as I´ve read the manga, then I had bigger hopes for the jdorama. The cast did great job, but the plot was weak.
Well now I came back to kdramas (it´smy second after "Playful kiss") and started to watch "You´re beautiful" - addicted again! Probably today will be a marathon. Oh no! Tomorrow is school again..... well whatever : cute guys first!

Finished I Love You, Don't Cry. 132 episodes of the two leads being stabbed in the back. I really wanted to see a murder or suicide.

Two episodes into My Princess and Sign, and starting Dream High.

The only drama I'm watching now is My Princess and I'm itching for the 3rd ep to get posted.

On a side note, is Secret Garden good? Also, Mary Stayed Out Late? I've been contemplating to watch those two. Are they worth it? :-)

I`m currently watching Temptation of wife, and have about 30 eps left. I`m waiting/hoping for a sad ending, because it would fit the mood of the drama, the first 30 episodes were such a pityfest...

just finished My Sweet City, and it was good, oh so good.

I'm watching Dream High and My Princess. Also Cinderella's Sister - unbelievably sad but so good. Are you enjoying it? I'm up to episode 9 and I don't think there's been a tear-free episode for me. Love Moon Geun Young in this.

Exactly my tought when i started watching A love to kill, but unfortunately it doesnt keep the pace, particularly the latter half but thats usual in kdramas. But i tought it was still good.

Personally, i just finished Secret Garden, but from whats currently airing i cant seem to get interested in any. Watching right now Green Rose, Cain and Abel and just finished Coffee House. Finally i'm enjoying a little more Lee Da Hae's acting, cause i wasn't properly a fan.

I'm currently watching Secret Garden (pc) and Baker King (on local tv).
Both are great so far. Almost halfway through Secret Garden. I super love Hyun Bin's role!

Just finished Coffee House and My Girlfriend is a Gumiho,

Next in my drama list will be Athena (I watched IRIS because of this) and My Princess (I'm liking Kim Tae Hee's bubbly role from what I've seen in the first quarter of episode 1.) :)

Both are great so far. Almost halfway through Secret Garden. I super love Hyun Bin's role!

Just finished Coffee House and My Girlfriend is a Gumiho,

I'm just finished one of the best series so far Secret Garden and currently watching My Princess, starting on Dream High too.

Middlefour, how's Coffee House and My Girlfriend is a Gumiho? worth watching?

Since Queen of Reversals ends next week (probably 2 eps on Tuesday), I need something new to watch that will not age me like that drama (I didn't know I can curse in so many languages, most of them are not even languages, I guess). And as I dropped both Dream High and My Princess (sorry, but plot-wise those dramas are just... plain, using the euphemism), I need something badly.
Started President and like it so far. Is anyone watching New Tales of Gisaeng?

I only watch one drama at a time, cuz I get mad confused with the plots..

but, I just finished Secret Garden and you could pretty much say I'm in love with it and so depressed that its finished DX.

And I just watched the 1st ep. of Paradise Ranch and that's going pretty good-ish.

I just started President and sadly finished as I have only translation for first six episodes. But I would say is the best drama so far. And great example that plot can be interesting enough to not need any pretty faces to back it up. But as it is mostly about besides the scene political machination I do not expect it to be popular.
Do anyone know where I can find more subtitles?

Oh, President is great, it is.
Sadly, from what I know, only KBS World subs its own drama and releases every epiosde every week or two, so it's slow. And yes, pity that drama with a solid and heavy plot and good acting is not that popular as MM... whatever.

I started on Phoenix, and even though I know how it ends, this one I won't drop.

Watching one of those weekend family dramas. Called ' All About Marriage.'

The main story is pretty blah and the lead lady is pathetic. However the older actors are wonderful especially the MIL. A good MIL by the way. There are several 'families' to follow some being couples. It is interesting to see how Korean directors deliver when they have more than one plot to deliver.
Also catching a few episodes of 'Flames of Passion' Lots of well known actors and very dramatic. Big business and chaebol family with truly evil daughter in law. Lots of machinations between the daughters in law who are trying to boost their husbands to succeed businesses of the old father. Deceit and love affairs and past errors abound. I think the son of the evil lady is the only wholesome and innocent character. She dotes on him..even tho there is a mystery about him. Oh it's a mad mad mad mad world in that house.

Given up on MMM despite my love of Kim Jae Wook. Just can't take that girls voice. She must be 30 going on six years old. Shudder.

Seeing lots of variety shows and lots of Japanese documentaries. Most interesting and beautiful.

And which girl are you talking about?
OK, ok, I'll play nice^^

All About Marriage... I put that on hold, although Lee Jong Hyuk is so nice and fine. I stopped at ep 26 (or around), but I will be back to this once I finish my other 50+ episodes dramas^^
Flames of Ambition never appealed to me, so I dropped that.

And may I ask what kind of documentaries?

Stories about the gardens of Kyoto
Stories about country temples.
Just finished one about a temple which was giving home and Buddhist teachings to boys who were unhappy with their home life or otherwise in emotional pain. Sixteen boys from around five to about fifteen. Most interesting and rather uplifting. They may not all stay to be monks so there is no coercion. Such happy faces and what smiles. This in Korea.
Some Japanese docs. about age old family businesses. Small shop where man is making watches that have to be wound up every day.( I still wear one like that) Unique items.
Same with chopsticks. Hundreds of them in open boxes arranged beautifully on shelves. Not just wooden ones as used in restaurants. Ivory and lacquered ones.
The graduation of a maiko to becoming a geiko. Much preparation for costume and makeup and especially hair ornaments. Family there to see their daughter's success. Part of ceremony closed off to all but girl and her mentors.
Battlefields during Sekigahara conflagrations.

etc.etc.etc. that is all I can remember right now. But you know...

I've been stuck in variety shows again, after finishing My Girlfriend is a Gumiho and Secret Garden. But I am planning to continue Dream High just because of Wooyoung and Taecyeon... if I get myself motivated enough. ^^

Oh and started Coffee House with a friend. Kang Ji Hwan is so charming. I also like Park Si Yeon, she has so different role compared to When Spring Comes, where I saw her last time. Gotta love these two.

President is part of special project for WITH2S so this is my source of subtitles. Good thing they like to have some less popular but more valuable pieces on table too. But as it seems I will drop it for now (and wait for all subtitles to be ready) as plot is complicated enough to be better to follow on regular bases not randomly as it is now, pitty as I'm really interested in development so far. And of course the party who ordered shooting in first episode (wife family? she herself? if it'ssecond I will be disapointed, so melodramatic)
Maybe some other dramas as this one? Solid plot with political issue involved or it could be business one, not too much romance? Help? Going to start Lobbyst but I'm little afraid that romans part and revenge will be too strong comparing to "lobbing" part :lol
I'm watching My Princess but I do not know why? Still interested in ending and all but I can see weakness of plot and actors. And I started to wish this main gay to be bad one and plotting. Right now he looks like trying to seduce her but with very weak way. Which is totally stupid - scenario weakness or actor- difficult to decide.
And waiting for end of Queen of Reversal to decide, it better be good one :glare:

Done with Life is Beautiful, was really a lovely drama. Soothing and touching. Thanks for the rec, unni!! Never would have expected family dramas to be this good!

Now I'm hooked on My Princess :lol Can't explain it but I came to love it thus far. It has a similar effect Goong had on me - I don't care about logic or originality, I just want to keep watching on and on :D

Also started on Queen of Reversals - first two eps were bland put it picked up and some admirable jerk entered the spotlight ;) Not sure about it yet, but due to some recs I'm excited about how it'll turn out^^

And just for a certain pair of irresistible eyes, I got motivated to give Road No1 a second try, hope I'll manage to finish it this time :lol

Dropped Athena, there's neither much of an interesting plot nor do the characters appeal to me. Ah I wish I could see the CSWs in another rom-com soon ;)

Finally forced myself to finish the last couple of eps of Marry Me, Mary!
I like Moon Geun Young, but this show was terrible. I think you'd have to be a hardcore fan of one of the actors to enjoy this show.

Finally I am hearing nice things about "Harvest Villa". I thought maybe I was the only one who saw it. Do not believe or trust anyone you see in that drama, except for our clueless hero. Pure fun. I hope you are watching it because of feedback from me. Lee Bo Young who stars in Villa was also in Birth of a Rich Man which was showing the same weeks as Villa.
As for who likes Marry me Mary, they have to be related to or someones mom to like that one.
Took a break from My Princess and switched to the Japanese side to watch Nagareboshi and let My Princess build up a bit, I hate waiting..
We leave for Japan in April so I have to brush up on what little Japanese I know.
