Ahahahahaha!!
This show is partially based on true events in Korea, but well, it's a drama. I don't expect any dark stuff from it.

Just watched ep 1 and having mixed feelings. Definitely not enough of Yucheon and somehow I'm getting tired of the hotel-setting ;) But our main female wasn't half as annoying as I'd pictured and they set a nice pace. Not quite throwing me out of my chair, but I AM excited to see the 2nd ep . . .

I still haven't seen any (eyes problem this time), but I hope till Friday I will be able to sit down and catch up with everything.

Looks like Park brothers started to take over the TV? Good, good.... My another evil plan is 15% complete...

Same with me. Despite all the bad reviews on her recent dramas (Robbers, her leave from East of Eden, Hello! Miss)... she somehow still remains one of my favourite actresses.

I would think it's because you're a man. :P I find him cute even though he's not my biased. He's good at fanservice and his voice is so gentle...

I was thinking of trying this, was the first episode worth to watch?

Nope. You are NOT the only and I feel the same too. And this is from a girl/women point of view. Not only him, Kang Ji Hwan and Park Shin Ho too
Now I am really dead. Goes back to hiding place:pale:
But hey, beauty is in the eye of the beholder :P

Yucheon to me is not an OMG! HOT kinda guy but I do find him attractive. He's got that natural look about him and for me, there nothing wrong with being natural :roll

I just... eh... nevermind...

He's not pretty, but oozes some masculine charm, yes... not just stupid teenager one, but a peaceful one.
Even when goofing around, there is this calm within him. Kinda alluring.
Yes, I'm sober... yes, I'm cut from any drama for the rest of the week, cause I overworked my eyes. Imagine the suffering.

And Issy... you can try and hide, love...

Well Yucheon left me cold at first but in the course of SKKS he really grew on me. At first I hardly noticed him but at some point he did make me swoon. It's certainly not his looks but he definitely got some smexy aura about him. And now I can even watch some music video or variety cuts with him and I get all warm and agitated inside *ahem*

Yeah, way to go! Yoochun especially needs to break free from that atriaslfjsdklgjgjsfksltk SM Ent pressure!

Forgot to add, I thought Yoochun's parents' house looked familiar. Wasn't it the house of Changmin in Paradise Ranch?

Finally starting this on Friday (I hope). I used my genius and collected more than two episodes, so I may indulge in a suit fantasy... I think my Yucheon hunger will strike after the first episode, and I may need more than one...
Just 48 hours... will do...

Uhmm... this show was supposed to be another rom com, but after those episodes I've seen (2), I get the vibe of the tragedy. Which I like. :whistling:
This is not some fluffy show, and for some may seem boring, but I do find it entertaining and Yucheon is charmingly awkward sometimes^^

Posted: Jun 11th, '11, 16:20
by Viande
Oh this was supposed to be rom com? I got melo feeling from the start. But I'm melo girl so I don't mind the genre.

Anyway, just finished first episode. It was a bit over the top but still made me interested enough to watch next one. I don't really like the lead girl, her expressions annoy me. (eh, what expressions, looking sour/pissed most of the time?) But I liked how the first episode introduced main characters: their situations and personalities.

I just watched the 1 Ep...damn i hate dramas, where you know the ending in the first few seconds.

Posted: Jun 15th, '11, 13:02
by Ethlenn
Hmm... as for me this was kind of refreshing. How many dramas start at the ending point of it? The whole drama is therefore a retrospection, adding more tragedy to it. In a "normal" show, the viewers go with the flow, "participate" in the events, anticipate, curse and have hope. The writers here shredded the hope in the first episode. We know what will happen. We know the characters will experience happiness but also saddness. We know what will happen in the end, but this makes the events even more emotional. Even the happy ones, especially the happy ones. Because we know that won't change the characters' fate.

It was similar to Revenge of Gumiho - from the first episode we know Yunyi is supposed to be sacrificed, and the hectic actions to save her must fail. But knowing the ending didn't make me lose the interest in this drama, au contraire - I find it one of the best.
I don't know if Ripley end up like that, but as for now, I enjoy the ride, even though I know it's the ride down.

Posted: Jun 15th, '11, 13:15
by Silverman
Yes it has a certain appeal, but for me (and its just my opinion, so it doesn't mean all people should feel so), when i know, how it ends (yes there will besome additions to this end), i have always the feeling of "damn its all in vain". And this takes for me a lot of fun away. There are other dramas, which show part of the ending at the beginning, like Giant and Lie to Me, but there is enough latitude for the viewer to be suprised. In Ripley we pretty much know how it ends, because the narrators tell the story like it happend long time ago (at least i have this feeling).

Posted: Jun 15th, '11, 14:08
by Ethlenn
Well, I have similar feeling. It feels as if some tale read by other person.
True that it doesn't add any surprise, but as for me, it is all abut the execution of an action rather than the outcome of it.
And I think your words "and its just my opinion, so it doesn't mean all people should feel so" could be quoted some place else as well, hehe^^ Because this is all about it.

Posted: Jun 15th, '11, 14:38
by Silverman
I should add something like this at every post i make^^. But it would be to tiresome. I never expect that everybody shares my opinion, even if some of my posts look like i expect that what im writing is the only truth^^.

Aigooo... I feel bad for Yoochun's character. I'm having serious thoughts continuing this drama. I can't stand Jang Mi Ri. I get the urge to strangle her every time she's on screen.

I thought the extension got axed cuz of everyone's busy schedule? Frankly, I hate it to drag. I just want to see her demise.

Posted: Jul 11th, '11, 15:11
by Ethlenn
All on DC are in a frenzy of extending, I didn't check the official website, to be precise.

And I want her to suffer for creating such havoc, and for bringing all that destruction she did.

by seirin
After ep13, Mi Ri seems to get off too easily --; I want to see her crumble. It doesn't seem as interesting anymore. I guess some people really can get away with murder.
What's with the fess up and I'll forgive you thing...

Also it seems Mi Ri and Yoo Hyun are step brother/sister. It seems weird for them to end up together, but Mi Ri will probably have a comfortable life given she's a step sister. Her step dad will probably take care of her even if her mom won't admit Mi Ri is her daughter. Since LDH is getting a happy ending, she probably won't be dropping out of the drama :P

Yesterday, Star News reported that MBC was in talks with the production company of drama "Miss Ripley" for a four-episode extension. However, due to the busy schedules of the drama's stars, "Miss Ripley" will end after sixteen episodes as scheduled.

A representative of MBC said, “Initially, due to the popularity of the drama, we discussed the possibility of adding another 4 episodes, but due to the casts’ schedule, it has been decided that there will not be any additional episodes."

They added, “The female lead, Lee Dahae, has to carry out her schedule in China after this drama ends. And the male lead, Park Yoochun, due to his earlier JYJ Worldwide Concert schedule, is in poor physical condition. We relayed the opinion that the extension would be completely unfeasible to the drama department."

I have a bad time with this drama. I do so want to see Yucheon. He is just so adorable and becoming an even better actor. BUT big BUT I can't stomach LDH. I get the creepiest feeling that she is made of plastic from top to toe. I feel that if she really was able to show any expressions her face would crack and fall off. I am not being mean or trying to be funny. I honestly think she is a remade human being.

Please tell me that she does not end up with Yucheon. Please.

Posted: Aug 3rd, '11, 09:22
by Ethlenn
She does not.
It's not a big consolation for 16 episodes of horror with her. I'm not envious, she has good legs, and I think her legs act better than her face.

Posted: Aug 3rd, '11, 23:04
by Peggy
Well ...yes I guess the legs are important. She must have very cold Glutes don't you think. such short skirts.

I wouldnt ever wear skirts that short even in California. And there were times when I could wear minis...... Now when was that ..??..

by Peggy
Can't believe the change in this leading lady. the character was so evil and without any conscience throughout. I cannot accept the change in her at all.
A very weak ending to a rather strong drama.
