Here's my list:
- Great Teacher Onizuka aka GTO
- Forbidden Love aka Majou no Jouken
- Friends (A joined project of Japan and Korea but it's really good, starring Kyoko Fukada & Won-Bin)
- Hero
- Beautiful Life
- Love Revolution
- Power Office Girls aka Shomuni

That's all I can remember for now, there are dramas I like but I don't list them here since I forgot the title. By the way, I'm still watching "Hana Yori Dango" and it's really good. Hopefully to finish it soon. I'm at episode 5.

1)Orange Days
2)News no onna

Keizoku ( http://jdorama.com/drama.185.htm )?

If so, it's on the current JSOTW poll: http://www.d-addicts.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=26920

Dekichatta Kekkon ( http://wiki.d-addicts.com/Dekichatta_Kekkon )
Mukodono 2001 ( http://wiki.d-addicts.com/Mukodono! )

I'd say there is equal amounts of drama/comedy in both. Both are really good IMO.

I have watched antique I thought it was pretty good. I wouldnt say that it one of my favourite dramas, but definately worth a watch. There are great quiet tense moments that are mostly humorous. And the acting is believable.

favourite is probably GOKUSEN, but i also really enjoyed Hana Yori Dango and Kimi Wa Petto.

Eh? Are you looking for movies or dramas?
For dramas:
1. As evil as it sounds, you can read through this thread for popular recommendations...
2. D-Addicts's Ranking for 2005 JDramas (finished, results in)
3. The main homepage for jdorama.com has a listing (although it is kind of skewed... ^_^;; )
linhnhi wrote: does anyone know where i can find the english subtile for beautiful life...
I don't think there is a soft-subbed version of Beautiful Life, but I believe JTV has it on their tracker...

I've just seen Hana Yori Dango and I adored it. It was great! But now I don't have any j-drama to watch, so I need your help. :)
I've seen the GTO jdrama, Densha Otoko and of course Hana Yori Dango. So please give some recommendations.

Hello! Have tour read the first post? It's pretty impressive, but I cannot resist to give you my opinion about what you must watch:
I am cuurently busy watching
Nobuta wo produce: it's kind of fun, but i am really wondering how it will end(I have seen so far 4 episodes),
Lunch queen: a mouth watering series!!makes me want to go to restaurant each time I see it and the ost is great
The other series I am watching are not japanese, but anyway, I give you some of them:
Meteor Garden: the taiwanese version ofHYD. I know it's kind of strange, but both of them are so different. You have to wait 2 or 3 episodes to get in the mood, especially when you are like me HYD fan, but I assure you it worths it!!
Mars: I was a big fan of the manga, it's a really good serie. the actors are brilliant and I love the soundtrack. A must see in my opinion.
Full House: just discovered this one, it's from Korea. A classical plot: two people with nothing in common will have together.... Only seen 2 episodes but sounds good
I was about to forget!!!!Kimi wa petto with Matsumoto Jun: definitely a must see, i really liked the way they act in this serie and it is very funny!
Hope it will help :D

All time favourite j-dorama :

1) Orange Days - A lot can be learnt from here. It's funny, interesting, unbelievable, kawaii. When i mean kawaii, not just the actors/ess, but the story itself. It taught you to appreciate yourself, taught you to love, taught you that you are not alone in this world.

2) Double Score - May be because i love Oshio Manabu and Sorimachi Takashi? Hehe. No, it's definitely worth watching! Sorimachi with his ever splendid performance, very comical in this. Oshio Manabu, teh hot! Got loads of humour. Shounen ai..Haha...=p You wished!

3) Overtime - Simply because i love Sorimachi T. Nah, i like him but the story itself is interesting. I'm just a sucker for this kind of romance dorama. =p

4) Nobuta wo Produce - I used not to like Yamapi. But whoa...Watching it, i fall in love with his character, Kusano Akira. Now i know he's a good actor. I don't really like his other dramas, that's just because probably i don't like his character. In this dorama, Yamapi's character, Akira, is just too great. He's crazy and strange and hyper. ANd paired with the pretty boy Kame-chan's character, Kiritani Shuji, cool and leader-like. You WILL fall in love with the characters! XD Yamapi is mine! Haha. Yeah, the story is hella funny. The ending theme by Yamapi and Kame~chan aka Shuji to Akira, "Seishun Amigo" is a must listen OST. Haha

5) Waterboys - It's funny! You getta see boys in skimpy swimming trunks! Haha. It's seriously hilarious. THo there's some dull part, not much, but the story is still going great.

Depends on what you liked about it the most, but other dramas with similar storylines (tragic human drama) that have done well (and are available subbed):
Sekachuu
Beautiful Life
Kamisama mou sukoshi dake
All these guys tend to be romances, but they also have a healthy dose of family interaction.
I know there are more, but I'd have to think about it for a bit...

There are about a million romantic comedies... I think Jdramas have more of these than Kdramas do... As for a drama that has to do with a wedding, I'm going to assume you mean a romantic comedy that ends up with characters getting married? If that's the case, there're still a ton (I'm going to spoiler it b/c it kind of tells you what happens... even if it really is obvious):
BTW, these are all subbed...
Wedding Planner (haha... somebody gets married in each ep :p )
Virgin Road
Omiai Kekkon
Long Vacation
101st Proposal
Last Christmas
Shotgun Marriage
etc etc etc...
And then there are the ones where you don't actually see a wedding, but you know the characters hook up and live happily ever after.... :roll
... or the supid comedies where the couple are already married and have to deal with.... stuff... :lol

If you like dark dramas, then i would like to recommend A/ONE MILLION STARS FALLING FROM THE SKY.

this is by far the most F-----d up drama i've ever seen and i loved it soo much.

Warning
i didn't find this the typical dying for love drama like many kdramas. i thought the deaths made the story beautiful. it was necessary. they were dirty, they had to die. very, very, very nice ending. i actually clapped at the end (except when they showed the boat shot. come on, how can his hand end up on her?)
BUT, i don't recommend this to people who don't like dark, screwed up storyline, immoral acts.

is it just me or is the intro of dragonzakura terribly crappy.

Kinda disappointed that abe hiroshi's character is so different from his role as Ueta in Trick. O well. I'll watch first two eps b4 i judge :)

O gawd not more mullet haired punks. :roll

hmmn... i personally love jdo more than anything else. hehe. anyway, you can try gto. nobuta wo produce is a bit funny too, esp because of akira. also gokusen, it can be funny at times. sorry if my answer's a bit noncommital. just try some stuff, i'm sure you'll love them.

hana yori dango was the least dorama i saw. went by really fast. but still good. very good acting and maintains the story from the manga for the most part. recommended for sure. :thumright:

wow, i just found out it was a movie. hmm. one of the websites with the link has reached its member limit and the other is an irc channel which i don't prefer. hmmm, gotta find some new ones then.

edit: so i did a search on every movie site that d-addicts told me to and i still haven't found g@me. I did, however, I find one or two raws of it. in fact, even emule has raw of it. so my question would be if a subbed version of this movie is even existing. can anyone confirm?

dude i just watched the finale of dragonzakura.... frankly i'm a bit disappointed like the ending was so anticlimatic... I mean they tried building tension and all but iono... sighhh i sorta feel like there wasn't a sense of closure... sigh. :-(

finished nobuta wo produce. I got kinda mad that akira didn't get nobuta in the end. I thought when he started liking her the show was getting interesting. but i guess they thought they really couldn't choose a side because the viewers might not b happy with their choice. But still c'mon u should pick one anyhow. Its better than nothing.

And wat was w/ akira going to the new school. Thats was weird. specially when they decided to walk into the beach?

hi all... i usually only watch Kdramas.. ut i got tired cause they are becoming way too predictable.
SOme of the Jdramas that i watched such as Nobuta Wo Produce, Gokusen and Hanayori Dango is now converting me into a Japanese Drama fan... I ususally prefer Comedies, so do you guys know any good comedies or anything with good storyline, i would really appreciate it.

Currently downloading Odoru daisousassen. Pretty interesting/funny so far. Its now very obvious to see why Oda Yuji is such a great and popular actor in Japan. His on screen charisma is oozing out . :thumright:

Can anyone tell me of some dramas to download where everyone isn't a spineless vagina? I'm currently watchin' Stairway to Heaven, and it's not SOOOO bad, but wtf. All the characters act like they're autistic and can't fuckin' speak. I really don't feel like wasting my time with another show like this. Can anyone lend me some insight into other ones please?
