Here's a great summary (spoilers) of the first episode:

daelite @ wordpress is me... glad I could be helpful I'll probably keep blogging this drama weekly (75% chance).
Just from one episode I'm already loving this show. I have a feeling it'll be pretty cliche overall but it's just too fun
Seems like the Hanayome to Papa of this season (A silly show about a dysfunctional father-daughter relationship).
I'm already excited for episode 2,

The concept may not be original, but it's still plenty of fun. I should be following this for a few more episodes at least
Btw I'm quite intrigued by the "nanokan" part in the title. Does that mean their body switch will last seven days? Will that be covered over seven episodes? Then what happens afterwards? We'll find out soon enough.

I just watched this drama on stream.
it was... ABSOLUTELY HILARIOUS!!!!!!
I LOVE it. I love it like hyd. I love this more than HanaKimi.
way too many things I can connect with... aaah I wish I wasn't subbing first kiss now lol.
First Kiss better be funnier than this!!
[edit] if anyone wants to watch it stream, I can upload it for you. If I'm going to translate this, I'll only have time to do half the series because school starts august and I'll get busy... but I'm willing to provide low-quality raws. just come to jland (http://jland.wordpress.com) and leave me a comment.

Well, honestly I was a bit reluctant to watch this drama, maybe because of this summer's gender-bender trend and the fact that I'm not a big fan of Yui Aragaki. But what triggered the interest is that I usually love what TBS broadcasts. I can't say that I've often been disappointed by their shows, and Papa to Musume no Nanokakan has definitely convinced me. Great drama, one of the best this summer, or so I hope.

Yea, that girl... lolGoddessCarlie wrote:!
I was wondering about that two. I thought maybe one day per episode or so... (If the first and last episodes didn't count or something?) but I think this drama is slated to be 11 episodes. PLUS they've already gone through 2 or 3 days in the first episode! So I'm a bit confused...lzydata wrote: Btw I'm quite intrigued by the "nanokan" part in the title. Also I assume the 'boyfriend/crush' Kenta will have a bigger role in the future. But it would be weird if he became very close to the girl in just seven days...

I just watched ep.1 last night. Yeah at first I wasn't in with the whole "freaky friday" like-storyline, but after finished ep. 1. i have to say I really enjoying it. I laugh out loud so many time. I haven't done that while watching dramas for the past few months. it seem this season we are having a lot of good entertainment dramas

If you read their subtitle thread, you'll see that they will.lsqB wrote:just from a curiosity's standpoint, why don't you? because of the possibly of getting miscredited?
it's there>> http://www.d-addicts.com/forum/viewtopic_50375_45.htm
By the way, I don't really understand how can people who spend most of their spare time subbing dramas for leechers like me be miscredited or worse, discredited. A 24h delay isn't that much to bear when you're thankful of an effort that you're not able to do yourself.

Generally I tend to be a little hesitant to watch these gimmick shows, because I often find that outlandish situations are used in place of good writing or acting. However, as regards this program the truth couldn't be more different.
Although there have only been two episodes, I have been impressed by the quality of the screenplay and the performances from the cast. Aragaki Yui is of course very attractive (the scene with beer in the first episode is maybe the cutest thing I've ever seen that didn't include kittens) and she has displayed an impressive range for so young an actress. But the real star is Tachi Hiroshi, who is simply outstanding as a 17 year old girl.
A lot of Japanese drama start off strong but either drag in the middle or have lackluster endings. Of course we can only wait and see, but there is still a lot of untapped territory left to explore, and it is my hope that this show continues to deliver.

actually, families taking bath together isn't that big of a deal in Japan... believe it or not.sakurachan wrote:Can you imagine the horror if someday the mom walks into the bathroom seeing her husband back-scrubbing her naked daughter? I wonder if the writers will go that far. haha.
I mean, yeah, no teenage girl would take bath with her father... that's a little inappropriate, but generally it's accepted. I had classmates where the whole family would take bath together (mom+dad+2 older brother+6yrold sister) so they can save water/energy.
the thing is, Japanese bath are heated. They don't just put hot water in. There's a water heater, and you know how they pulled the cover over? Basically you're boiling a huge pot of water. And after each person gets out, the water cools so you have to boil it again. That's why it costs so much energy.

that's what I wondered about... " OH MY FXCKING GOD !!! My hubby is an incestuous lolicon pervert.... and my daughter is being eager to please him?...."sakurachan wrote:Can you imagine the horror if someday the mom walks into the bathroom seeing her husband back-scrubbing her naked daughter? Like what IsqB said, it's generally not considered gross/squicky for families to bathe together in Japan, though mostly it's little kids who take baths with their parents often (at least in private homes), and most teens probably would want to wash and bathe themselves without their parents' help. Having parents help wash their kids and take baths with them is considered a way of bonding between the parent and child and isn't seen as sexual or perverted or lolicon or whatever. I think it comes from the days where most people didn't have baths in their houses so families would all go to the local public bathhouse. It's just a cultural difference, really.lsqB wrote:actually, families taking bath together isn't that big of a deal in Japan... believe it or not.sakurachan wrote:Can you imagine the horror if someday the mom walks into the bathroom seeing her husband back-scrubbing her naked daughter? this drama is hilarious! i just love every single thing that the papa does as a 17 year old girl. his expressions are just too funny. loved his dancing : Aragaki Yui is pretty impressive too. i thought her acting really shines through when she was craving for the beers at the dinner scene. that was awesome.
I don't think IsqB is familiar with Japanese culture or Japanese people's daily life. The classmates mentioned are very, very, very rare in Japan. Or, they may not be Japanese.lsqB wrote: actually, families taking bath together isn't that big of a deal in Japan... believe it or not.

No kidding!!! Far from "a little!!!"lsqB wrote: that's a little inappropriate, but generally it's accepted.
