I just checked the ratings for this show:
14.2% - 11.9% - 11.9% - 11.3% - 9.5%
It's been slowly decreasing ever since 1st episode, will it go up to double digit again? While I'm not one who worry over ratings because it doesn't truly reflect the quality of the drama, I'm concerned whether this might affect Ueno Juri in a way since it's her first drama after 3 years

Also, I'm not sure if anyone read this news about Odagiri Joe.

Basically, he was initially offered a lead role alongside Juri in Alice, but he declined due to bad experience being lead for a drama that had low ratings. I'm not judging him, in fact, he has the right to accept or decline being lead. I can also understand his worries. I thought he's doing a pretty good job so far in Alice. But that being said, doesn't this mean Ueno Juri will bear more responsibility if the ratings keep declining in the future. We can blame on the screenwriters etc...but at the end of the day, it's almost always the lead actor/actresses' fault in the public eyes. I just don't want the same thing to happen to her again after Gou's case.
To be honest, I think the rating went down because things have slowed a bit. Still, I find this show is one of the more interesting/exciting and filled with enough suspense, as compared to others like Hanasaki Mai ga Damattenai (
which is a typical bank drama with mediocre cases but only hyped because it shared the same author as Hanzawa Naoki).
