We love watching dramas like Roosevelt Game, Hanzawa Naoki and Fumou Chitai.
What else do you recommend in this genre?

I really like Love Shuffle & Shitsuren Chocolatier too!!erikai wrote:...
Can someone recommend anything similar to those?
Any nice dramas with Nanao or Karina in it?
Yeah, there are three seasons, three specials, and four movies. It's my favorite (Japanese) drama of all time. The humor is just... fantastic. One thing to keep in mind is that the episodes are semi-serial. That is to say, each season is 4-5 different "arcs," of two or more episodes.leader wrote:That sounds pretty good to me. And, if I'm seeing correctly, there's quite a fair bit of it? Three series and some specials? Fingers crossed then, that'd keep me going for a while.Mwulf wrote:^--You have to watch TRICK. thank you for these. i had downloaded watashi ga renai dekinai riyuu awhile back but havent seen it. just realized i dont have the whole thing. i am downloading missing episodes (but sadly no seeders). will let you know how it goes. im excited.zenith777 wrote:I really like Love Shuffle & Shitsuren Chocolatier too!!erikai wrote:...

Maybe I'd like to recommend (in order) :
1. Watashi ga Renai Dekinai Riyuu - Karina in it.
2. Summer Nude - Karina in it.
3. Hanawake no Yon Shimai
4. Kekkon Shinai
Well, for Nanao, she just started her career as actress on 2012, so her dramas are not much
Maybe you can try to download the missing episodes from Click Here.erikai wrote:... i had downloaded watashi ga renai dekinai riyuu awhile back but havent seen it. just realized i dont have the whole thing. i am downloading missing episodes (but sadly no seeders). will let you know how it goes. im excited.

Nodame Cantabile (not quite a rom-com, but super awesome)
Love Shuffle
Love Revolution
Long Vacation
Hotaru no Hikari
Hello timetraveller!timetraveller wrote:hello DADDICTS!!!! any suggestions for a romantic comedy????
Nodame Cantabile is not really a rom-com.RetroHelix wrote:Hello everyone,
maybe someone requested something similar in the past but its not easy to search this thread. So I would like to request a romance drama. It must be a J-Dorama and I don't want to see anyone from Johnny's (SMAP is an exception) in it. It should not be comical (Nodame Cantabile would be way over the top) and not too dramatic (Not something like Sekai No Chuushin).
Something that fits between these would be great: Over Time, Long Vacation, Last Christmas, Konna Koi No Hanashi, Love Generation.
Thank you.
Thanks for taking the time to reply. Too bad I already saw all dramas you mentioned.kitty10 wrote:Nodame Cantabile is not really a rom-com.RetroHelix wrote:Hello everyone,

That said, try Love Revolution, Koi no Chikara, Kekkon Dekinai Otoko and Kekkon Shinai.
For a straight-out romance which can get a bit heavy, try Itoshi Kimi e.

Hmm, you could try Shitsuren Chocolatier, it's 2014 drama and funny one![]()
Also Love Shuffle as everyone recommended
I recently finished Alice no Toge, which I thought was really good. It doesn't really fit in with your preferences though. Summer Nude is one of my favourites. I'd also recommend Shitsuren Choclatier and Coffee-ya no Hitobito.fanaticgurl wrote:Hello guys!

Just like what I've said, any genre will do. =) I searched Alice no Toge and found out that it was a suspense drama. I do love suspense/crime dramas just like Bloody Monday, one of my faves!tomzero wrote:fanaticgurl wrote:Hello guys!

Blue Blazes also plays in the 1970s, or early 1980s. It's about creators of manga and anime in college. Very mangaesque

I'll check it out. It sounds (vaguely?) similar to Kekkon Dekinai Otoko (lit. the man who can't marry), which is one of my favorites.yanie wrote:For me, its got to be DATE -koi to wa donna mono kashira- : http://asianwiki.com/Date_%28Japanese_Drama%29
It's like a sister drama to Saikou no Rikon.
Maybe you can try theseJennySolln wrote:Hi,
I am looking for jdramas about older woman / younger man. Not necessarily a biiig age diference, but something like "Kimi wa petto" or "Kyou wa kaisha yasumimasu ". on the romantic-comedy side.
Sorry, I can't help you with the unidentified drama.JLove wrote:Hello,
I am not sure if this is the place to ask. I'm hoping that someone to help me identify a jdrama but I may not have many clues at all.
A few years ago (probably), I stumbled upon a Japanese period drama (I believe it was the Edo period) while channel flipping on cable. Not too sure if the drama is by NHK as NHK is the only Japanese channel that I have on cable although a couple of other channels have broadcasted some dramas from other Japanese channels even if it's not as frequent.
When I stumbled upon the drama, it was the scene of a man and a woman trying to make the perfect sweet red bean paste. They tried and tried and tried throughout the night and finally they got the right taste of the sweet red bean paste when morning comes. I think the success will implicate the woman's standing in the business dominated by men (at least that's what I thought I understood). I've always thought that drama was about wagashi but since then I haven't seen any other episodes of that particular period drama to be sure of it.
At that time I wasn't really following japanese dramas as I haven't discovered DA so I didn't really bothered much but years passed and I learned much more about the Japanese culture and watched plenty of Japanese drama about food. So I just happened to recall this particular drama (or rather particular scene of this drama) that I watched by chance.
I really hope someone knows what drama is this and I hope it is still available on the net and that there are eng subs for it. Do advice if anyone knows.
Clues to identify drama:
- period drama (most possibly edo period)
- most likely NHK channel but not entirely sure
- there is a scene where a man and a woman were trying to succeed in making a good sweet red bean paste throughout the night
- the woman in the scene could be trying to make a name for herself in the business of sweet red bean paste making or wagashi making in a male dominated business
p/s: It's ok if you don't know the drama. I would appreciate if there are suggestions on dramas about wagashi and the business/traditions surrounding wagashi. I've watched Ando Natsu and the asadora, Asuka. I really loved these 2 dramas and enjoyed learning more about wagashi.

1. Detectives, crimes, mysteries, mindblowing and things that needs to be "solved"but not too serious, with little dish of comedy or anything haha. I love em
2. Romcoms, more on childhood friends then grew then things happen
3. Music with a little bit of comedy (Like Swing GIrls or something like that haha)
Or any other genre that you would really want to share
Thanks for these! Everything's interesting, I may look for torrents sooner or later hahaisla07 wrote:

If you haven't seen Nobuta wo Produce, I strongly recommend it and:
BOSS (Amami Yuki) - crime, comedy
Don Quixote (Matsuda Shota) - comedy, work
Bitter Blood (Sato Takeru, Atsuro Watabe) - crime, comedy
N no Tame Ni (Eiruka Nana, Kubota Masataka) - crime, mystery, friendship
Mondai no Aru Restaurant - the first ep may not be interesting but it gets better as the series progresses (Yoko Maki) - social issues, friendship
Tenno no Ryoriban (Sato Takeru, Kuroki Haru) - historical, human drama (this is really good)
