Ah I remember when I was like 12 and wanted desperately to be 13 (a teenager).

When I was 13, I wanted desperately to be 16 (Sweet Sixteen and driving).

Now that I'm turning 17, I want desperately to be 18 (Legal).


My best bet is that when I'm 40, I'll desperately want to be 5. :lol

@ POKEY: lol, when I was 9, couldn't wait to be 18, when 18th came, couldn't wait to be 30. when turned 30th, can't wait to be 45; for the possibilities of 45....can't wait and very excited whenever I'm thinking about turning 45, but not getting there yet, still have to wait....hrm, all this waiting is killing me :lol....

What do you classify as an adult?? When you are 18 you are an adult in Canada.

Anyway I just turned 21 on the 28th of Oct. born in 1985.

So wai_muna and shama129, since you two turned 21 and 23, just wondering "is there any womanhood rites performed in your cultures when you reach a certain age?....as for me, there used to be one, but not performed any more, only other certain womanhood rites are still performed now a days and they are quite neat or nice :-)....I'm interested to know or hear about any other cultural rites, I think it will be very interesting :-)....

hermm...i dont know...i come from mix culture family...so im not sure about it..but right now nothing is perfomed when u reach a certain age...it just a birthday party..hahahahaa...

That's fine too, getting drunk and gambling on your 21st birthday sounds fun too....well maybe you'll do it when you turn 23 yrs. old and see how much money you'll win or lose :lol....

You're right, I just looked at her avatar too....she might be just out on town....how do 18 yrs. old celebrate birhtdays now a days?....remembering my 18th birthday, out to dinner and drinking wine, but it was ok because I was with family and (shsh)some of us can get away with that :lol....

Goodness, there are around 50 birthday d-addicts today!...."wishing all of them a very happy birthday"....

I noticed that, I even counted it; was 52 or 53 birthdays!....my take on that was "maybe lots of newly weds at that time, or lots of family planning at that time, but then again it was spring and it always seems that spring season is the time for love, or is it just me?" :lol....

Aaahh, I just had my birthday not too long ago. Around June, but what sucks is that I had finals on the same day and guess what, I spent my birthday in the computer lab finishing a final project with my group and pulled an all nighter. :glare: I want my birthday back. Wahhh boo hoo (can't find the crying emoticon)

thank you for the birthday wishes, jholic!! ^_^ belated as they were (i'm not much better since i haven't been able to check my email or anything since saturday...im stuck in phoenix with dialup, so everything is going snailpace) its always so nice to be remembered!

my birthday was Jul 18 .. no body remembered my birthday..I remembered coz I am counting my age.. I am 25 yrs old now.. I did something differnet for a change.. I went to my mom and I told her "thang God you were save and thanks for giving birth to me" she was so touch.. next year I might bring her a gift as well..
happy birthdays for all who celeberated their birthday recently and for all who will celeerate it soon..
