Well yeah, the overwhelming majority of Johnnies members' fans are girls.

For guys in Japan (and Japanese guys abroad) it's a little bit taboo to openly admit being a fan of Johnnies. Sort of associates you with being feminine and stuff.

I assume most of his fans are female. I'm male and I like his acting. He can do a variety of roles pretty well, but I like him best at comedies. He practically carried NwP (Nobuta wo Produce) on his back. Think how boring it would have been without his Akira character.

Except for aSmap. In Japan almost everybody likes them, even many boys admitted that in front of me. One of my male best friends likes Yamapi a lot. Not that he's attracted by him but he admires him as his Idol.

Its not suprising for me to see male fans. Every idol has both gendered fans. Even if its only 1 guy. :P

Yamapi is so awesome. Of course, some guys admire him.

Hi getsuga

You should change your poll question to what sex you are instead of gender. Here's why?

 GENDER is socially constructed. Therefore a male can call himself a girl or a woman.

 SEX is biological. Therefore, if you say are you "male" and "female" then it should say what sex you are.

:-)

Ok, well, that difference is somehow insignificant, anyway. :D

EDIT: Could't change the polling title, but I managed to change the thread title. :)

AWH! Thanks for changing it, even if you think it was insignificant. :whistling: :D
I voted! I won't say which one though. :whistling:

XD ~ Well I'm going to resurrect this thread because its just the most ridiculous one I have ever heard!

But I do wonder  Seriously I am stumped I have always wanted to know if Yamapi had more Male or Female fans? I always thought Yamapi had more male fans because cuz well thats kinda obvious :roll (If you must know cuz younger Johhny's are well feminine in nature...I wonder if they are neither here or there? :fear:)

On the same note I wonder? Oh I wonder if Jun has more female fans? What about Shun or Toma? Hmmm Maki I think has more Female fans and don't get me started on Nagase! The stallion!

I hate it when I'm this obvious but :roll ...On a more serious note I think Mao has more female fans...

^ I'm not denying that Yamapi has male fans. The whole topic just seems ridiculous...seriously why not open one that says which sex makes up the majority of Jun fans or Toma fans etc...Its glaringly obvious that Yamapi would have more female fans (Not unless he turns out gay then in which case its anyone's guess XD)

Anywho lets do discuss this very important matter, so people what sex are you? I voted Male :D ~ Lets show the world that he has more male fans and go against the expected result!

yup as I thought, girls has the majority.

But you really can't be sure, I mean.. on one hand, how many people participated in this thread? how many can access the site without registration? how many have thought only about the answer with no actual voting?

On the other hand you have the Japanese fans you probably couldn't reach AND foreigner fans in countless places.

and what's with the feminine thing????

MY point of view: I like his character and personality, the smallest word that would just "start" describing his charm is: warm... His actions are manlier then anyone I'd ever seen in his situation, not older nor younger people, but the same level as he is. In the industry that is.

SORRY if it's a bit too long .. >_< .. ~

:lol
I just read this, I guess I have too much time or I look for things to distract me from work.
So, I agree that it is obvious, just try to go to the concerts!
SMAP is past young idol age so I dare to say they are around long enough to be liked by everobody interested (and for people to admit it without embarsement, not that I understand why you should be if you like the guy)
And as somebody speculated about sexual orientation and how it could influance split between fans, I think it would not much. Some will join becouse they are yaoi fans or they are homosexual themself (which is stupid reason if you ask me but whatever), some will go becouse they are not tolerant.
Ah, I should answer, hm.. I still like him but mostly because of sentiment (my first idol love :lol ), he is not so great actor and singer but he has a lot of personal charm. And he is handsome :whistling:
