About Voting for Series of the Week and Month

Post by Ruroshin » Jun 30th, '04, 10:39

In order to vote in this forum you must have at least 10 posts. 10 post is not hard to get, register up and say a few thank you to the people who upload for you, say hi to the natives (don't feed the krys though, it may bite, management takes no responsibility for this) and join in some discussions or even talk about the voting.

This Krys thingie sounds really dangerous, I hope that no one will feed it so that it may die of hunger. :x :P
Even though that may be a bit cruel  , I think it's for the best for the future of this forum. :) :D

it's kinda like a secret character in a video game:
- you wanna find it so you can squash it
- you get a buku-million points if you can kill it
- it doesn't come out unless you make certain moves (posts)
- the more you play (post), the more likely you'll find it

Hmmmm wonder if the nomination couldn't be automated.

Post by techie » Oct 27th, '04, 22:37

Just add another table and a date stamp for the doramas nomimasu.. eeeh moniga... gggaaah.. nominated.

Having serious typograstutters today.

Anyway.. if it's here, I'll through out the idea on "Konna koi no hanashi" as soon as it possibly could be considered for nomination.

Yes, you have it. :D Once you first go into the new the series of the week/month thread, you will have have the chance to vote. You only get one vote. You have to be logged in to vote.

If you didn't log in before you go into the thread, you will see the poll results so far. You still have a chance to vote once you log in.

Welcome!

juss wonderin, are non-english subbed raws eligible for the series of the week?? although it is an english-based community, i believe there are some who would want RAWs because they are either Japanese speakers, they are better quality, or they are of a smaller file size compared to hard-subbed files. well?

keisuke: Even if they were eligible, given the number of people voting, I doubt that you'd be able to find enough people who either knew Japanese fluently or were so crazy about a new popular drama that they would want to watch the series without subs. (sometimes I feel like that.. ^__^)

keisuke: although i agree w/ Carn, you are always welcome to nominate a raw for series of the week. if there are enough nominations, it can become eligible for sotw.

I'm just wondering about the series of the week...

For example the newest series of the week poll, 4/17/05...

Does that mean that the new series will start seeding at 4/17? Or does it depend... because last time I checked here it was down.

The series of the week poll 4/17/05 ends on 4/17/05... which is today.
The seeding should start after that. Because we all live in different time zones and the seeders may have a live besides seeding dramas it can happen that the seeding starts a few hours later than expected for some. You can probably start downloading on the 18th.

Just curious...How are the choices for the poll decided upon? Is it based on the member's suggestions or just randomly anything that has english subtitle and also universally thought to be good?

It is pretty useless to nominate anything that cannot be seeded. :lol

The organizers choose some drama candidates with enough seeders and you can vote among those. This means only (popular) dramas which are already available on the tracker have a chance.

In the voting thread usually someone else will nominate a series for the next poll. If, and only if, people volunteer to seed it will it go into the running. If a series gets in and doesn't win the poll, it usually carries over to the next poll. Only completed English subbed series that have volunteer seeds and have not won before will have a chance. The series are usually completed for a bit before it'll happen, usually after seeding dies I guess. :P

In regards to KSOTM, yes you can nominate if you don't have enough posts; however, nominations in the wrong threads won't be considered; and nominations aren't guarenteed a spot on the poll. The only time nominations for KSOTM are considered are during polls for the next months KSOTM. So for Aug., nominations can be made in July's KSOTM voting thread. Thanks.

For CSoTM, nominations can be made in either the current CSoTM thread (ie the winner for that month) or in the poll thread for next month's CSoTM.
Only series that are COMPLETED with ENGLISH subs and have AT LEAST 3 declared volunteer seeders will be considered for nomination into the following poll.
We need at least 3 seeders due to most Chinese series being rather long-winded :P
Even if a volunteer seeder has an incomplete set, we still want you
CSoTM seeders are allocated certain episodes.. helps to spread the seeding load..
If a series is nominated and did not make the poll, it either does not have enough seeders that month, or it was the least popular choice in the previous month's poll, so it was dropped, to give another series a chance..

Hope this clears things up for you.

Cheers
:)

The point is not to spam the boards with 4 messages of "hi" in order to vote for the series that you want. The point is to post something of substance, to contribute to the forums. By posting repetitive messages of "hi," all you're doing is cluttering the forum and making our lives harder by having to clean up after you.

The easiest way to get a lot of post is to thank the uploaders for any drama you download from here.

I'd rather see you pointing the users to the entertainment/discussion sections or the support section were the "useful" talking is happening. There are so many topics. Everybody should find a place to contribute.
IMHO, we dont need another 1000 thanks every day. XD

From SOTW/SOTM - What is it? How does it work?

Who can vote?
You need to be a member of the D-Addicts' forum, and have at least 10 posts. (Please do not spam the board just to reach 10 posts.)

hkdrama, twdrama and sgdrama fall all into the cdrama category somehow. Otherwise we would not have enough dramas here on the tracker to chose from.

Poll cheating = Ban

Rally up some support for your favorite series in other threads or something, but please don't cheat. :(

CSoTM includes all Chinese, meaning, all mainland, HK, Singaporean, and Taiwanese. We have had twdramas win CSoTM before....I believe one was Lavender.

The poll will automatically be visible (i.e. you can make your selection) after you have 10 posts (before then you will only see the results).

Cannot remember whether I have posted 10 replies but if I had, can I vote for the series "Wonderful Life". Thanks.
