Check split parts set of files having all the same filename, except for the extension at the end of the file name (.001, .002, .003, etc.) .

Try splitting files in your PC (not the ones you downloaded) and joining the parts back together again?

if it doesn't work with hjsplit you can do it like me and use FFSJ: The Fastest File Splitter and Joiner, i had a problem with HjSplit in the past but with this program i never had any problem, so i recommend ^__^

i use 'cat [source-files] > [dest-file]' unter linux. is fast and simple for few parts. :)
