others: Perfect Girl Evolution, Skip Beat (by the same person that did TCP), Vampire Knight (also Merupuri from the same mangaka).

Korean manhwas: Goong (better than the drama IMO), Hot Blooded Woman, The Bride Of The Water God, You're So Cool
Woah I so agree with this list. And there's more newer ones. But these have the list of the ones I want to be dramatized or animelized (is that even a word)

I really don't read mangas that much. But there's one that I like so much, it has been made into an anime, it's good too, but the manga's better :)

It's Slam Dunk. I really like basketball, so I'm really into it

Could someone recommend me some good mangas with that deals with psychological and/or social topics.
What I've read earlier and liked that fits this is "Confidential Confessions" by Momochi Reiko. Maybe also "Nana" by Yazawa Ai is in that category.

Since you've liked Nana, you could also try Paradise Kiss. it's shoujou-ish though.

I've watched more anime than Manga, but that's probably because i got into anime first and so some great anime shows i've watched have been converted from mangas.

From the few i've read, my favourite has to be Berserk, what an insane manga.

Tokyo Babylon!

I never grew tired of Subaru. The story is sad, but has a lot of funny and thoughtful moments.

Ouran High Host Club
Faster Than A Kiss
Girl Got Game
Grand Sun
W Juliet
Yamato Nadeshiko
Hanazakari no Kimitachi e

I'd like to see them made into live action as well like Hana Kimi which I only started reading after seeing the jdrama. :tv:
Judging from my list, live action adaptation of any one of these would be guaranteed full of j-actor hotness.

- Usagi Yojimbo by Stan Sakai

You can already see the kind of stat WOW Gold inflation we're in for -- that quest green is nearly as good as the Cataclysm version of the Bulwark of Smouldering Steel Buy WOW Gold. Remember, in Cataclysm, each point of intellect translates to a point of spellpower. It only gets better from there, of course.Aion Gold Drop-kick Ascendant Lord Obsidius in the brand new level 78+ Blackrock Caverns and you can get the Crepuscular WOW Power Leveling Shield (that spirit converts to hit). Or better yet, just make it to level 82 and hire a blacksmith to make you a WOW Stormforged Shield. That beast Aion Leveling blows the Bulwark out of the water like whoa.

weylin wrote: And of course, Saiyuki. How come nobody is mentioned this one? This one is pure fantasy. Well, they have gold credit card.. This is about youkai (demons) and humans. Demons are went berserk, because of some weird experiment. They are killing and eating people. So the low moral, drinking, shooting and smoking Buddhist monk with his 3 youkai companies (and a dragon) have to save a world. Although, they don't give a damn about other people problems.

Story isn't clear fighting between bad and good. Maybe I can say, that It's focused on bond of friendship. When I read about Goku and Sanzo, I have feeling "Awww, how sweet" :lol
Also, characters whom they are based off of in the original Journey to the West story was not all that heroic as people think they are. Not only did they not not chance offer the yaogaui to redeem themselves, which many adaptations of this novel point out, but mean they killed innocent children because they were half-yaoguai and got a away with it as the story did not treat it as a bad thing as in the Journey to the West there is a double standard between killing yaoguai and ordinary animals then killing humans also keep in mind all humans in the story are not ordinary humans as some have gain supernatural powers through cultivation. So in the original story Sanzo only believe that it is wrong to kill humans. Also in the original Journey to the West Goku (Wukong) stole some rice from some humans because they were frighten of his appearance and got away with it. Hakkai (Bajie) stole clothes from Dujiaosi /Dokugakuji (who is not related to Gojyo (Wujing)) in the original story, but is not really treated as a bad thing by the story either. Goku and Hakkai whom along with Gojyo were monk in the original story drunk a lot of wine, which is no different from what Sanzo does in this manga, but people overlook that (I am not referring to you though). So even though the characters actions in this manga are not heroic in truth I think they are better than there counterparts in the original Journey to the West with the exception of Sanzo.

The supernatural beings are called youkai in this manga instead of yaoguai because youkai is the Japanese word for yaoguai although the story still takes place in China

Anyway this manga is okay, but I do not like the fact how the manga changed Nataku's origins and how his father was villainize in the series. Nataku mother gave birth to him meaning he was not born from a machine. I mean Nataku had a conflict with his father in the mythology itself, but his father was not as nearly as bad as portaryed in the Saiyuki Gaiden manga. I am still waiting for them to show Goku's past before Saiyuki Gaiden events.

Anyway the manga that I like are Ah! My Goddess, Rosario+Vampire, Inuyasha, Yu Yu Hakusho, Nurarihyon no Mago, Sailor Moon, Wedding Peach, and Yu-Gi-Oh.

Reading and collecting mangas dating back to the 70's. My all time favourite:

Hikaru no Go

BTW, the long out of print (AFAIK) manga GON is being reprinted in HK and available on YesAsia.com. This is the only manga I've read w/o a single word of dialog, and it's hilarious.

If you're into shoujou mangas I recommend:
Kimi ni Todoke
Ao Haru Ride
Marmalade Boy

But if you want psychological manga that has a very nice drawing try, Arisa
It's a good psychological and mystery manga. :)

The mangas by Takahashi Rumiko (Ranma½, InuYasha) and Yoshikawa Miki (Yankee-kun to megane-chan, Yamada-kun to 7nin no majo). I like shounen mangas. Every time I happen to read some really sappy shoujo manga I feel like "What the ramen did I just read?!".

"Angel Sanctuary" by Yuki Kaori
Great artwork.

"NANA" by Yazawa Ai
Have read up to vol. 16 have to read the rest sometime.

"Confidential Confessions" by Momochi Reiko
A 6 volumes series containing short stories about bullying, suicide, sexual harassment/rape, HIV.
There is also the 2 volume series "Confidental Confessions - Deai"

Anyone who has some recommendations similar (human drama I guess) to NANA and Confidential Confessions?

'Limit' is an interesting psychological manga I recently discovered.
'Death Note' is always a good choice
'Detective Conan' (though the licensed US version sucks like hell!)
'Maison Ikkoku'
