Not sure how much I like though since I've had some pretty crappy teachers in my Electrical Engineering classes.

I work for an energy company, hopefully permanently soon, but its a lazy office job, walk around making copies, typing crap on computers, (but what im really doing, chatting on aim, youtube) and once in awhile i fix computers, but im also a student, about to graduate, but I pretty much have a career already, im a finance/accounting major, but I want to cram some computer science into there, unfortunately my school didnt let me, but I work for one of those evil energy companies!!! enjoy your high energy rates suckers!!! im kidding, but i really do, lol. I work for whoever gives me more money, hey if it were tobacco or some antitobacco group, whoever has the bigger paycheck, lol. And thanks to this job, im gonna get a new Lancer EVO MR!!! wooo!!!

i'm a geophysicist.. which means i studied geophysics last time.. something like geology + physics..

now working at a company which concentrate on office job.. and since i'm more to the outdoor type.. i'm thinking of continuing with M. Sc in petroleum geophysics/petroleum geoscience.. only i don't have any idea where yet..

other than that.. full time supporter of torrent downloading..

wish i can speak korean or japanese or mandarin.. so that i can help with the subbing..

You call staying at home and being a luck bum? I wouldn't call it lucky for me. I'm pretty much like that right now....you know staying at home all day long doing nothing. My daily routine start at 6:30 am, I wake up - wash up - get breakfast started - wake my kids up and get them ready for school - drove each of them to four different schools - come back home to do daily morning cleaning - pick up my 4 year old from preschool - 2 hours later pick my daughter from elementary school - 20 minutes later pick my 2 sons at high school - cook dinner at 5:00pm - pick my oldest daughter up from college - eat dinner with family and clean up - help kids with homework, sign school papers, and watch a little dramas online or watch tv for about 2 hours - take 4 years old son for a bath....sleep at 12:00 am because staying up watching dramas online....
That's because I can't find a job right now....I used to work odd jobs from weaving, to dishwashing, maid, care provider, diet aide helper etc...but right now I consider myself a bum. I am at my lowest now without a job.

you really should get the highschoolers and the college one to catch the bus or any other public transport! its all part of the growing up process...but i suppose if there isnt anything like that available..ull have to do it..

Well actually I work part time as a Care Provider (assist the elderly or disable person in their home so they don't have to live in a nursing home) right now and some times I'll get a second part time job.
Secondly, I have to drives my kids to and from schools because where we live doesn't have bus that pick them up.
Third, my husband isn't being proud because he always complained that I stay home and watch dramas all day on the net. The truth is I do watch dramas in between all that and that's what pissed him off. Anyway I don't really care because I know I do more than he does in a day!

speaking of ERASMUS student, my stepdaugther had just finish her one year of erasmus in POLAND, shes taking Droit International in the faculty of Orleans. you know we're almost in the same position in life. me too is a plainhouswife of which me myself choose to be. I only have one son and i want to profit the situation being a mother and with my husband's nature of work ( chef-de-cuisine), i prefere to stay at home and be there for them for there support. same thing with you, have to wake-up in the morning ( at seven though ) to prepaire bfast for them, its my husband who brings my son to school and me picking him up after. all day long i am alone, that once they left the house i prepaire my bfast and take them in front of the computer, starts my day with kdramas. noontime strikes thats then i have to move to do the house chores 'till time for me to pick up my son from school. then comes the preparation for dinner, help my son's homework, prepaire him to bed, clean the kitchen and when all is done...voila... me continuing my kdrama obsession 'till midnight 'till my husband comes back from work. i sometimes stayed late 'till 2 am and that's where me and my hubby had a fight. its normal but he sometimes understands me though. what is terrible is the winter season where i am really scotchy in front of the computer, as if i am magnetised by it, LOL. you know, its so cold outside so i better stay inside in the warm. the only time i can get off away from the computer, the day i do some groceries and some shopping with friends.

well, lucky for those who has their respective career and works. actually, each one of us has not the same fate in life. me i choose to be this way, you who works must work. those who dont work and do nothing at all - they are like that too. so everyone of us has different reason to live life, i just hpe that most of us learn how to accept of what we had and learn how to manage them. sometimes there are some échecs; ex: depressions - that may lead sometimes to suscidal.

I'm in my third year of college studying Foreign languages and cultures and working hard to finish as soon as I can.Working with this rythm is not possible but I do help out my parents with their shop. It's a bit hard right now 'cause sticking to studying makes me feel rather useless..
I hope to be able to work as a translator for a company. That's why I plan to spend my internship in a traslating office where I live, given that they accept me first. If that doesnt' work, teaching might be the second best choice.

I wish you good luck, my old classmate who is a known reverse engineer (also known in Germany) and praised on several conventions and speeches even in America as well, just returned from Japan declining, for several reasons, job offers from several Japanese game companies, including all major ones.

Japanese companies still have a very strict "ranking" system, that I find still very discriminating on several factors, as a foreigner your ranking will be below that of the native females and they don't look at female co-workers in a respective view either, this has nothing to do with your skill, you might even be the most awesome at what you do yet your foreign or female, maybe even both (than your really screwed) than automatically you are inferior and be treated as such.

I'm not saying all companies are like that, their might be ones that don't have it but a lot of them are still like that.

I'm not trying to shatter your dreams or anything, I'd love to be proved wrong, and I really hope you'll be able to work as a programmer at a Japanese game company but I do think you should do some research on what's it's like to actually live and work in Japan, especially at game companies. Game companies overall are already odd companies to work in, for most game companies it's quite normal to go into crunch time multiple times, and a lot of times you'll get no pay for it. Japan already has way longer working hours than Europe can you imagine the crunch times on top of that? Without pay. All your Japanese colleagues will be doing that.

Going on vacation to Japan is a lot different than actually working and living there, the competition is very high and the market isn't as stable and profitable as it used to be, mainly because of the recent boost of the Chinese market and the still steadily growing Korean market.

They don't just take any foreign programmer with some skill, you'll have to have worked on published games for a couple of years for sure, at least 3 years, 5 years would be a lot better but a minimum of 3 years will be a standard requirement. They have enough native programmers to setup another 50 game companies easy but not all of them have worked on published games, this will give you a bit of an edge and a lot who actually worked on published games worked on story games.

Your communication in Japanese will have to be at business level, they can't wait on a programmer that has trouble communicating in Japanese on a sufficient level, there is no time for that in programming games, I suggest trying to get the highest test as possible for you Japanese, it'll increase your chances a lot more, like you many other programmers aspire to work at a Japanese game company if your Japanese is better than theirs you beat the foreign competition with that.
