Happy Chinese New Year to everyone!

I think this Year of the pig will be a good year.
I have 3 people who are born in the year of the pig in my family. My older brother and 2 cousins, all different ages.

I think its to differentiate between the normal new year we celebrate. It would probably be more appropriate to say lunar new year.

it's also because there are other New Year days for different Asian countries. not everyone goes by the same lunar calendar as the Chinese. i believe Japan and Cambodia celebrate at different times. and also, since most of the world tends to go by the Gregorian calender, it'd be pretty Amerocentric (is that a word?) to call it American New Year. :lol i do think more and more people are tending to call it Lunar New Year, though.

Kai Lien, where's my 紅包?

Actually, I used "Chinese" because it's the the new year of the Chinese lunar calendar. Jewish and Indian both have lunar calendars (maybe others too) and their new years are different. Whereas whoever celebrates this one celebrates it due to Chinese influence
