Ok, i always wanted to start a new Tomoya's drama thread and here is my chance.

at the moment, not lots of Info but here what we got so far (thanks raven_frost for the info

New Tomoya drama - I just can't wait!!!

The story sounds extremely intriguing, hope it will turn out just as awesome as I'm imagining right now

I really love swindler characters, so it's going to be wonderful to see Tomoya playing someone like that

Nagase becomes a superspy in new drama

TOKIO's Tomoya Nagase is starring in a new drama on NTV next season. The show, currently untitled, is described as a comedy revolving around a superspy character.

Nagase plays Kyosuke Yoroi, a swindler serving a 30-year sentence after being caught for more than a dozen cases of fraud. However, the government sees that Kyosuke's skills can be put to use, so it arranges for his release under the condition that he becomes a spy to help fight against terrorists. His character is a bit clumsy and gets easily carried away, but he also possesses athleticism and sex appeal.

Each episode will tell one story, with different guests appearing each week. As part of his spy work, Nagase will be dressing up in various disguises, such as a pilot, a doctor, and a Korean actor resembling Bae Yong Joon. He will also be equipped with an array of gadgets, such as a ring that turns into a pistol and a shoe that doubles as a cell phone.

With Nagase filling in the "James Bond" role, his spy team will also have a beautiful "Bond girl"-type character named Dorothy.

Ryoichi Kimizuka is in charge of the screenplay. NTV will start airing the series in July, putting it in the network's Saturday 9:00pm time slot.

I read this on Tokyograph this morning and I'm so excited for this drama. And dramawiki lists Fukada Kyoko as one of the cast members, so she might be casted for the role of Dorothy. Sweet! I know what drama is going to be my favorite next season...

OMG Fukakyon with Nagase it would be awesome! but i think there is no confirmation yet

and i'm worried too about subs for this drama (i know is too soon lol), i hope someone pick this project *i wanted to know Japanese language at times like this*

if this true, it would be her 2nd time acting with tomoya after Futari in a drama. i like their pairing alot.

i was also wondering about getting a theme song by TOKIO. they have not released anything since amagase and it's about time. TOKIO do release theme song every time any of their member stars in a drama, so this one should be no exception.

and I am very confident that this drama will be picked up by one fansub group for sure.
It's so hard to wait for July to come.

Since I've learned about this series I've been anticipating it the most for this summer! I missed Nagase. Utahime was ages ago (or so it seems to me)!
Also I love spoofs and spies so this drama is guaranteed to entertain me for sure!

According to tokyograph the female lead will be Anna.

Model and actress Anne (23) will be taking on her first heroine role in a television series this summer. She has been cast as the female lead in NTV's spy comedy that stars Tomoya Nagase.

Anne's character is a reporter for an evening newspaper, who is also the daughter of a family that runs a restaurant in Nagase's neighborhood. She becomes part of the spy team under the name Dorothy. Because Anne has an international modeling career, the show's producer felt that she would be a good choice for the "Bond girl" role.

Wow he's acting with Anne Watanabe.. lol talk about coming full circle. Nagase in IWGP with Ken Watanabe was one of the best on/off "pairing" lol.

Hopefully she can act

. Nagase had awesome with sweet looking girls like Saki Aibu and Aragaki Yui.. Dunno about Anne Watanabe.. she looks more like Iron Face Teacher bwahaha....

It’s a pleasure to see that this group picked up the drama.

As for Anne, besides her carrier as an international model there aren’t much news around, only a few bits f.i. at wiki’s like about her age (23) and three movies she was involved in. But doesn’t that mean she must have some acting skills? Guess we just have to wait and see ourselves if she really was “a good choice”.
At least I know she doesn’t always look like an “Iron Face Teacher”.

Dorothy, Osamu, Alice and Josephine are written in katakana, so I typed them in italic. I'm predicting the character's names in katakana are spies, and that their names are just code names.

had only announce Nagase, Fukada and ANNE. But Wiki is accurate and reliable most of the time. It only makes mistake 20% of the time, I think. Wikipedia has also listed Hayami Mocomichi and Karina as Katori Shingo's co-stars in KochiKame BEFORE the official announcement was out... and around 1-2 days later, the official news came out^^ So let's just hope this list is also true

All the names save for Nagase, Fukakyon and Anne (3 names which have been already been confirmed, of course) have been removed from Japanese wiki. New name added - Watari Tetsuya for the prime minister. Do bear in mind that anyone with a registered account can edit any Wiki entries.

Too bad because it would have been awesome having Takada Junji as a prime minister.

We don't know that yet, for sure, the official news today had only announce the actor who play the prime minister's role. Just keep your fingers crossed that the one you want to be true is true^^ There's still possibility that some of the names listed in wiki yesterday is true, even if they're just a rumor.

According to WIKI, Nabeatsu will be Kurusu Ken'ichi, Fujiwara will be OSAMU and Tomochika will be ALICE. So we can scratch Akanishi, Mukai and Ishibashi Anna from the list already. Seem like the other casts announced previously on WIKI are wrong too.

Yep, Mao-chan! I see her name mentioned in the text at the bottom. She's also confirmed to be in four more tv magazines released the same day. Just read that she is a guest for only one episode (ep1).

I haven't seen a torrent, but I think it came out on the 18th, so. . . it should be available for viewing/downloading soon. Has a sub group picked this one up? Last I heard, it was still not picked up by a group.

You should check the fansub map for this info. Two groups are planning on subbing it and announced their intentions early on.

I did get my hands on one raw version last night. But I can't put it up, because the person who converted to 1280x720p forgot to de-interlace it. The video looks terrible. I hope to fix it and put something up soon.

The first show is long, 1 hour and 30 minutes and the raw was 3 gigabytes.

I saw it yesterday. Right before the broadcast, my connection was cut off, so I had to sprint and pay for it to come back on time, but I made it. And the fact makes me happy.

As for the Pilot - it was a thorough introduction with some action. Nagase looked really good and in perfect shape (some people seem to pay great attention to the looks, so don't worry). The whole atmosphere reminded me that of MBMH, but I can't say something definite yet.

Only that I'm all bubbly inside. And that preview for the second episode was hilarious.

I don't like to be the first to express my opinion on something like this because I'm not good at it. But I'm really glad for NagaTomo. Though I keep expecting some uber-serious role from him, I'm quite satisfied with this current progect as a good portion of humor is always more than welcome. Besides, I've missed his new works so much that "Heaven's Door" and "Spy" are like "manna from Heaven" (Nagase's own words from the movie *lol*)

I like it pretty much so far though I've managed to understand like 1/4 of what they were saying. Really looking forward to the second episode.

There was a video-game called "No one lives forever" about a female what's-her-name-super-spy. This drama has some bits of that same style - like Dorothy's outfits, some kind of colorful retro. It adds to the plot's charm greatly.

Just finished watching ep1
even though it was quiet long for ep1 and i thought they could have cut it shorter, but i still enjoyed it.

it was a weird a drama to be honest. with a mixed themes of of Austin Power, James Bond and Pulp Fiction, it was very amusing and fun to watch. it also remineded me of MBMH alot. specially thoese scenes in prison and Yorio funny faces through out the ep.

but i think, we can say that it is a japanese version of Austin Powers movies that suitable for all ages (more or less

)

but, isn't a bit odd for a spy to have James Bond ringtone on his mobile?

Kyoko as Dorothy was so adorable. i always liked her when she is paired up with tomoya and this time is no exception.

is it me only or other thought of leader when you werewatching mr bomber k. he was very creepy to be honest. poor leader.

and Yes, for "some people who seem to pay great attention to the looks" (great reading on TNT btw

, but i think it's a girly thing to drol over your fav actor when he is in his hottest look

), Tomoya looks as gorgeous as Makio in MBMH.

Ep1 looked pretty decent. I personally like the pairing of slapstick humor with the copycat visual themes. As bad as that should sound, I think that's where the appeal of this show is going to be (for me at least), and it definitely brings out Nagase's character for sure.

As for the cast, I would say that Nagase (duh) and Terajima Susumu's characters stood out the most. Their (mostly humorous) dialogues, especially those between the two of them, definitely got most of my attention for ep1. Another character worth mentioning would be that of Watanabe Anne. Seeing her in a drama for the 1st time, I'm surprised by how natural she was in her acting/talking. She should get more air time over Fukada Kyoko IMO.

Other than that, I felt the other characters could've be played by anyone else.

All in all, I would definitely keep watching this. I can only hope that future episodes are not humor-deprived.
