[Discussion] Kiken na Aneki
is it me or the english sub for episode 6 isn't out yet? Can't seem to find it anywhere.
just might add though, itou misaki plays such a different role from the one in densha. She's more fun going in this one and jumps around heaps. Hehe it's good to see a 28 yo acting kawaii again .
I reckon the show doesn't have much interesting content if not for itoh misaki

EZKiel is gonna take the JLPT 2 this week, so the subs may be delayed.avexdevil wrote:is it me or the english sub for episode 6 isn't out yet? Can't seem to find it anywhere.

Well, I found another link to another drama, Rikon Bengoshi. Did anyone notice in the preview for the next episode, Amemiya (Name of the lawyer) was in it.tozacchi wrote:Did anyone else notice one of the patients at the hospital holding the girl figure in Densh Otoko? I for got what episode it was but it was in there
The lawyers name is not Amemiya, it's Takako Mamiya. Also, one of the guys from Densha Otoko makes an appearance in episode 8 (see if you recognize him).tozacchi wrote:Well, I found another link to another drama, Rikon Bengoshi. Does it seems like this role of Ito Itoh Misaki seem to be more childish and does that suit her better... this is the first time is seem her like this...
I mean she should be childish because the only good thing about the character, she wasn't smart, but it was that she was cute and alway would win the contest.
I seem:
Goksuen and Desha Otoko - she didn't act like anything like this so that Y i was thinking, this is first time i seem her like this.

I guess I don't have a problem with it since I would rather see her do different roles than be stereotyped.gsr_raver wrote:Does it seems like this role of Ito Itoh Misaki seem to be more childish and does that suit her better... this is the first time is seem her like this...

Yea, she acts childish, but I think she fits the role just fine. Of course, I've also seen the dramas you listed and I'm glad that she's finally getting a role like this as the main actress.
Acting Roles of Mihiro...
If you had seen her in "You're under arrest" you would have seen how she has developed as an actress. Although one may wonder if it is the right direction or not... What's next? Woman who thinks she is a 3 year old? I just hope she'll get something more challenging to interpret next time and not just the happy shiny pretty face like in this drama. If she could have a role somewhere in between Hermes-san and her role in Gokusen...yt_toshi wrote:I guess I don't have a problem with it since I would rather see her do different roles than be stereotyped.gsr_raver wrote:Does it seems like this role of Ito Itoh Misaki seem to be more childish and does that suit her better...

i dont think Ito Misaki is a good actress. but she's cute and adorable.

^ No way im feeling the exact opposite.
The brother is a fricken moron. Acting like such a prick in every episode telling her off for no good damn reason.
Acting like a pure wanker when found out about her dad bankrupcy/death and His sister 30million Loan, thinking he was suppose to "inherit" it. damn jerk noone makes Ito Misaik cry >=O

Ito Misaki's character is really annoying to me. Selfish, inconsiderate, and oblivious, she never considers how her own brother feels and is constantly doing things to hurt him. She always has good intentions but never stops to consider anything. It's so annoying and frustrating to see the show go on like that.
The biggest reason I've watched the show up to this poinst is Shaku Yumiko and the rest of the support cast although it kind of annoys me that it seems all of them are under some kind of spell when it comes to Ito Misaki's character.

bit off topic here: but where u get ur avatar from? i it.. hahas..
anyways abt this show.. issit worth getting? cos i planning to watch it.. hmmmm it seems like a rather diff performance by ito misaki..
I kinda agree with some members about how misaki plays a very selfish role in the film after watching episode 9. You can't help but side with yutaro after watching that particular episode. Yes, he might be playing the prick in the early episodes, but once you get near the end, you will feel for him.
hopefully, by the last episode, all this will be resolved and yutaro will get the share he deserves. OR we could just gawk at ito misaki's beauty and nvr again think about the ethics of the show lol.

Just read this interesting article on Yahoo News. It mentions Kiken na Aneki as "Dangerous Sister". I just thought it was funny to see how dramas like this can make jobs like club hostessing more popular.

In the last episode, that resturant Bongiorno guy that likes Koharu (I forgot his name) said towards the end of the episode that he sold his resturant because he wanted to teach in season 2 of Kiken na Aneki. Now, I dont want to get my hopes up, but, does this mean that there might be a season 2 of Kiken na Aneki??? Since the show finished airing a few weeks ago, it may be too soon to look for written proof on forums and such. However, if that resturant guy said he wanted to teach in season 2 of Kiken na Aneki, can there be hope for a second season???

It looks like this thread has been pretty dead for a while. It is a shame because this was a good series.
Some of the posters didn't think that Misaki Itoh did a very good acting job on this one, but I disagree. I think she did the role that the script called for and did it very well. I connected with the emotions of her acting and also enjoyed the performances of Yumiko Shaku.

ok, finished the series.
my thoughts
Misaki-san's acting was ok, she just gave what was asked by the script (a free-spirited, fun-loving, innocent sister who cares too much for other people)
completely different acting from Densha and Yama Onna Kame Onna.
Mirai is a pretty good actor, and his chemistry with Misaki-san is undeniable (and he gets to be hugged by Misaki-san numerous times!!!!!
Takeda is a goof ball. he looks like an anime character.
Yumiko Shaku is freakin hot!!! and a good actress!!
though
Takumi is ok as a friend/supporting role , didnt have much chance to show his acting...
which i wonder
Madarame-san is stereotyped into these kind of roles, isnt he??? (weirdos)
i don't understand the introduction of the lawyer................
and yes, in ep. 9, i feel for Mirai and his letter.
I think they pretty much tied up the loose ends for the series, so a season 2 is rather bleak (yeah i also saw the reason why Madarame-san closed his Boungiorno" restaurant)
a SP would nice though.
in the end, this is a refreshing series if you want more Misaki Itoh-san goodness and will give you pleasant surprises as well. RECOMMENDED!

I watched the first two episodes and felt like this show was cute but only something to watch if you've got time to kill. I saw the request to watch one more episode before voting so I did, and I must say, I enjoyed Episode 3 a lot more than the first two episodes but only right up until the very last few minutes, after which point the character development made absolutely no sense whatsoever. I can't believe that either:
1) Kitamura would be emotionally prepared to accept Nakamura's invite to dinner when he almost destroyed her and was incredibly chauvinistic to her the night he visited Blue Velvet; or that
2) Ai would have been attracted to Nakamura after learning his true colors.
I guess the second one could be explained by saying that no one ever told Ai that it was Nakamura who malevolently blew Kitamura's cover, but the first one is still hair-pullingly frustrating. lol
Don't get me wrong! Very cute, fun show! Enjoyable, too! But ... I definitely wouldn't use the phrase "probably shouldn't miss it" to describe this. :\ You're not missing much if you don't watch it: just one of the dozens of cute dramas that are out there. If you've already seen a number of comic romance Jdramas then I would suggest steering clear of this series unless you really have nothing better to watch, read, or otherwise do with your time. Because the series does almost nothing new: it just has fresh character names attached to a different set of actors and actresses' faces. If you're still new to Jdramas or if you're a huge idol fan, then you should probably check this series out. I can certainly see the appeal for Ito Misaki fans who have only seen Densha Otoko and that's it for their J-drama exposure, but for the seasoned veteran, the narrative is brimming with overused plot devices and this could prove to be a bit too much. So I had to vote 2/5 for the D-Addicts poll. But in my own heart of hearts (ignoring the words attached the poll), I'd give Kiken na Aneki a score of 3/5.
