Series of the Week - 04/26/04 = Oyaji

Post by thetenken » Apr 14th, '04, 21:27

Alright, taking nominations for the next series of the week. Let me know what you want to add to the poll and I'll add it.

Last time's runner-ups:

Oyaji - http://www.jdorama.com/drama_496.htm
Shopping Hero - http://jdorama.com/drama_707.htm

Just completed:
Younger Men - http://www.jdorama.com/viewtopic_3702.htm and http://www.kikutv.com/shows/younger_men/index.html
Sutaa no Koi - A Star's Love - http://jdorama.com/drama_583.htm

Others:

---

What is a series of the week?
Since there are now a substantial number of torrents on this site, we have implemented a "Series of the Week," where we could dedicate most of the bandwidth to a particular series during that week. This helps in a couple of ways:

1. People will know what series is available and have seeds, rather than just waiting and hoping.

2. For those seeders who have DVD burners and have already burnt their collections to DVD/CD, then with the series of the week you know which series you can pull off of DVD to help seed, minimizing troublesome multiple DVD loading.

3. Constantly re-circulates older torrents back into view, and focuses bandwidth and demand toward those specific torrents, rather than having people request series across the board.

We will be taking votes as to what the next Series of the Week will be. Please only vote on completed series, and not incomplete series, movies, songs, etc. This is primarily for Japanese drama series. Those who propose other types of series should find seeds on their own who will offer to seed for that week.

Remember, D-Addicts was started for the community, and being a part of the community means sharing. If you don't share, then everyone loses (refer to JEM's dropping of Cdramas), and a good thing open to all may become a private party.

Younger Men is terrific. Definitely worth seeing. Izumi Inamori is good, but the character who plays her mother is a real trip. A fifty-one year-old woman seething with passion. Go with Younger Men.

For the next SOTW, I can help with Star no Koi. I know it's not on the current list, but it's a completed drama right? I wonder if there's any interest in that series at all...

well... a star's love sounds much more interesting than the other three, but having been put up after 42 people already voted, i'm hoping it'll win the week after next :p

Younger Men is the only one I've seen of this week's options, and I definitely liked it, but I'm not sure everyone would. I'd describe it as quite somber. It's a serious drama without a lick of comedic relief.

This week, I voted of Oyagi, though I'm really curious to see Shopping Hero. And I guess Love Complex... well, didn't have a seeder, though it looks like it may have won the SOTW at some point during the difficulties of the last few weeks.

So happy d-addicts is back!

after watching star no koi, I haven't been able to eat a ham sandwich in weeks!!! (you'll know what I mean later) Cute series, cute girl. I'd go for Younger Men or Shopping Hero myself.

Heh, you are allowed to nominate all completed series that haven't already been a series of the week recently. Your own fault! =)

Booo! I know absolutely zero about Japanese Drama, so how am I supposed nominate one. I look at the information you guys put up about them and I choose. I just can't pull one out my ass now. =P

It's okay. I can wait a week. I will lobby everyone to vote for A Star's Love then.

Shiroikage

Post by dorakura » Apr 20th, '04, 12:12

How about Shiroikage?
There's been a lot of seeding requests for the series lately.
It's supposed to be really good!

Shiroikage doesn't have English subs, only Chinese.

Just a question... How come that it's only Japanese drama that is available for the vote?

Younger Men

Post by Bodhi » Apr 23rd, '04, 16:53

I vote for Younger Men, I loved Inamori Izumi in Pretty Girls the first and only Japanese drama I ever saw.

Thanks to all who posted SOS I downloaded that and I really love  that even though I'm just up to episode 7.

oyaji episodes

Post by ssaturn3689 » Apr 25th, '04, 04:36

hi everyone :)

I have been looking @ the SOTW almost ritually for the past week in the hopes that Oyaji will become the winner -- i hope that it is (those last minute votes are the crucial one ne?? ;) ) anywho...some of the torrent files for the series were taken out, I might be mistaken, but will thetenken upload the other torrent files for the series? I had tried to upload an episode of Oyaji so that I can help seed before any mention of SOTW, but it took out all of my torrent files in my client (weird) ... can someone tell me how to upload and make sure that it never happens again? Thank you
Have a great one ^.^

hmm...i guess i just regularly choose the losers in these polls. my choices for the KSOTM and the SOTW are both losing. ah well, there's always next month/week. :lol

btw, the link on the main torrent page that says "vote for the next series of the week" (or something to that effect...) doesn't take you to this poll. i actually found this poll while doing a search for something else. :) maybe you can change that so people will be able to find it.
