What is the Japanese Series of the Week (SoTW)? More Info Here
Due to the substantial number of torrents on this site, we implemented a "Series of the Week," where we could dedicate bandwidth and seeding efforts to a specific series. This helps in several ways:
1. People will know which series was voted and will be seeded, rather than just waiting and hoping for them to be seeded at some later date.
2. For those seeders who have DVD burners and have already burnt their collections to DVD/CD, the series of the week gives them an opportunity to dust off those archives and help seed their favorites.
3. Constantly re-circulates older torrents back into view, and focuses bandwidth and demand toward specific torrents, rather than having people request series across the board.
Remember, D-Addicts was started for the community, and being a part of the community means sharing. If you don't share, then everyone loses (refer to JEM's dropping of cdramas). Bittorrent and DA works much better if you share as others have shared with you.

======================================================================

If you are willing to seed any of the series in the poll, please post a reply here or in the JSoTW: Looking For Volunteer Seeders thread or PM anyone of the mods or admins. There are still several series which do not have volunteer seeders, so any help would be greatly appreciated! The more seeders we have, the more variety we will have in future JSoTW polls!

Reminder: You must have at least 10 posts to vote. Don't start spamming the forum, but this encourages you to get involved in some of those drama discussions!

Drama Wiki doesn't have a synopsis of what Kawa, Itsuka Umi e is about. Where else can we look? Anyway, I'll vote when I find out more .

It was posted in another thread a few weeks back. I'll have it added to the DramaWiki.

Just a suggestion...

There r a lot of sub work which take a lot of time to finish. There r those which I think had been abandon, while others, like My Boss My Hero by Nya & Hakusen Nagashi by TNF, r done in slow pace due to quality purposes. Certain drama r being abandon, or drop in the packing order of the fansubber due to the fact there aren't much ppl hoping to watch the drama or becoz of other reasons too. My suggestion is, if we could group a few '1st episodes' of these dramas for ppl to download, they might be continued. Continued bcoz a lot of new fans of the drama emerge & praise the hardwork of these fansubs, or continued by others who want these fans to see the ending of the drama.

Brillent idea UBE :salut:

Mind you the people that do the subbing (I bow down to you all) probley only have a limited amount of time to do the subbing so I think that they must try a pick the ones that they think will be popular?

Any way just like to say thanks to you all. Arigato

Sounds interesting. I'll see what I can do.

Oishii Puropozu is my choice in this poll.

I saw Katagoshi no Koibito and I really liked it! I know a lot of people did not but I assume that it was because it was really geared toward people 30+.

As for the subbers, I really appreciate it when they do projects that are not as popular. It opens up new dramas that may not be appreciated due to the language barrier. I know they are doing this in their spare time and it can be difficult to stick to something that not a lot of people may appreciate immediately.

But over time it is really worth it IMO because as time goes by a lot of other people will stumble across it and say "Hey this looks interesting!" and watch it. And it will all be thanks to their hard work! :D

Hey everyone
I would like to say I don't really see the point of nominating (and worst, choose) such RECENT dramas as drama of the week, like Katagoshi no koibi or Oishii puropozu, which I loved but were airing very recently, so must have been watched recently by most addicts.
I wish the drama of the week would remain an opportunity for all to have access to some older dramas...there are sooo many that look excviting but that we cannot download for lack of seeds, so please-yoroshiku ne ! :salut:

I think the current rules for sotw are fine.

It would be wrong to discriminate against newcomers to drama.

Older dramas will make their way to JSoTW soon enough. I'm trying to make sure I've gotten all listed dramas that haven't won before. Once that's done, I'll be targeting older dramas again.
