Re: whats wrong with streaming site?
The hate is because of their blatant disregard for the fansubbers, which shows not respect. While groups have protested against streaming on youtube, veoh, crunchroll, mysoju, etc, I haven't really known them to put a line in especially for ONE site. That they did and DC STILL posted it shows a blatant disregard for the fansubber who created the subs.nad067 wrote:now,i've just finished watching ghost friend at dramacrazy subbed by .... and in there the subbers added a message drama<s>****</s> crazy bla bla bla

If you like the drama and you enjoyed the fansubs, I suggest you stop going to DC and download it instead. That's the least you can do to show your appreciation and understanding that a lot of time and effort was put into subbing this drama: by respecting that the fansubber never wanted it to be streamed, and especially not on DC.

Next time I will add a moving text for whole duration of the drama. 'Cause I can.

how about one that moves not only sideways, but also bounces up and down, too?sungie wrote:Next time I will add a moving text for whole duration of the drama. 'Cause I can.
Sure, it'll obstruct the people's faces every odd second, but with pixelated streaming these days, it wouldn't make a difference, right?
.....no, but seriously, moving text throughout the duration of an episode doesn't sound too bad. I'm all for it.
Re: whats wrong with streaming site?
Oh, I so think you should! It would be interesting to see what would happen (if anything) and so funny to have DC (and others) with vids blasting them running throughout.sungie wrote:Next time I will add a moving text for whole duration of the drama. 'Cause I can.

They are breaking one of the most important fansubbing rules. They ignore everyone's messages and even though they know they shouldn't be streaming these files they just don't care.
And actually they are streaming copyrighted material which is illegal and they are making money through ads from people like you.
Is that not enough?

Sad to see this threads take attention from the more productive petition thread. nad067, your obviously someone who does not give a **** about the feelings of the very people that sub the dramas you enjoy. Its because of lazy, indifferent people like you that, one day, many Fansubbers will quit Fansubbing.

Hmm... I've got a pron file someone sent me a long time ago starring a Han Ga-In lookalike. I'd bet that would really spice up those Terms of Endearment uploads.......groink wrote:Maybe we should add some hard core porn at various spots in the episodes. I can get a hold of some good Kishi Aino material - the likes of Dailymotion and Veoh would enjoy that content.

And no, they are not doing a good job. The videos look like crap and they did it all without a fansubber's permission.
Oh, I agree on messing up the videos. That'd be hilarious!

I think the OP's question is legitimate. From a viewer's POV, some still prefer to watch from streaming sites because you can watch it at once without having to store the file on your pc. Not everyone has the patience to download a torrent and not everyone is that particular about quality. I prefer quality though.
So what's wrong with streaming sites?
Let's maybe not talk about the illegality issue. It'll only explode back in our faces. :o)
The biggest reason, I believe, is because streaming sites give fansubbers too much exposure that it puts them under the radar of the broadcasting networks and that spells big trouble for everyone.
You notice that streaming sites always have disclaimers like, they use outside sources and such. So when the broadcasters find their shows there, all the site has to do is take them down. On the other hand, the source of the file may get pounced on more directly.
If the fan-subber gets in trouble, no more subbed dramas for us. If the streaming sites want to share these shows so badly because they earn from them, they should do their own subbing work and share them at their own risk as was suggested earlier on.
In fairness though, I discovered D-addicts through crunchyroll.com. I wonder how many of us were actually led toward "torrenting" through these streaming sites. Just a thought. I guess it can really get logically complicated.
