I'm going to a senior this upcoming year. Thus, I have one more year to decide on what I want to major in. Here are my top choices:

MAJOR: International Business & International Studies
MINOR: Asian Studies (japanese or chinese language would be nice)

Seems like we have some variety in here. From the arts to business to science. :)

I myself got my BS with a double major in computer science and in being a slacker. I got a minor in mathematics, but in retrospect I should've just took that as another major with a few more classes. Being too much of a slacker got in the way there! haha

Sadly I decided to get a MS in comp. sci. too. And even though I also work in the midst of this, believe me I still make loads of time to slack off and watch a drama (or whatever) ep or two. :D Of course because of that it's going to take me longer to finish my darn thesis and graduate...

^ I'm 2nd year. It's kinda complicated. I have to take a lot of prerequisites and liberal arts classes. Fun. :|

I hope you have another motivation though. Something more personal, you know? I've always wanted to work at a hospital ever since I can imagine (sounds corny, yeah). My motivation is all the disable children I worked with at my old school and a certain relative. It's pretty depressing being around the sick sometimes. Medical and nursing school is friggin' difficult and is not what it may seem like on television. ...But I'm sure we can do it. :-)

I'm taking classes at a 2 year college now, that way I can get all those prerequisites out the way. I can transfer next school you, Fall 07, but I'm not sure if I should.

I do have enough motivation. It's just that I never had the stomach to handle it. You know, looking at peoples organs and things like that. Anything that looked cross, made me gag. But recently it hasn't been like that at all. I want to go into neurology. To think of how many diseases there are that have no cure yet it sad. That's how 1 litre of Tears kinda motivated me. Its based off a true story of a girl who died over 10 years ago, and there is still no cure. Those diseases can happen to anyone, you, me, parents, siblings, friends, family, strangers, and no cure would be there to help them or doctors aren't skilled enough to perform the operation. The though of that is what motivates me. I want to do something about it.

Well, I'll add my bit in as well, even though I'm pretty sure I'm the only Mathematics major on the entire site. *grin* At least it's my last semester... and then I can go back to the working world, which I'm looking forward to. After a year of study abroad.

Would have gotten a degree in computer science, but I've been programming since a rather young age, and didn't feel like having to extend my college career by over a year, just to re-learn how to implement a red/black tree. That, and I'd have to give up on my Japanese double-major, because there's no way I'd have time to keep up with everything.

SummerMemories: My advice is to get a degree in whatever you find interesting, and not worry too much about the money aspect of your 'future careers'; I know a lot of people who rushed to get CompSci degrees because it was 'easy money', and now they're making so-so money, doing a job they hate, and because they have no passion for what they're doing, they aren't notably good at it.

I'm a Pre-med major with a minor in Physics and Cultural Anthropology [I never intended to have it as a minor but I just found myself enjoying Anthro so I thought, eh why not?]. I was still unsure if I wanted to go ahead and be Pre-med, instead opting for more of a chemical/biological engineering type job, but since I just found out I got into med school [UCSF here I come!], I thought I'd really give this being a doctor thing a shot :) .

I'm pretty determined but if by chance I find out I'm not cut out for this job, there's always Pharmacy as a backup :lol v !!

Sociology here. But recently I've found out that my field is not a good place to make money right now. So I'm getting back in to do Fire Protection. Now THAT'S where the money's at right now in my area. 6 figures baby! Easy money.
