Yes it was horrible. They totally Americanized it. They changed the OST music dubbed the voices with hip-hop singer's voices. I can't stand it.

I tried watching it then I put it on mute. That's how annoying it was. Its as thought they said to themselves "Who has the most annoying voices in the music industry? Yeah, lets use them." Don't waste you time.

it's crazy: mtv mixed all the scenes up plus they cut the whole movie from about 2 hours to only 1 hour
if you want only action i guess try out the mtv version
but
if you wanna watch the whole story get the k version (also w/o some annoying american voices)

I can't stand english dubbed asian movies. They always seem to pick voices that don't even come close to what the original actors sound like, and it's annoying as hell when the audio doesn't match their lips. Kills getting involved with the story for me. Give me the original audio, and I'm happy to read my English subs...

I rented the original from a korean video store. Don't know if it was the bad recording but I couldn't finish watching it.

I bought it on dvd off of ebay. I think its a pretty good movie. It was the first thing I had ever watched that was korean. I saw the previews for it on mtv but I missed the movie when it aired on mtv so I'm really not sure what that was like.

I agree teh dubbing was pretty terrible. I would also like to find where I could download the original movie with subtitles. MTV did a terrible job. :cussing:

The point was that MTV took Whasango, chopped it's balls off, and called it "An MTV Original Movie, Volcano High..."

Like Kim said, go find a version that's called Whasango, not Volcano High. The original is so much better, so so much better! :-)

Actually, Whasango translated from Korean is Volcano High. You can still find versions out there under "Volcano High."

A better rule of thumb to follow is to avoid any version of the dvd that has all the rappers (Snoop Dogg and the rest) in front. Any other version should be kosher.

I totally agree - after all, even though Volcano High was a bad dub, it introduced me into the hotness that is Kwan Sang Woo...and was the gateway to me learning about K-dramas.

Ah-ha-ha-ha! :lol I remember seeing 'Volcano High' on MTV one day I was all like: "What? Asian people on MTV!?".......then they started talking-----first I laughed a little, then I changed the channel. Why'de they dub it over with rappers? :glare:

....wow, that was a long time ago, I didn't even watch doramas back then (didn't listen to Thai music, or even have a computer either :lol )

I had no idea that MTV remade Volcano High. That movie was the first korean movie that i've ever seen. I thought it was funny, but not amazing.
