What is the Japanese Series of the Week (SoTW)? More Info Here
Due to the substantial number of torrents on this site, we implemented a "Series of the Week," where we could dedicate bandwidth and seeding efforts to a specific series. This helps in several ways:
1. People will know which series was voted and will be seeded, rather than just waiting and hoping for them to be seeded at some later date.
2. For those seeders who have DVD burners and have already burnt their collections to DVD/CD, the series of the week gives them an opportunity to dust off those archives and help seed their favorites.
3. Constantly re-circulates older torrents back into view, and focuses bandwidth and demand toward specific torrents, rather than having people request series across the board.
Remember, D-Addicts was started for the community, and being a part of the community means sharing. If you don't share, then everyone loses (refer to JEM's dropping of cdramas). Bittorrent and DA works much better if you share as others have shared with you.

======================================================================

If you are willing to seed any of the series in the poll, please post a reply here or in the JSoTW: Looking For Volunteer Seeders thread or PM anyone of the mods or admins. There are still several series which do not have volunteer seeders, so any help would be greatly appreciated! The more seeders we have, the more variety we will have in future JSoTW polls!

Reminder: You must have at least 10 posts to vote. Don't start spamming the forum, but this encourages you to get involved in some of those drama discussions!

mizune, your link for food fight is broken. it looks like you mistakenly put an 'i' on the end cuz it comes up food fighti

hmm the Kusanagi drama seems rather timely, lol. Hana & Erai almost seem like the same drama. I'm torn between the 3 of them. I'll go for Erai..wow this was hard.

For the Kusanagi fans (whom I am sure help me seed daily), I choose Food Fight. Just saw him the first time on this weeks SoTH, but want to support forgiveness (in my D-addict kind-of-way)

What a weird and wacky list of dorama! Out of these I have only seen 100% of the dreaded Yakudoshi (I have one of those years coming, I think, ugh), this is a decent story though. Hope Shinohara-san returns to acting, when her baby son is a little older. :salut:

edit: Married to Hell won? Wow! Hey wait were these all mother-in-law comedies? It's nice to see Yukie so often again, since just finished up Arifureta Kiseki. Not seen Married to Hell yet, somehow.
Weird how it works - you get an Abe Hiroshi overdose, or Takky, UetoAya or Juri-chan - looks like it's Yukie-sama right now, no complaints here.
Anyone else up for a Gokusen/Trick marathon? XD

how come the link to the food fight torrents on the JEM tracker is missing ep 6?

I found ep6 via the torrent search on the main d-addicts page, but nobody's seeding :(

From the SFV file:
; Name: Food Fight
; Type: Japanese Drama
; Language: Japanese
; Subtitle: English
; Source: TV-Rip @ Singapore
; Quality: Moderate-High
;
; Note:
; The drama is in [dual sound] mode, i.e. left=Mandarin, right=Japanese.
; The recording of this drama is set to [Language B], or right channel
; (Japanese only). There may be some cross-over of mandarin.
;
; Ep 6 has got some audio issues and it may sound funny and conclusion
; is to totally remove the audio part. Each ep is seemingly independent
; of the other so if you hate no-audio videos, you may skip this Ep totally.
; Apologies is in order if this upsets you.
;
; Ep 8 was accidentally recorded in mpeg1 (vcd bitrate), thus the quality
; is not very good. The record button and record-to-vcd-format button are
; just too close. Sigh. bad design of WinTV application.

Cool, thanks for the info saigo! I didn't see any sfv file in the torrents, but glad to know the explanation for the missing ep, and to find out that it's not key to the plot of the drama.

I just watched Hanayome and tried to watch Erai. As much as I like Nakama Yukie, I couldn't get through. Just boring and formulaic, and Yukie could not save it.

Hanayome turned out to be pretty enjoyable.

Perhaps Mizune is tired of performing this service for the jdorama community and would like to find a good replacement.

Please tell us how you feel, Mizune. I'm sure that there are other members willing to take this task on, with a little guidance from you. I hope you'll consider this option.

After faithfully downloading the SoTW for the past year I finally registered so I could post a big thank you for this wonderful service. Please keep it up! お願いします! Watching jDramas is my reward for all the hard work I am putting in learning Japanese.

Btw I have watched both Hanayome wa Yakudoshi and Erai Tokoro de Totsuide Shimatta! and while both were good I defintely preferred Hanayome wa Yakudoshi.

Sorry for not updating in awhile....
I didn't think I would be away quite this long and the time has just completely gotten away from me, and I will probably not have much time (if any) to come by for at least another month.... :/

The Japanese Series of the Week won't go away, but I do need to find some ppl willing to keep it going in my absence. I think jholic had some ppl in mind to take it over, but he is currently missing as well, so...

If anybody is interested in helping out, just PM me. I'll catch up with those interested over the weekend when I get back home and we will figure something out.

At this point, I could use a 1-2 helpers in 2 arenas:
1. Setting up the weekly polls
2. Updating the list of eligible series

Thanks and sorry again for being so flaky...

First, thank you for JSoTW ! It's a great idea.
I wish i could help somehow, but i have neither time on my schedule nor the knowledge to do what you do, Mizune ! So i guess we all understand this break and we hope you can find some help to keep up the good work.

If the poll is still standing, i vote for Erai Tokoro de Totsuide Shimatta!

Okay, a new poll has been posted.
I will tweak the torrent page somehow to alert ppl to the fact that the JSOTW has been resurrected.
So until the next poll finishes in a week, please just sit tight folks....

Thanks!
