Subtitle download
Subtitle download
Can someone help figure out how to download subtitles for Mirai Nikki? I click on the subtitle to download the .srt but it will not download the file. It just opens the .srt file to view the text only. It will not download the file. I tried other subtitles and it does the same thing. I have download subtitles from this sight before with no problems. Does anyone have an idea to correct this?

You asked about the srt of episode 1 from http://www.d-addicts.com/forum/viewtopic_109321.htm
Save ep01.srt with right mousebutton (save as) and open it with a text editor. now go to the line 363 and edit the typo of the start time
change from
to
Some editor can be confussed by the mix of newline coding in this file
Everything is written in the subtitle thread

I have the exact same issue with these files-
http://www.d-addicts.com/forum/viewtopic_132371.htm
For both the 720p files, all I see are the dialogue texts. Download for the ep1 396p subs worked - too bad there is none for ep2.
Still hoping for a solution.

@piboi: checked the subs from http://www.d-addicts.com/forum/viewtopic_132371.htm
for episode 1 both files are identical. only different names, funny
did you see the the dialogue text in the browser?
Then you should download with right click 'save as' and give the subs a proper name.

K361,
It looks like when I right click and save as the file isn't saving everything. When I open up the .srt file it is only showing subtitle up to about 3:21 minutes of subs. I'm really not sure what is going on. I use to just download the .srt file with know problem. I haven't downloaded from the D-Addicts site in a while. I never had to right click and save as. I was running Windows XP before and now I'm running Windows 7. I'm using Windows Media Player to view the MP4.
This is how I have the files named:
Mirai_Nikki_01.srt
Mirai_Nikki_01.MP4

@ap: It is UTF-8 because of the ! in line 848
UTF-8 is used by many subtitle and W7 system. Is this really a problem
@Flattop:
Add BOM to file, try again
check UTF-8 support by windows 7
http://superuser.com/questions/221593/w ... nd-unicode
Flattop, please give feedback. If possible install a other player (vlc, gom)
Flattop, is the downloaded file (that only goes to minute 3:21) smaller than 20kb?

I got the subs to work. This is what I did. The subs would not work with Media Player so, I downloaded VLC as you suggested. The subtitles work with VLC player. I still have some older files that the subs work with Media player. I guess it is hit or miss on some of the files. Will continue to use VLC player. Oh Yea! I downloaded your sub-UTF8 with BOM.srt. Thanks for all your help.
Flattop.

I know iconv under linux, but there should be some tools for windows 7.
Maybe some editor can convert to proper utf-8 or ASCII.
did the ASCII or with_bom version work for media player?
can you please give feedbeack for future reference.
