how tall are you guys? im only 5' 8"...gotta drink more milk, yeah, that will make me taller

I'm about the same, but in a community dominated by diminutive asians I feel quite tall . However when I hang out with my white freinds and at family get togethers I feel like a shrimp.

Im 6'2", I feel so small sometimes when really tall people come into my work. There was this girl who came in once had to be like 6'10- 7'" man did I ever feel smal lol.

ya I dunno though I guess it could be your area. I am usually taller than the majority of people around here but everyone seems to adverage about 6'. I wouldnt really consider 5'8" short though my dad was 5'11". I will start having to take a survey of all the people in my area LOL.

Yeah...at 6'4", I hit my head on many private dwelling doorjams in Japan...there is a forcefully learned method for walking around houses due to scraping the top of your head or smacking your forehead on wooden planks.

Well, thats not so much as some places i.e Vietnam. At least in Japan, and moreso in Korea, you have actually taller people to contend with your height

But you live in Toronto! Toronto is short, or at least around where I live. It's all asian so I'm taller than most, especially girls, and that's what really matters.

im 5'8. people say it's an average/perfect height, but i don't agree. i still feel short and im too old to grow any taller :/

i feel like i`m tall for an asian, but the people at my school who are white are so fricking tall, like 6'3 or 6'5 or whatever.

but then again, if i was 6'3 or 6'5, that would totally suck, because no guys will ever be as tall as me which makes me hard to get a boyfriend that`s taller than me... which i prefer

Are heels not those shoes that like crush your feet or something? LOL if they are I don't know why a women would wanna go through so much pain, I dunno if it hurts but they look painful. They must have some purpose though. there best feature is not hight its the cool clicking noise they make.. its probably the feet and not the shoe hitting the floor heh.

ok, i've noticed that most ppl who are saying 5'8" isn't short are mostly girls, so i just wanna clarify that:

- yes, if you are a girl and you are 5'8" then you are definitely not short and are probably a little too tall (hehe, im bias since that's my height and with heels girls willl tower over me)

- but if you're a guy, then that's another story...5' 8" isnt short, but its not tall. I think that's about the average height for asian males and a few inches below average for whites and blacks.

anyhoo, im not saying 5' 8" is short, just saying that i wished i was 2 or 3 inches taller. got milk?

we had a 'how tall are you' thread in the past, but i guess it was auto-pruned....

Yeah but 5'8 is kinda short for a guy, for a girl it's more likely to be tall. Being 5'0 and being a girl is probably a better thing. Tall girls scare most guys. We're all insecure about that.

6 ft female and it's not that much fun.

Around 5'6" to 5'7"....

But I wish I was shorter though, because I am even taller than my parents now...and most of my family members, and almost all of my friends...it feels so awkward walking around with them because I feel like a giant.

Looks like so far I'm winning the prize for tallest person here.

i'm 6'5".. really wish i was shorter though, shopping for jeans is a nightmare.

i'm 6'56'' and i feel good cause it's still ''normal'' size in the shops wel... XXXL but i'm skinny so i just feel great

I'm 5'8'' i wish i could be a little shorter, when i would wear heels I'm like 6ft, and its not soo fun. I'm taller than most of the boys i meet

luckily most my friends are shortish so my being 5'2" doesnt seem to bother me. however wen i play sports w/ my 6'8" mate, the bfg does luv to tease us and make us feel like umpa lumpas ^^;

I'm 5'1" - typical tiny asian woman I guess...lol...wish I was taller - all my friends (asian and non-asian) are quite tall and I feel like a dwarf. When I taught grade 5 (10 year olds) a lot of those kids tower over me!

heh, heh. i'm 4' 2", but i carry a very big stick!

just kidding. when i was younger, i was about five-eleven-and-a-half. now, i'm about 5'10" and a half. it's amazing what a huge belly and gravitational pull will do to your height.

About 5'2''. It's pretty small, but I'm quite comfortable with it. Guess I'm good at jumping high...

I watched woman volleyball world championship in Berlin.
The japanese team are not as tall as the other european but they could definitely jump higher that the european.
Really amazing play.

5"8" i'd be so happy to be that tall. At only 5' 3" i'm a shorty here in detroit, Mi where almost everybody is at least 5' 10" - 6'. I just like to say that i'm 5' 5" in hiking boots.

Well it depends, I find in volleyball if you don't have good defense [Recieving] then you can't really have much hitting if they can't get the ball to the setter properly. Then even hieght wouldn't matter too much if your vertical sucks. There was a girl shorter than me on volleyball but she had good vertical so she was up there hitting with us, I miss voleyball, it's always funning hitting quicks fi you have a good setter. Good control of the ball is always a plus and it's about placement. I hate watching, perfer playing.


So who's the tallest female here? It's not as bad when your tall an male as it is to be female and tall. I hate shopping, it's so hard to find styles and the proper fit, especially pants.

5' 11" and a half here wouldn't hurt to be 1 or 2 " taller

I'm 5'7 and am most of the time happy with it. Since I don't date other than CJK girls, I'm at a good height. I feel sorry for Asian chicks who are 6' ft tall.


If I can grow any taller, I would only ask for 2 more inches. Hate being 6+ ft since its more troublesome and shorter than 5ft is also the same.

I'm 5'9" and pretty wide, so I look shorter. My baby brothers are both 5'11" and my dad's 6'1" and they're all too skinny, so I look like a fire hydrant in family pics. Mom's 4'11" though, so I'm ok if I stand next to her!!!

My lady's 5'4" and her family's all in the 4'10" - 5'3" range, so I'm a giant at her place and a dwarf at mine. Go figure. (then again, I'm also about 25lbs heavier than any of them, so I could always beat them up if they tease me...)

I wouldn't mind being about 2" taller. Any more than that and it's a pain in the neck to kiss (literally..)
Besides, my lady prefers wide to tall, so it's all good...

Dated a few girls that were over 6' tall, and the biggest pain was walking around with your arm around her shoulders. How do you ladies manage that without your arm falling asleep?

Ya sometimes it works that way. I am taller than both of my parents. I am 3 inches taller than my dad and almost a foot taller than my mom.

I'm not sure. Last time I checked it might have been 5'9ish. I'm only 14, and alot of people in my family are over 6, even the girls, so its probably not over.

Must be the heels . I don't think of a lot girls as short....until they take off their shoes that is. After they dropped those precious few inches they become tiny and the focus of much ridicule , only in good fun though.

Just as someone else has already mentioned you can use google to convert your height from cm to feet. First go to google and type '185cm to inch' (your height being 185) without the quotation marks and then submit search and at the top of the search results your height in inchs should appear (in your case '185 centimeters = 72.8346457 inch'), and then to convert to feet/inch format work out in your head how many 12s fit into that number. Eg. 72.83/12=6 with a remainder of 0.83 (remainder being the inches), thus you are almost 6"1' tall. I know this is a bad explanation but its all I can do in the short time I have to type this message.

I am 173cm (~5"8') tall and caucasian and while I feel like a giant when in a Shopping Plaza, I will feel like a shrimp when on campus (where there are mostly caucasians and indians) as most other guys are 2+ inches taller than myself. I like my height though and I am not going to grow anymore as I reached full height at age 14-15 (now 19), back when I was in Grade 6 (age 11-12) in Primary School I remember being 145cm (~4"9').

almost 5'6' im so short!!! at least i feels like it when everyone you meet is like a foot taller than you meh !, but i am the tallest girl in my immidiate family
