This season is full of interesting stuffs. I'm getting poisoned of those: Atashinchi no Danshi, BOSS, Konkatsu, Ghost Friends.

Thank you, Madsen I went to fansub wiki, they will sub it. Yatta

I like her and some other j-actresses too.

Without subtitles, I doesn't matter, I'll watch raw, and then 2 or 3 years after, when I can eventually master my jpnese.... it'd be great

Let's see...
First, thanks to Attention Please, I know her and then like her... But thanks to Hotelier, her name is in my fav actresses list. But after watching Celeb to Binbo Taro... for me, it's her best drama, at least till now.
She has a very strong chemistry with Yusuke. She and him are really funny, friendly and they always smile gently too.

So... I vote for Celeb to Binbo Taro.

I've seen "Hotelier", which was my first drama. I really liked it and because it was my first, it'll always have a special place in my heart.

Second drama, for me, was "Attack No. 1". I really liked the show. Very different role than she had in "Hotelier", which pleased me.

Third drama was "Attention Please". I watched the show and loved it! First special was awesome, but the second was even better for me. I hope they'll make a third special this year, although I highly doubt it.

Fourth drama was "Kou Kou Kyoushi 2003". This drama is, in my personal opinion, the best drama I've seen so far. I love the story. I love the chemistry between Hina and Koga and I absolutely HATE the fact that it ended... I've read that there is a Special, but I can't find it... help, anyone?

And the fifth drama is "Celeb to Binbo Taro". I've seen the first two episodes now and I really like how Aya plays the spoiled little girl you'd just love to hate. Although you can't hate her because she's awesome! Third episode is downloading at a sloooooooow speed, which I DO hate! No spoilers, please :)

But neither of those drama's were my first encounter with Aya. I saw her in "Azumi". I instantly liked her, and watched "Azumi 2: Death or Love". After that, I started watching drama's. Azumi 3, please?

And yes, that's one of the things I like so much about Aya. She has the ability to play so many different roles. And she does it so believeably. When she laughs, I laugh. When she cries, I feel sad (I'm a man, I never cry). Don't you all feel the same way?

Ah~ I didn't watch Kou Kou coz, I dun like seeing Aya in this role and I dun like the story neither. But I'd like to be convinced by you :-)... tell me something :-)

Talking about Attention Please, I will never forget all my stomachache coz of her stupidities... All the drama, all 2 sp are splendid.

Ah, If you like Attack No1, I'm sure u will like Ace wo Narae too, somehow, I think Ace wo Narae is a bit more interesting, but the SP is some kind of unrealistic... but like it though :lol

In Celeb to Binbo, I think no one would hate her role, keep on watching it, u'll agree with me.
I download a french sub version, so I can't help you in seeding... sorry~

Haha, I didn't remember what make me know Aya... but my first impression about her is the 1st SP Hawaii version of Attention Please

I dun like her role in Azumi, so much blood...
Btw, did u watch Install, a very interesting movie.

The story in Kou Kou Kyoushi 2003 is amazing. Why? Because it is so dramatic. There is humour, of course. But the main focus is on drama. It deals with death as well as life. What would you wish for if you knew you would die soon? Would you be selfless? Or selfish? The story deals with the concept of prostitution and the effect of it on people surrounding the girl in question. It deals with the past of a teacher. A broken teacher. The story deals with fear, love, dependance, happiness and cancer.

There is so much in this drama I can't even begin to describe it. That's also the reason why this post is so messed up. I just want to ask you to watch it. I bet you will love it...

Wow people in this thread sure like Aya lol. That's ok though, because I'm that way too.

I've been a fan of her's ever since I watched Attention Please. I'm basically going through all of her old stuff one by one now.

I just wish someone would translate the rest of Abarenbo Mama. She's quite kawaii in that.

And I can't wait for Konkatsu either!

BTW I'm surprised people thought Celeb to Binbo Taro was one of her best dramas, because of all the jdoramas I've watched, it's the one I hate the most. I mean Aya was great it in, as were most of the cast. It's just the story was the biggest mess I've seen. The twist near like episode 7 or 8 just felt tacked on and like the change in personality for the characters doesn't seem to fit at least for me. I have more stuff I hate but I'll just leave the spoilers out. I hope it's not a spoiler to say that there's a twist :-p I guess it isn't because I didn't say what the twist was haha.

My favorites of Aya's shows are seasons 6 & 7 of 3 nen B gumi Kinpachi Sensei. In season 6 she is a member of class 3B, and returns for some episodes in season 7, too.
Another favorite is Attention Please.

@Civ2boss: Haha, so you hate Celeb to Binbo :lol But perhaps it's your impression after watching it once. If you don't mind, try to watch it twice, I'm sure u'll enjoy it.

Really, really, I love Celeb to Binbo. Not only because Aya was great in it, the story was also very amusing.
It's a comic drama, of course, it made me laugh so much. But also I can't help but crying at some scenes, which I remember the most is when Alice and her children thought Taro will go too Africa, but at the end, he ran back... plus the song at this moment...
I swear you, I cried until the eps ended, the player stop, but I couldn't stop crying. I didn't cry because it's sad, but there is some kind of happy, I was relieved that he's returned, not only for his children, but for Alice too.
And thinking that Alice has changed her mind, being honest with her emotions, call him back... but she still dunno it's love. I love this part so much. They, Yusuke and Aya, were so great... they are absolutely a perfect couple for that season of drama.

@UsagiYojimbo: I couldn't watch Kinpaichi, there is no seeder, it's stuck for 3 months. Finally I gave up...

@chocoasaurus:

Yeah I actually came to like most of it especially scenes like the one you mentioned, however I just thought that twist near the end just ruined it for me. If it weren't for that, I would have loved the entire thing.

If I could have rated it in two parts, I would give the first part like a 7 and the end part like a 1. lol yes a 1, I hate it that much!

i'm glad to see many aya fans here.
i started to like her last year, my first drama of hers is celeb to binbo taro.
its nice to see her appear in different outfits everytime shes on screen.
although the storyline is a little confusing.

lately, i watched hokaben and attention please.
shes very lively in ap while quite demure in hokaben.

i've started on abarenbo mama, kou kou kyoushi and hitonatsu no papa e.

Hi, sorry to intrude.

I am an Ueda fan and probably by now you know he is in Konkatsu! with Ueto and Nakai, i have not seen activity around Naki's thread but this one is moving a lot, so i wanted to ask if any of you is planning on creating a Konkatsu! thread in Drama's section since there is non yet to comment on the drama.
I ask because as she is a main character i think it should be someone of her of Nakai's thread who opened it, i have never done one but as Ueda fan i'd do it if none of you is willing.

It is us members who create the threads, that's why i asked in the thread of the main actress

I think everyone can do it, and later on on updates or so those who visit can help, the opener at the most would need to update with those informations...

Hokaben, Abarenbo Mama Subs

Post by usarusan » Apr 14th, '09, 23:16

Hi Everyone

I´m new here and i´m happy about the Aya Ueto thread. I really like her acting and am a big fan of her. Unfortunately there are some subs I can´t find on this site or anywhere in the web. I need subs of Hokaben and Abarenbo Mama. I would be very grateful if anyone has the complete subs of these dramas and could send them to me via e-mail!
If there is anyone who owns them, please post a comment and I will give you my e-mail address!

@usarusan

I don't know the quality of these but they are ripped from the Malaysian DVDs of Hokaben:
http://www.d-addicts.com/forum/viewtopic_62405_45.htm

There is someone from TISK that is supposedly translating Abarenbo Mama, but I don't know when this will happen. I hope it's soon.
You can read more about it on the site:
http://thisiskawaii.com/index.php?optio ... mid=13&p=6

TISK might also be translating Hokaben and releasing it too:

Album release is July 8th and the first press edition comes with a DVD and a photo book, if I remember it right. Most Japanese shops already started accepting pre-orders on Friday.

Only a bit more than 2 months to go... ^^
