Japanese Series of the Week 11/29/04: Meguri Ai

Post by thetenken » Nov 8th, '04, 15:43

PLEASE READ THIS ENTIRE POST. IF YOU DO NOT, YOU MAY BE LIABLE TO MY EXPRESSIONS OF DISPLEASURE.

06/14/2004: As of this date, the Series of the Week is now officially Japanese series only.

Taking nominations for the next series of the week. Let me know what you want to add to the poll and I'll add it. From this point forward only series that have a volunteer seeder will be put up into the poll. People can nominate whatever they want, but the series won't become a poll option until there is a volunteer seeder...

PLEASE NOMINATE AND VOTE ONLY FOR THE DRAMAS OFF THE COMPLETED DRAMAS LIST:
http://www.d-addicts.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=3500

Last time's runner-ups:

Food Fight - http://jdorama.com/drama_487.htm
Meguri Ai/Refrain - http://jdorama.com/drama.256.htm
Shopping Hero - http://jdorama.com/drama.707.htm

Others:

Previous Series of the Week:

Oyaji
Otousan
Attic Cat
Koi ga Shitai x3 (Where is Love?)
Strawberry on the Shortcake (S.O.S.)
Cheap Love
Big Wing
Hotman
Sutaa no Koi
From the Heart
Love Generation
A Sleeping Forest
Story of One Century
Friends
Younger Men
Merry Christmas in Summer
Shota no Sushi
Koibumi
Waterboys
Aoi Tori

What is a series of the week?
Since there are now a substantial number of torrents on this site, we have implemented a "Series of the Week," where we could dedicate most of the bandwidth to a particular series during that week. This helps in a couple of ways:

1. People will know what series are available and have seeds, rather than just waiting and hoping for them to be seeded at some later date.

2. For those seeders who have DVD burners and have already burnt their collections to DVD/CD, then with the series of the week they know which series can be pulled off of DVD to help seed, minimizing troublesome multiple DVD loading.

3. Constantly re-circulates older torrents back into view, and focuses bandwidth and demand toward those specific torrents, rather than having people request series across the board.

Remember, D-Addicts was started for the community, and being a part of the community means sharing. If you don't share, then everyone loses (refer to JEM's dropping of Cdramas), and a good thing open to all may become a private party.

I take no responsibility for deleting poll entries if there are no seeds. No complaints, as this is a community effort. If the community doesn't want to share, then you're SOL.

As I said last poll, I will voluntere to seed "Konna Koi No Hanashi" but I don't have the ep's 1 and 2 as seeded from here. If someone else can do those two then I'd nominate it.

Let's see if neon or ap perhaps could gimmie a hand on that :)

Another question.
Will you stick with the three on the list this time or add to it?
I suggest stick to the ones on the starting line in all fairness.
Then add my nomination for the next poll.

I usually add new series that people nominate and can seed when the request is made. But if you don't want it on the poll until next time, that's cool with me, too.

I was just thinking of the voting becoming disturbed if all options are not in form the start.
Since some may want to see two shows win and the second one the wanted comes in later in the same poll, they may already have voted for the first one.
Thus loosing the ability to vote fairly on the one they wanted as second choice.

I'd say hold off on the posting of it's nomination till next round then, and if you can seed 1 and 2 I'll seed the rest as well. :)

Well, I can help when/if it happens....obviously I have it all :lol I'd just have to be reminded because I don't check this section very often :lol But maybe it should wait at least until next time. I only recently uploaded the finale, usually it's better to have a series for SOTW after it has aged a little and more of a demand has grown again. But anyway, it's up to you guys...I'm not really going anywhere :roll

Unfortunately, fireboys didn't have English subs.

Where there more than one year of this one?
If AP or someone else could confirm if it's the same, I might have the whole
season from the n-groups's and it might be the same cap as from here.
It was posted there as "Black Jack ni Yurushiku"

No no. Nothing like that. Sorry for my bad English. This was posted here about 1 year ago. Then the seeds started to naturely dissapper and I was waiting for some seeds to finish episode 6. Somebody has seeded that during last summer but I wasn't able to download it since I was in Japan last summer without PC/Internet. That's all :D

It's not a site. It's a protocol just like SMTP HTTP and so on but called NNTP
check this link out... http://www.d-addicts.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=7408

Also, Black Jack Ni Yorushiku was posted more than
60 days ago and retention is not that long up there.
Try posting a re-seed request in the proper thread. :)
I hope some kind soul has it as mine doesn't work here.

I would suggest Itazura na Kiss, which is complete but not listed on Complete Drama Series List. I'm dying to watch it, but we would need seeders... anyone wanna help? :D
Wish I could see Itazura na Kiss as Series of the Week... people who have already watched it tell it's a funny series :P . (Actually, wanna watch it because of Takashi Kashiwabara  ... never saw him at a drama series... yet!)

i watched food fight, i didnt really like it..because im not a fan of a "different story in each episode" dramas! i like stories that is consistant, meaningful and deep rather than short stories (if you miss an episode it doesnt matter, coz its not related to the previous or next episode)
oh well, sometimes it ok though. (hey this is just my opinion, but i still like Kusanagi Tsuyoshi)

anyway, i voted for Meguri Ai <<<<<i've been voting for this drama everytime, hope it'll win this time!

nominate Bus Stop?

Post by yuubou » Nov 23rd, '04, 16:00

I was looking around, and I'm not sure where you nominate, but I think if we could nominate Bus Stop to try for next week or something that would be good. I watched the first 3 of the j-tv ones thinking I could get them all, got hooked, and then realized the SQ ones are almost never seeded :glare: . But right now a bunch of people are trying to download them although there is no seeds, so we may as well make it a series of the week.

Also, its really addicting. DId I mention that? 8)

At first i wasn't sure which to vote but now it sounds like Meguri ai is a good series. I too want a series that is consistent to the end. W/ that I esp. hate fillers!!! Why not not show that esp and save us all the time... That's what i think!

I vote for MEGURI AI. Luv Takako from Beautiful Life. That was the first J-drama I have ever seen and got me hooked onto dramas ever since. Hope I see more of her superb acting skills. Uhhh that drama made me cry. It was so sad.

Short answer...whenever I decide. =)

I gave an extra week to Aoi Tori because the files are 700MB each. Usually they come out every two weeks or so.
