How do I embed subtitles in a movie ?

Post by dann123 » Dec 21st, '10, 12:10

I've developed subtitles for a movie, now I want to embed it. How do I do it ?
Is there any software which can help me in this or any trick ?

With MKVToolnix (http://www.bunkus.org/videotools/mkvtoolnix/) you can easily mux together movie files with subtitle & audio tracks, they'll be softcoded and stashed in a MKV container together with the movie file, no re-encoding needed so the process is really quick.

Most fansubbers use Aegisub (http://www.aegisub.org/). It is very sophisticated, and now works on Macs, too, although the Mac version seems a bit buggier than the PC version.
