yr cousin will be safe for a while - i've only recently (well, relatively recently) moved to bristol, so i've no idea where nailsea is, or how to get there.

Well hmm bet she's happy then ...
Nailsea is just about 10 minutes by car north of the airport.

Anyhow... I'll probably have to go there myself first.
Haven't seen her for double digit number of years so she'll be shocked to know I'm even existing. :lol

Stratford-upon-avon is pretty near - Shakespeare country (or the inspiration for Hobbiton, if you're a Tolkien fan!) Nice civilised place - i like it! Been to manchester once, its getting to be a bit rough around the edges, but I guess its the same for all towns and cities these days. And always RAINING - what is with that in manc?!! Its a nice sunny day today, here, which is very welcome!

Nope, not native Brit.

I'm W1 as they say in some lists... "Pale European", still working on the aclimatizing part.
For the most, silently mumbling at the bus drivers who can't find something between stop and full speed. Heaven forbid you'd say something outloud, you'd get sued.

D-addicts is the sanity spot in my daily life in this weird setting.

Another half here too... uk/sg

It's pretty cold in Japan now too. I think it's going to get down to -2 tomorrow, with a maximum of 5 degrees where I am. I'm pretty south, so I'm thinking it's going to be worse further north.

I was switching channels and I came upon BBC Four which was showing a documentary thing called Geisha Girl.. then there was another Japanese documentary about art and an advert about asian cinema with Jonathan Ross... then the lady person who spoke after it all ended said there was a movie on tomorrow called Gohatto.. which I've seen and thought it was odd since the bbc doesn't show recent asian movies (well Gohatto is like 6 years old) and they tend to show the bad dubs but anyyyway

I looked on the net and BBC Four have some sort of asian thing going on they're showing asian movies.. I think it started on monday so we haven't missed much

starting with Japan then China then Korea .. they're showing..

Gohatto
Ping Pong (I was surprised by that one)
Full Time Killer
Spring, Summer, Autumn, Winter.. and Spring
Take Care Of My Cat

Hey good news there Lowest! BBC4 you say? That sounds really interesting to watch IF i had digital!! Damn those impish monkeys at BBC putting all the decent stuff on the channels that I don't have!

Looks like its time for an upgrade!

Did anyone ever see the series Shogun? That was an interesting series that inspired the film The Last Samurai. That showed a bit of the japanese culture in a relatively good light, and wasn't dubbed, so you could pick up quite a lot of simple verbs etc from listening to it.

Yeah, thats the one - 70s drama about 20 episodes. But its the first couple I really liked - when the main actor, an american, gets shipwrecked in japan. It shows him having to pick up japanese language fast to "integrate", so is quite interesting.

Good news for Eurasians

Post by nikoru » Jan 16th, '06, 07:39

I got sum good news for you fellow half asian half caucasian people!
...Scientists now believe that people of mixed race, particularly Eurasians, possess certain genetic advantages that lead to greater health and, as a result, increased attractiveness. In the first study of its kind, Caucasians and Japanese people rated Eurasian faces as more attractive than faces of either race.

Thanks :)
trust nothing you read in the Metro - it's published by the Daily Mail Group, after all. a more credible version of the story, from The Register: here.

quick summary: it was a request for the names and addresses of 150 software uploaders (not leechers/ downloaders) using Kazaa, approx 12 months ago.
