It's doesn't matter if your a girl and want to become a race car driver. As long as you got what it takes, you should be fine.

Oh, btw, does being a bum count as a hobby? :D

Internet surfing
China Town (There's one not too far away from me, and I enjoy just walking around there. ^^)

I assume this means besides watching anime and dorama ;^)

I read. A lot. I have 4000 books in my home. Mostly classics of literature.

Another hobby is guru-surfing the mencoder and transcode lists to help people (people who run Linux, anyway) that want to make dvd's that will let them play their p2p files on a commercial dvd player and an analog (crt) TV set without the subtitles being clipped off. As silly and speacialised as that sounds, it keeps me pretty busy. I spend at least a couple hours every day doing that.

I also host the Transcode website on the webserver in my kitchen, and try to be a significant contributor to the Transcode online documentation. The same webserver serves up the webpages for the LUG (Linux User Group) that I founded.

I ALSO have been putting together a college level course on the socio-cultural implications of Japanese animation viewing in countries other than Japan. But I may never teach the course because I already have more to do than I can handle...

My hobbies are pretty average, I'm just an average person..

Pretty much just watching J-doramas, playing music games, learning Japanese and school (if that counts). I ride my bike occasionally.

As I said, average.

Same!

My hobby is watching, collecting k-drama and anime. (since I started watching K-Drama I fit in about 2 anime episodes a week instead of the old 50) Also collecting j-drama but haven't started watching them yet, maybe one day.

Ohh! I'm stuck stuck in the Gangzi Mountains. Its like you know where the Ronso live? I'm up to the part where you have to defeat Seymour. *he won't die*

So i'm stuck there since the last time I spent three hours and ended up getting killed over and over again. Although it can be partly my fault since I haven't upgrade them high enough. ^^;;

Yup yup try playing VIII its really good :wub: even if people think VII is better in terms of storyline

I don't have too many hobbies - mostly because teaching occupies way too much of my existence. Anyways, some of my hobbies include:

watching anime and Asian dramas (but not a lot because I can be pretty selective in what I like to watch)
surfing the net
playing video games - mostly the survival horror ones - just finished Silent Hill:The Room
gambling - it doesn't matter whether it's mahjong, slots, cards, etc. I'm there
Reading either manga, socio-culture or philosophy books, fictional books by Asian authors (but no Amy Tan)
cooking

Unfortunately, all these things I enjoy doing I don't get to do too much of....with the exception of surfing the net.

I'm stuck at the same spot!! my friend said it's the hardest fight in the whole game.
Seymour sucks. grr, i will beat him!! it's just taking forever... :-(

^^;; phew glad I'm not the only one. ;_________; I been trying for 3 hours straight. Yes Seymour doesn't die, I mean how many times have we killed him? *sighs frustrated*

I think I will try again...*resigned*

But if anyone has any ideas on how to kill him, HELP!

Hey, I havent played FFX in years so I am not sure if I am remembering this well... I also have FFX International, so there could be some variation...

I think I remember that I had all my characters and aeons all at overdrive ready state... Tidus should really have Hastega so use it to haste everyone... Auron should be in the party because of this strength and Yuna for summoning purposes... If Lulu already had Bio that would be helpful... Swap Yuna and Lulu in and out and make sure they are both hasted... Then just summon your Aeons and let him have it with their overdrives and attack him with them until he gets rid of them... then the next aeon... blah blah blah... You NEED hastega... That is key to the battle...

Been playing a lot of FFX-2 recently. I find it really funny in a good way and its really fun too. If you guys have time, give it a try! =D

I used to play video games a lot but it's way too addictive for me to go back again. Sitting on your ass 5-10 hrs a day playing video games is not very productive and not exactly a healthy lifestyle.

Yeah.. my male friends liked that game too. (and the only reason they said they liked it was because the girls were sexy. loll :P ) but most of the people I know thought FFX was better.Speaking of FFX, I haven't even finished it yet. :blink

If u need tips on FFX or FFX-2 or anything else, gimmi an ask. I 'should know the answer. :D
Even though I dont really like FFX or FFX-2.

My favourite authors are David Gemmell, Matthew Reilly, Frank Herbert. Currently reading Lord of the Silver Bow by Gemmell.

I dont really like the new Gundam series. I find that they just use old formula's from UC to try to get in watchers. Basically I dislike GS and GSD. GS was an ok series, but I really dislike GSD. Too much crying I guess. My fav Gundam series would be 0083. Mainly because I really like Anavel Gato and how Kou Uraki is such a pig-headed basturd. But Im more of a Macross person rather than Gundam. Macross 7/SDF Macross are my favourite Macross series.

Yea sure im 18, but people say that I look 25, and even though Im in 1st year of Uni, I have about 5 18 y/o friends. Rest at 20+. Hence me feeling old as well. Since I don't do what 18 y/o's do.

surrealistic-destiny... well, its hard to say, I liked FFX-2 because I found that it expanded on the story (always good if you really liked FFX's story) and it does really have some really comedic moments in it! Rikku and Yuna are so darn funny and the addition of Paine is pretty nice too since she seems to be the only one with a level head amongst these two crazy ladies! Especially if you do the side missions, you will see quite a few scenes that will crack you up... well it did for me, but humour is relatively subjective =P

On top of that it gives you incentive to replay the game with multiple endings and allowing you to keep your learnt ablities and items and so forth. Levels reset to 1 when you start over though, so you have to level up again, but there are ways around that with certain items in your second playthrough =P

I dont know... I know that its been criticised as well, but I really liked it... =) So I recommend it, but again i played FFX-2 International + Last Mission, so there could be some variability... =)

jyrds admits that he doesnt like it, so I guess its best to give it a try first... before wasting your money on something you may not like =) But I enjoyed FFX and that contributed to my enjoyment in FFX-2, so definitely check it out once you are finished with FFX.

Did the tips help though? I hope you were able to beat that horrible Seymour... that guy ticks me off so bad!! >_<!! =P

Hmm Hobbies? Let's seeeeee

downloading drama's and anime...
collecting cd singles and albums of groups I like....
playing world of warcraft (omg its an addiction I tell you)
and ah..yes, the most important hobby of mine..singing..I love to sing
sing til the cows come home, sing til the cows run away from home,
I came outta the womb singing - just something I have always done,
it's more like a unconscious mannerism as opposed to a hobby

WOW!! That ROCKS!! =D As for me I came out to the world deprived of musical talent, when I sing flowers wither and the earth keels over and wishes me to stay silent... forever :pale:

That cannot be true.. there are only 5 people I have heard that REALLY CANNOT SING.. everyone else can, they just cannot figure out how to work their own voice yet.. like my sister - ok..she could carry a tune if she just focused but she would rather try to sing like say Mariah Carey or Celine Dion and it just does not work for her.

The good part about singing - it makes me happy and I feel alive when I do it...the world just melts away and I feel like wind flowing about nature and all that nice and good sappy stuff.
The bad part about singing - people tend to make you feel like you are the most amazing singer in the world then something or someone comes and bursts your bubble like no other. (sad anecdote ahead - and sad as in lame) Because I have sung my whole life, people started to notice and convinced me to do talent competitions and things like that.. I've won a couple but I am not what you would call pop idol material I guess.. and how do I know this? Cuz I sadly auditioned for American Idol and lol to quote the producer "You have an amazing voice but you are not what we are looking for." *sigh* and now I sit back and wonder why I put myself through all that..when I can sit at home and just belt out a few songs in languages I don't know and all 9 of my cats love it!

teamFun Thankies for the tips. I haven't tried it since I haven't touched my PS2 yet..but I will let you know how it goes.
The songs of FF X-2 are good though I have to admit.

jyrds
David Gemmell...Ahh, I haven't read any of his works. I guess I could give it a try since the last book I read was Count of Monte Cristo. Have you tried David Eddings? He's one of my favouritie authors. Anne Rice is good too if your in that vampire stuff.

Well, GS wasn't my first mecha series. I used to love Transformers and Robotect, I think its called Macross though. The one with Rick Hunter and Lisa Hayes? Macross Plus was good too.

ahh. I get what you mean about being old. ^^;; Sometimes people think I'm in uni or something or worse finished uni. >>;;

I think I have read 1 of Edding's books. Dont remember it tho. It was a while ago..

Oh thats right, I forgot one of my other likes/hobbies.. I used to go to choir in junior high, and learnt how to sing there. Also was in the church choir. Havnt really done much singing lately tho, except for kareoke.... gah, my voice is just bad for the pop songs I like... its around baritone (below tenor, higher than bass) and I like boy bands... They sing high.. and church songs dont work at kareoke... :(

If you haven't.... try reading them. One of them is Pawn of Prophecy. His books are really good. Dragon of Pern novels are good along with Dragonlance. I remeber crying when reading one <<;;

Hey thats nice you sing. I used to to *cough* *cough* back in year 8 but now...hmmm lets not go there....>>;;

quikbunny what anime are you watching these days? I'm trying to watch Vandred at the moment and I think the plot is :scratch: I have no idea.

Right now I am purchasing the dvds for Kyou Kara Maou - its funny as hell and I love it - and Kodocha... I am currently downloading BLEACH and um..*checks folder* Oh yes Paradise Kiss..and I must say I am slightly dissappointed in the ParaKiss anime.. I don't really like the SDs and Arashi is not as hot as he should be LOL. I was downloading Tsubasa Chronicle but I have stopped on that one for a bit - I am just not really feeling it.
