Which way you prefer to download the dramas?

I like torrent but it's painful to see some dramas with no seeds and downloading slowly! I also like Direct link, megaupload is great to download but the problem is that the files hosted there normally are rencoded to small quality to make uploading faster and to fit the size limit (it would be great if the episodes were splited in parts and each part was uploaded). But i still think these 2 options are the best.

i'm not very familiar with the other download methods though.

1. Direct downloads: Files are stored in one place, making it easier for the authorities to shut down. The reason for P2P is to have parts of a file scattered all over the place.

2. Clubbox: Call me a racist, but I will NOT install anything Korean on my PC.

3. IRC: Too many secret handshakes. I don't want to have to prove myself worthy or suck up to someone in order to obtain a file. IRC is for chatting; having 100 people logged on with zero dialog is a total turn-off.

BitTorrent is the most democratic of systems on the Internet. There is no L33T anything in BT. The people who complain about BT being ineffective are just impatient. When you get things free, patience is the least a leech can have.

In my humble experience IRC is the fastest but there is a learning curve, Clubbox the most reliable, and bit torrent the most frustrating. Then there is Usenet, or as I like to call it, the Humpty Dumpty of downloading.

Other...much rarer things if you know where to look...

I covered up the name of the program because I'd rather it not see much exposure. If you know what it is, please don't share ~_~ Pun intended.

I think BitTorrent is the best way to download dramas or anything for that matter, it is more convenient to just go to a website and click on the torrent download link than to open up another doinky program just to download something. And it's less slow because you have lots of people uploading the same file. Of course, the problem is that old torrents don't get seeded enough...in that case, I will sometimes go to sites with direct downloads of dramas whose torrents are not seeded enough or have no seeds at all on d-addicts, as a Plan B of sorts.

I don't use Clubbox because: A) I can't speak or read Korean, B) it's an IE-only plugin with no support for Firefox or other browsers, and C) I don't trust it much, it might have some doinky spyware in it or something. I do not use IRC to download much anymore, ever since BitTorrent came about and began being widely used by the anime, J-drama and J-pop communities.

And I once tried out the Japanese P2P Program That Shall Not Be Named™ but found it too complicated to set up, so I don't use that.

If given a choice I would prefer ED2K (Emule) the most.

+ There are usually sources available for even the rarest files. (no begging for people to share)
+ Reliability. Not littered full of corrupt files like other forms of P2P.
+ Credit system to reward those who upload.

- Files download slowly, but it rarely stops altogether, so at least there's progress made throughout.

However, most dramas (k-dramas anyway) are not released on ED2K since Clubbox (lol@groink's comment) does fine in most cases.

I like to use torrents most, but, if the files are old and doesn't have enough seeders, I'd like to DDL. =]
Not sure about the other options, cuz I haven't used IRC or Clubbox before, so yup~ =P

Torrent for me is the fastest.

I tried clubbox, but I didn't really like it, so my second choice is direct download.

I personally download most doramas from Usenet. When they're posted, that is. Otherwise it's bittorrent.

Like some have said, it's not fun to find that a series you want to download has no seeders, like Grumpy Gene, when you're trying to download it all. Small batches of 2-4 episodes a batch is better for me.

Clubbox can be a pain but it does get the work done most of the time.

I find myself less interested in doramas lately so I'm not complaining.

I also prefer torrents most, but if megaupload worked all day in my country (which doesnt because there's a period for premium members :glare: ) i would like it more because normally it downloads much faster(when i use download managers) than on torrent.

has anyone downloaded from Veoh??? does the download goes faster there than the average? Is it worth downloading that veoh downloader program??

For Korean dramas, I use Clubbox.
For Japanese dramas, I use this lovely tracker.

I've the Veoh program, and it works fine for me. With 50 kb/sec -> 120 kb/sec, I can download a episode in one and a half hour! It took me two days to download Jouu no Kyoushitsu :blink But I only download from Veoh, not from Youtube or something else. Because if I do that, the quality is AWFUL! :blink But the quality from Veoh is fine :D

I am all the way with DDL, because it's faster and you don't have to worry about seeds. I used torrent for four years and didn't really like it. It was mostly slow and in the long run I think my computer suffered from it.
