The other top k-drama released as of late next to friend the legend.

I'm watching this drama already. I'm at EP3. This drama is good. The chicks are hot...

Well, Sung Yu Ri is, the others not so.
So far, up to ep 7, it has been ok. The linkages between all the characters (in all senses) are, as usual, less than likely. But it's good to see characters interacting with strange furriners, and speaking occaisionally intelligible English. and OMG, guns! Well, mostly in the future it seems.

Similarities so far with All In

- guns (well, not yet really, but, given ep1, coming soon)
- fighting
- gangsters
- poor guy takes the blame for a crime while his rich friend feels guilty
- land deals on Jeju, specifically for enormous casinos/convention centres/entertainment complexes. Seriously, I know that the only place in Korea that you can have casinos is Jeju, but the place must be overrun with gangsters buying up all the land and fighting.
- overseas locations
- vast numbers of gratuitous shots of Las Vegas (can't remember about original though) - the Nevada tourist commission must love it!
- casinos, casinos, more, bigger casinos, and the characters want to build even more ridiculously massive ones for good measure - obsession with "biggest casino in the world"
- rich guy and poor guy competing over the same girl. Rich guy uses dubious tactics and is a bit of a stalker.
- ingrish

Interesting to see where it goes from here.

Predictions

- Jung Wu is a mad good gambler, despite not really liking it
- Jung Wu will spend lots of time in casinos and become an expert about everything to do with them
- Jung Wu will become the most deadly person in the world, and his buddies will become hardened expert killers, and they will need those skills to survive later
- Jung Wu and his dad end up in a big fight over land, but near the end all is revealed and, after a bit of time sorting their feelings most things will be well. Or will lots of people die?

Will Jeju turn into one massive casino?

Actually I was undecided about this drama, but when they did Nowhere Fast (from Streets of Fire, 1984) towards the end of ep02 I realized I'm gonna watch every minute of it even if it's just to see whether they do Tonight is what it means to be young as well. I'm a sucker for this movie and people who appreciate it. :D

To tell the truth, episode 1 was so lame. It didn't convince me at all. There was nothing, absolutely nothing hooking or anything that would make me think "yes, I will like this drama" But I have gotten so used to this, usually Korean dramas start properly after like 2-4 episodes, before that it's going to be slow and typical beginning.

First of all the beginning was SO similar to Lobbyist. Childhood friends, a battle ship, old village, swimming, diving... And it was so boring. What did we see? A love based on nothing, ruthless beating, whipping and kicking.... Were they in North Korea? That left me quite confused. I thought they were communists but then someone said that communism is a bad thing (or something that way). Now I suppose everything happened in Jeju Island(?) Then the love between the convict and the innocent girl, it seemed more like she was raped... a jealousy of a guy who's love was one sided.

Then there was this scene from the middle part of the drama, fighting in (I suppose)Africa. It was completely irrelevant and out of context because latter happenings didn't really relate that well to any of the main characters.

The second episode was like completely another drama. I know that all of the secrets will be revealed later but after watching episode 2 the first seemed completely waste of time. It all could have been shown later in flashbacks. Because the time jump was so huge between these two episodes I wasn't really sure who is this story about and what's going on. I suppose it's about Jung Woo, he is the son and the police officer is the lover boy from the past (the confirmation at the end of ep3) and the filthy rich man is the ruthless general from the past. So actually Jung Woo will start working with a man who is (kind of) responsible of his mother's death ad maybe has killed his father too.

Directing and setup is nicely done. I saw a nice fighting scene in episode 2 (when Jung Woo fought those thugs at the road side)

I wonder if there will be any gambling n the drama? I am pretty sure it will not be about poker playing like All In was. Some kind of different gambling?

The OST is ok. So far there is only one song I like and it's instrumental version of the main song.

Don't really understand why there doesn't seem to be too much love for this series, one of the best dramas I've watched for sure. Story was nice, maybe there was some problems here and there, but still It was intresting and complex story in a good way. Cast was also great all the way which made It even better :thumright:. Obviously some might find first episode out of place there, but in the end there really is enough reason for It to be shown...

D-Addicts no longer provide dramas, only subtitles for them. Please, search other websites
