Any girl that finds men with thicker skin (thickeras in slightly, im not talking about Jared from subway... more like a Hawaiian big and tough kind). I can endure all weather regardless. Also, guys like to control their wallets - what we really want is more quality time without spending very much. Any girl that likes a tough guy and finds him cuddly and feels safe around him. Also, dont cuddle when its hot, it gets even hotter and sweat dosent smell good

Oh, Asian women suit me best - Japanese in particular. But any asian type would do :P

Thick skin or fat?

Cool statement about wallets...I hate someone spending money because of me.It would make me feel like I owe him.
Is it wrong if girl wants to spare time walking with her boyfriend (no matter where) and not going to the most expensive club???

A girl who enjoys your presence. Shes just happy to be around me and i'm happy to be around her even if there is nothing to do or we aren't doing anything. A girl who just calms down sometimes doesn't want to keep moving all the time.

Appearance wise just someone who take care of themselves. For me looks are on the back burner if you have a great personality its hard for me to say no.

Haha I read some of these posts and I'm like.. are you guys for real? I don't want to call anyone a hypocrite, but looks do matter (to an extent) because let's face it, that's the first thing that attracts us to anyone. I would hope guys care about personality too, but from what I've experienced guys only go for the hot, big boobed, tan, blonde girls.

I'm from Orange County (Newport Beach / Irvine to be exact) so maybe this is just too typical. It seems here, everyone is more shallow and more superficial. I'm not saying I'm any different, I am a bit superficial when it comes to material possession, but as far as dating is concerned, I don't want a pretty boy who just sits there like a blob.

I'm confident, I guess I'm relatively nice looking (I'm not fat, nor am I ugly and I have asian features), I love sports (mostly football), I have ambitions, I'm easy going, and I'm spontaneous and fun.

But it gets a bit frustrating when you're going out with a guy and he dumps you for no reason because he wants to hook up with a dumb blonde -__- . Yeah he's a douche, but your confidence can't help but feel like it got kicked in the balls. And you're left wondering.. "what's wrong with me?" (even though you know he's a douche)

Haha what do guys want in a girl? A complete, honest answer would be appreciated ;)

lols...thanks for starting thsi topic dreamfall...definitely a good way 2 kill time...very amusing and interesting at the same time.

i got a question for you guys....some1 mentioned that u need to befriend a guy, be your tru self and get to know them first, (just incase they dont notice u bc...lets say u dont stand out from the crowd like some other fortunate looking girls.)...well after befriending the guys, u get along extremely and then u fall into the friends area and stay like that bc they see u as one of the guys...bc u get along tooo well.

now if u befriend a guy and after learning from you 10 or so years with being just friends with all ur guys...u try and not be sooo much urself..(me being very stubborn, i know what i want...quite talktive and i hate that guys have 2 pay for everything...its nice i kno but still)...soo u lessen everything down...but then i dont feel happy bc im NOT being myself and i feel as tho i hav 2 act everytime just to impress/atrract a guy in a non friend way.

i kno thats a long post...but thats like the story of my life.....im slightly below average but get along like a house on fire with all my guy friends...infact about 70-80% of my friends are male....not that im complianing i love my guy friends....and im not out on the prowl...but im just saying...in those circumstances...how do u guys feel about female friends that r like mates...would u date them?? or is this a big turn off for u?? and does it make u guys feel inferior if ur girlfriends hav abit more money/pays sometimes when ur out 2gether???

Thanks chubchub ,I'm flattered
Also thanks for asking great q. cuz I forgot about it even tho I have same problem. My friends are also about 80% guys. And one more thing : I've started practising kick-box (for fun) about year ago,so I've got many new friends...but mostly guys :-( I don't mind,It's cool to have male friends in that amount. But I feel like they consider me more as someone equal to them and not as a girl to fall in love with.

I feel jealous sometimes when I see my friends checking out a girl wearing mini-skirt ,girl having big bust of course. They often mention that it's important for girl to dress like that (to provocate,I guess ?!) but I don't see how is that gona help me since I'm not use to it ?!?!?!?!?

Let's see...
She's pretty, but not excessively.
She doesn't care about money.
She can feel it when something is bothering you.
She's concious of herself, and of others.
She likes you for you.

i dont really have any problems with dating a girl whos a friend of course i would have to think about it before i were to pursue the relationship but more than likely i would actually pursue it in the end

thanks for that dreamfall...lols im sure im not the only one in that kinda situation...but its nice to hear that its not just me...its just hard when u fall into the 'mates' category and then they treat u like a male friend or a brother....get all the treatments of a boy, and the expectations of a girl...

dyesan2003 u say that she doesnt care about money...as in status wise..she doesnt mind if u have money or as in shes not materialistic??

@dreamfall: I really like to talk a walk with a girl, but we guys might think that its boring for u girls. So its better that you say it to the guy. Or else how should he know, and really? do you really think that it is that you owe us when we pay for u? Hmm Ive never thought about it, i have always been the one who pays and it doesnt seem that they feel that they owe me.

@chubchub and dreamfall: Well i have a few friends that are girls, but I dont really like them because they dont really attract me, so mostly guys that are your friend dont see you attractive, well u might be attractive but might be they just dont like u as a girlfriend. and the thing with miniskirt and so on. ofc we guys like it, were guys.. hehe but I wouldnt like a gf that wears miniskirt all the time, its nice ofc but its not nice when u r introducing ur gf to friends or family.

And the thing with money or being materialistic. I dont like money that much, im more like when I see a niiiiiiice car or nice motorbike, I look at it at once because i like it, but when I see a person with money its not like im looking at it then.. hehehe nice cars and bikes r good ****!<3

@chubchub

"doesn't care about money"
Yeah I guess that was pretty vague. I meant that a girl shouldn't be obsessed over material objects. Alot of girls I know actually make fun of people with "unbranded" clothing or look down upon people with cheap clothes, or something stupid like that...the girls that have to have numerous LV handbags, one for each day of the week..

I mean I can understand girls liking handbags, that's a natural thing, but alot and I mean ALOT of girls go overboard. In fact, I can't but help myself to judge a girl by her bag itself. But that's a topic for another forum...

Some of u didn't understand me well enough...so I have to explain a bit. It's not like I know some guys for long time or so...Problem is this: they "mark" me as a friend at the start (when we introduce and so...).It is normal ,when u know someone for long time ,to consider that person as a friend. But usualy 'sparkles' happen when u see someone for the first time or when u get to know that person a bit and u already see he/she fits u.

But this doesn't bother me so much now cuz I met a really cool guy last night!!!!! (I was with my friend , she introduced us). He likes jap. movies an so many same things! And he was amazed with me *blush*. I admit he's not like some japanese ,cute , hot.... guy, but I think we would get along easily!

As long as a girl does not fit the paper bag criteria; the she is probably ok.
It's a big "+" if they have any of the following:
-Big boobs
-Nice behind ( "I like big butts and I cannot lie")
-Nice Legs
-Fit stomach
-Nice face

Its a big let down when girls:
-are bitchy
-needy
-have ugly faces
-bodies that don't match the face
-are retarded.

I live in Long Beach, California and the consensus here is that a hot girl who "puts" out is the best. Not really girl friend material though. Easy games get boring after a short while-- know what I'm saying.

I would like a girl that is pretty cutesy, pretty, not a bookworm, doesn't get affected by what others think much, won't cheat on me, likes me for what i truly am, and won't dump me if I was financially troubled, and uses none or minimal make-up.

That basically is all, for outer appearance and inner personality.

Like I said "if they are not paper bag material then they are probably ok."
It's a big plus if they have those things, but a nice persoanlity can go a long way. Ugly faces are sometimes scary and I tend to stay away from them.

What do I look for?
- Someone who will make me laugh
- Someone who isn't afraid to be honest with me and herself
- Someone who can make me smile with just a look
- Someone who isn't a drama queen; someone who doesn't think she's gods gift to women
- Someone who knows they're beautiful, yet doesn't flaunt it.
- Someone who will comfort me when I've had a bad day
- Someone who will let me lay my head in their lap

I know appearance matters to both sexes and I would lbe lying if I said appearance doesn't matter, but I don't think much of it. I just want someone to make me happy.

Am I being too picky?

1. well, i like things that last long, and like you see everydayy for example!
- cell phone things
- lead pencils
- food (well i guess this doesnt last long but ._.)
- key chainss
- pictures!

2. personally, as long as the girl doesnt criticize a lot on how my hair/shirt/etc looks then im fine! for example!
- if they said "eww you should wear this type of shirt" then id hate it
- but if i said "what do you think of this shirt?" and then she goes "uhh i think you should wear something that has like, a collar on it maybe?" then id like it :D

but thats just me!
i dont know about other people

personally I think it's normal / appropriate for girls to at least wear some perfume. I have noticed that most asian girls don't have the habit to wear perfume. I am chinese and i know it is a culture thing / habit to not wear perfume but doesn't the surrounding just kind enforces you to wear some? I mean it smells nice...

also I am a freshman in college and i don't thin it's all that easy to make friends during classes. i mean it is a bunch of strangers going to class and maybe stumbling over 1 person everyday. What do you guys take on such thing? Is college really ALL that easy to make friends and have a network? What's the best way to make more friends and have meaningful ones comparing to random strangers as friends?

@pwner4once...don't worry...everybody needs time to find new friends, especialy meaningful ones, and of course :it's harder to make them in new surrounding.Just be what u are and let ppl get use to you,so u wont be newcomer for them anymore.
This is advice that came from my own expirience :-)

sometimes I think it's good to not take myself too seriously. Today I had my first philosophy lecture class and it was hell. The prof went so fast and I couldn't even finish taking my notes down. Gar... and then homework due next friday. Headache :*(

to address OP's orignal question..

hmmm I like cool, tall, loner yet sweet, but not cloyingly sweet tho :P, confident about herself without being a smart ass (bytch), NOT too talkative, and a light smoker..
I know smoking it's not good.. but I find girls who smoke very sexy! :D
and someone who you are comfortable to be with, just to spend time without doing anything...

some guys do not like girls to wear perfume or make-up, there are always 2 sides to it, and one of them would be that this kind of external additions to the body seem fake... some guys prefer their girls to look simple yet sweet

well, as a girl, i totally dislike the smell of perfume so i never put it, just minimal scented powder is good enough. but its up to individual taste, then get a boyfren who seconds that.. hehe..

Can any guy honestly say they don't care about appearance?

All last year, I was busy with school work and just pulled on whatever was in my closet before leaving for my classes. Only my friends would ever see me and say hi to me.

This year, I've made extra time to dress up. A nice skirt (occasionally a mini), a fitting shirt, a nice pair of heels, and a dab of clear, sparkling lip gloss. I brush my waist-long hair until I can run a comb through it instead of tying it up in a messy ponytail. It helps me feel confident, and makes me not skip class after I spent all the effort to get ready for the day. And guess what? Guys who never knew of my existence started saying hi to me.

It's true even with the "nice" guys who didn't seem to care about a girl's looks.

well, its right what u are saying.. but when u said u were focused on school and just pulled on whatever was on ur closet. Was it really bad? for instance that u looked like umm, very terrible? I dunno but if u at least looked normal I guess they will look at u...
And ofc guys will notice when u wear miniskirts and so on..
If a guy say that they dont care about a girls appearance, then I would say they are lying.
At the beginning every guy like u partly because of ur appearance, but it might be after a while they dont care so much anymore, because it might be that he is got to know u better. The first impression of a person is very important.
ya'll feel me?

lol. A horrible image just popped into my head. When I said "pulled out of the closet", I meant just a t-shirt with jeans, worn flip-flops and a comfy sweatshirt (not baggy, just comfy). Nothing too horrible... I don't think.

Hi ppl!!!...I haven't checked this place for a long time...also I'm single again so I'm confused with myself because I did all the oposite from what u ppl have sugested about what guys want...

Now some of my friends think I'm a mindless, cruel ****...others think I'm stupid for being alone again(and it's all my fault ^_^;;;)and just one of my friends thinks I'm right for choosing to be alone.

Do u guys think that u can make yourself adorable just by breathing and sleeping? Guys expect for girls not to be nerds and not to act like a lot smarter than they are....than how stupid I must be with a guy that is just barely walking ZOMBIE and nothing else???

Is it such a big problem if girl wants inteligent guy by her side????

@Shadow Hexagram...no worry...it's MY thread so I want it all honest...no mercy!

heh...long one....ja-na!

As a girl getting a double degree in computer science and materials engineering... I should hope that guys don't want mindless zombies. O.o Otherwise, I might as well resign myself to being asexual.

Someone who's a copy of me, but in a female form, both in body and mind. Most women are, since many loves romance as much as i do. Still it's the kind of romance about life that in tresses me.

Hm, I personally like..
-Intelligent girls
-Sporty girls
-Funny girls? (sounds weird)
-Straight forward girls. I personally dont like girls that hold things in for a few days, then let it all out at once. I mean if theres something I've done wrong or something we should do or consider... Tell me, don't store it all in, Least we can do is talk about it. I know some Girls might be shy but couples is all about trust, Honesty, and helping each other's flaws to fulfill one-another. And by Storing things isn't going to help, yet make their partner worried. Sorry, just have an issue with that -.-;''
-Cool type
-From cute to attractive. Majority Cute, Ugh *Thumps on chest* Love girls with dimples, too cute. *Rolls eyes back* Just wanna poke them haha. ( I know sounded weird coming from a guy, But thinking about makes my heart beat 10x faster lol)
-Theres more, but just to end it, a girl that knows the outside world

Oh man, I would say there were a few types...

-intelligent girls
-girls that are open with their feelings, i don't think a girl playing hard to get would suit me
-funny/nerdy girls - just something 'bout them :)
-cool types

well i dunno what to say about myself, i personally like all/most types of girls that i can think of, just too many to put down, those four would be the top four i think though. haha just like that guy above me, a girl with dimples will make me weak. On second thought, for the most part, a girl with style combined with any of those above categories would make me toss and turn at night. :D

That's the thing:) First a punch for defeated pride and then reunion cuddle. Not the "I'm going to sit in the corner and hate you for winning".

Ah, and yah, it is ok to take it into a wider sense than pillow fights.

Wise words :)

I like all kind of different girls, but the one thing I don't like is girls who worry too much about everything. I've already had enough of that for a whole lifetime.

On the other hand, I always fall for really adventerous, direct and open girls, but I can't deal with that either

lol guccijana, most people who are over 18 don't make those kind of comments.

i find younger boys making nasty jokes and using vulgar language than most 20+ year olds

PS: looks doesn't really matter as long as i can go with her in a mall or in an amusement park without the feeling of being ashamed or being laughed at. :P

They say that there are few people who exist that upon meeting them the world, as you know it is promptly swept away and you have changed forever as a person. She was one such person. Much of what I am today was because of her. I will always remember the time we spent together, it was magical. I will always miss your hair in the morning and the wonderful smell on your pillow. You inspired me.

Tu me manques.... :-(

One that likes to play games and not a sore loser would be of interest, and a couple of nice flaws which can be exploited would be interesting as well.

haha, that made me laugh. but in a 'that's so mean' kinda way...

i'm a girl, yeah, and most of these answers totally confuse me. i'd say 97 percent of guys i've encountered are totally shallow and superficial. is it just D-addicts guys who like personalities better than looks? those types of boys don't seem to exist in the real world. or at least not in high school. (Actually, i've kind of tested out of high school, so now i don't even have the chance to meet people ((ok, boys)) there. it gets me away from a lot of pricks, but i also feel like by not going to school, i'm missing out on a person who'll really get me?)

this is a very interesting topic, ne.

It might come across as mean but it isn't, first off, if they don't have flaws, then they ain't human, second, every person will exploit a flaw of another person; from gaining that item they currently set their eyes on from their parents, to a business deal or a fight, if you know or see a flaw you will exploit it because you want to achieve your goal, so what better way to have your boy- or girlfriend help you notice these flaws and learn from it.

You learn from losing not from winning, besides it makes the relationship a lot more interesting. There has to be conflicts in a relationship, you don't have to go out of your way to make them, I also think that you shouldn't avoid them, they'll pop up by themselves, conflicts, change, flaws, they are all interesting.

Gawd there is nothing sexier than a woman that can pick me up and buy things for me instead of me doing it all the time.
