That was some flier/poster for her upcoming stage play called "Hogi Uta"

If you check her official site there already schedule for 2012 on stage section:

It said she comeback on stage after 4 years (the last one on 2008 apparently). The satge play will be held on Tokyo's New National Theatre in January 05 next year until February 02, called "Hogi Uta" She will be play with Shinichi Tsutsumi (47) Jun Hashimoto (47) in the three man show. The story of a couple wandering entertainer Kansai post nuclear war world (1979), Toda plays the role of women as innocence wives. (*using google translate-not perfect*

It took me a little while to appreciate Erika Toda's style, but I've been won over by her naturalness. I know that make-up is a necessity in the acting profession (for guys, too), but so many J-actresses just trowel it on. I feel like I'm trying to relate to a mask or a doll when watching some of them emote. Erika doesn't roll that way, and she looks great. Good for her.

Toda Erika chosen as the heroine for Ohno Satoshi’s upcoming drama

As we reported previously, Arashi’s Ohno Satoshi will star in the next “Getsu9″ drama “Kagi no Kakatta Heya“, and today, it was announced that Toda Erika has been chosen as the heroine for the drama. This will be the first time for Ohno and Toda to co-star with each other, and also, the first time for Toda to play the role of a lawyer.

This drama tells the story of a protagonist, Enomoto Kei (Ohno) who is obsessed with keys and locks, and solves the mysteries related to cases that happened behind closed doors. Toda will play a rookie lawyer named Aoto Junko. Toda’s role is that of a very pure and positive girl, where she takes actions by instinct, thus sometimes saying astounding things, causesing trouble for people around her. The story starts where Junko offers Enomoto help to solve an incident that happened behind closed doors, when she happens to see Enomoto easily unlock a heavy vault door.

Toda commented, “While many mystery dramas are being made recently, I am also looking forward as a viewer to see what future developments there will be in this drama.”

“Kagi no Kakatta Heya” will start airing in April on Fuji TV (every Monday at 9:00 pm).

Second thread i've read since joining here. Erika deserves more than 35 pages but i guess
there is not as much material for actresses (male idols get more attention) and i appreciate
whatever i can get. And i haven't seen the hate comments that so many other forums are

Hey there on all you Erika Toda fans. I have seen Death Note, Liar Games and Boss with this talanted and cute actress and I wanted to know of any shows (or movies) where she plays sorta more unusual roles, kinda like in Boss.

By unusual I mean not just a pretty girl that's a little slow on the uptake but has a good heart. She does great at that stuff of course, but I like her more in Boss where she is kinda reserved and a bit more "nerdy". Does not have to be anything like Boss, but just something a little "different" if you know what I mean?

Preferably something where she also is in it alot.

honestly I'm a little bit disappointed in her lack of 'function' in Kagi no Kakatta Heya except from connecting Enomoto Kei to the cases as in
- introducing Kei to Serizawa.
- referring Kei to increase security in certain cases.
maybe this is just my feeling.

nevertheless, she took the character very well.

found it in AsiaTorrent with English sub. worth watching as she's a dog trainer in this Movie and act as mentor to the hero. fit her well.
(very impressed as the dog actually listened to the actors' orders)

I would like to recommend Taisetsu na Koto wa Subete Kimi ga Oshiete Kureta (http://wiki.d-addicts.com/Taisetsu_na_K ... ete_Kureta) as she took a mature role in this drama, different from other popular series like Galcir, Keizoku, BOSS and Liar Game. plus the theme is a little bit dark, worth watching.

Toda Erika to star in new NHK drama ‘Shotenin Michiru no Minoue Banashi’

It was recently announced that actress Toda Erika is going to star in her first NHK drama titled ‘Shotenin Michiru no Minoue Banashi‘ (lit. ‘The life story of bookstore clerk Michiru’). This drama is scheduled to begin airing in January 2013.

The story of ‘Shotenin Michiru no Minoue Banashi’ is based on a novel by Sato Shogo called ‘Minoue Banashi‘, which was published in 2009. It revolves around a woman named ‘Michiru’ (Toda) whose ordinary life suddenly gets turned upside down after winning 200,000,000 Yen (2.5 million USD) in a lottery with a ticket that isn’t hers. Suddenly she’s experiencing betrayal, murder, and a life on the run…

Toda’s supporting cast will be made up of Kora Kengo, Emoto Tasuku, Arai Hirofumi, and Omori Nao.

The whole story is being told from the perspective of a man who calls himself ‘Michiru’s husband’ (Omori).

‘Michiru’ is living an ordinary life in a provincial city and is working at a bookstore. She has a boyfriend, ‘Kyutarou’ (Emoto), and they’ve been together for almost one year now. However, her feelings don’t seem to be that strong, since she is also having an affair with the Tokyo businessman ‘Toyomasu’ (Arai), who came to the provincial city in the name of a major publisher. To make things worse, she decides on the spur of the moment to go to Tokyo with him, although she was only supposed to see him off on his last day in the city.

Before that, a colleague of hers gave her money to buy a lottery ticket in his/her stead, which she did, but she forgot to return it before leaving for Tokyo. Later, when she realizes that she still has the ticket and that it actually was the winning ticket for 200,000,000 Yen (2.5 million USD), she doesn’t tell anybody about it and transfers the sum to her own bankbook as soon as possible. That’s when her life suddenly takes a turn for the worse.

In Tokyo she only knows one person, her childhood friend ‘Takei’ (Kora), but his true colors turn out to be much different from what she expected. Her ‘Toyomasu’ also suddenly disappears off the face of the earth. Meanwhile, ‘Kyutarou’ is trying to find his girlfriend, who suddenly went to Tokyo without telling him why; and then there’s even a murder…

NHK is going to air ‘Shotenin Michiru no Minoue Banashi’ in their ‘Yoru Dora’ (‘Night Drama’) time slot every Tuesday at 10:55 pm. There will be a total of 10 episodes and the first one is slated to air on January 8th, 2013.
