Japanese SoTW Poll (02/05/06) - News no Onna

Post by Jannah » Jan 24th, '06, 01:08

Hi everyone! Sorry for the delay in putting up this poll. The Geinou team has been busy. :)

As usual, if you're willing to seed any of the series in the poll, please post a reply here or in the JSOTW: Looking for volunteer seeders thread or PM any one of the Geinou. There are still several series which don't have any volunteer seeders, so do volunteer for those! The more seeders we have, the more variety there will be in the future JSoTW polls.

A million thanks goes out to those seeding the current JSoTW (Nanisama). Thank you for your support! :salut:

In the now immortal words of thetenken........

PLEASE READ THIS ENTIRE POST. IF YOU DO NOT, YOU MAY BE LIABLE TO THETENKEN'S EXPRESSIONS OF DISPLEASURE.

Taking nominations for the next series of the week. Let me know what you want to add to the poll and I'll add it. From this point forward only series that have a volunteer seeder will be put up into the poll. People can nominate whatever they want, but the series won't become a poll option until there is a volunteer seeder...

PLEASE NOMINATE AND VOTE ONLY FOR THE DRAMAS OFF THE COMPLETED DRAMAS LIST:
http://www.d-addicts.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=3500
(06/14/2004: As of this date, the Series of the Week is now officially only Japanese dramas with English subtitles.)

The nominees are:

Yanpapa - info, torrent
Moto Kare - info, torrent
Yasashii Jikan - info, torrent
News no Onna - info, torrent

Previous Japanese Series of the Week:
Oyaji, Otousan, Koi ga Shitai x3 (Where is Love?), Strawberry on the Shortcake (S.O.S.), Cheap Love, Big Wing, Hotman, Sutaa no Koi, From the Heart, Love Generation, A Sleeping Forest, Story of One Century, Friends, Younger Men, Merry Christmas in Summer, Shota no Sushi, Koibumi/Love Letter, Waterboys, Aoi Tori (Bluebird), Meguri Ai, Konna Koi no Hanashi, One Million Stars Falling From the Sky, News no Onna, Mukodono/My Husband, Food Fight, Heaven's Coins/Hoshi no Kinka, Forbidden Love, My Little Chef, With Love, Shopping Hero, Stand Up!!, 101st Marriage Proposal, Seija no Koushin, Maria/Mariya, Asunaro Hakusho, Summer Snow, Pretty Girls, Trick 1/2/3 (JSoTM), Itsumo Futari De, Tokyo Wankei, Denchi ga kireru made, Koi ga shitai (DVD), Wedding Planner, Suekko chonan ane sannin, Koi wo nan nen sundemasu ka/Dreams of Romance, Beach Boys, Keizoku, Nanisama

What is a series of the week? More Info Here
Since there are now a substantial number of torrents on this site, we have implemented a "Series of the Week," where we could dedicate most of the bandwidth to a particular series during that week. This helps in a couple of ways:

1. People will know what series are available and have seeds, rather than just waiting and hoping for them to be seeded at some later date.

2. For those seeders who have DVD burners and have already burnt their collections to DVD/CD, then with the series of the week they know which series can be pulled off of DVD to help seed, minimizing troublesome multiple DVD loading.

3. Constantly re-circulates older torrents back into view, and focuses bandwidth and demand toward those specific torrents, rather than having people request series across the board.

Remember, D-Addicts was started for the community, and being a part of the community means sharing. If you don't share, then everyone loses (refer to JEM's dropping of Cdramas), and a good thing open to all may become a private party.

We take no responsibility for deleting poll entries if there are no seeds. No complaints, as this is a community effort. If the community doesn't want to share, then oh well...

Reminder: You must have at least 10 posts to vote. Go on, kiddies... explore the forum a bit... :)

Yes, nominations are welcome. Read the first post.

Moto Kare is pretty well-seeded right now. If it doesn't win again, I'll take it off the next poll.

When I'm typing this I'm still debating wheter to vote for Noews no Onna or Yasashii Jikan . They both seem to have interesting storyline and I haven't watched any of them s o it was very hard to come to a final decision. Both of them are also tied when I posting this so it's even harder to decide which drama will get my vote but I finally come to decision: I'll vote for...Yasashii Jikan !! Everyone please vote for Yasashii Jikan

I also want to nominate Slow Dance for the next JSOTW. :-)

I see that I will have to do some campaigning for News no Onna. :)

According to website, every single eps of Yasashii Jikan is being seeded right now (by at least 3 seeders each), whereas only 2 out of 11 eps of News no Onna are being seeded (and only by 1 seeder each). Please go download the former right now and vote for the latter. Why settle for one when you can have both? :whistling:

I voted for News no Onna. Not because I am going to watch it, I already have (the last time it was nominated). The other series are either well seeded or are a batch file that have 2 - 5 seeds. Why their are not more batch files on this site I don't know. News no Onna is a good series and I reccommend people who haven't seen it see it. So vote for it because you don't want to try and go to the seed and upload request section for it and ask for a seed for each of the 11 episodes.

Is this becoming a popularity poll ???
I thought the original intent was a poll to select which drama the members want to have seeded again?
http://www.d-addicts.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=5810

Yasashii Jikan and Moto Kare have both been seeded very well during the past few weeks. For those of you that want to see Yasashii Jikan (which is very good), it is available right now in its entirety with several seeders.
http://www.d-addicts.com/forum/torrents ... +all&sort=

Oh well, if we are lucky "News no Onna" will win.

My vote goes for News no Onna because that's the one that's not being seeded. Yasashii Jikan is currently being VSS(I can help seed off and on if it wins the SOTW but my dsl upload speed really sucks) and Moto Kare and Yanpapa also have a few seeds. I don't mind which one wins since I only just finished download Yasashii Jikan and don't have any of the others either.

I'm still hoping Chakushin Ari will make it into the poll for a future SOTW soon. I nominated it one of these weeks and gryzze (I believe) offered to seed, but I'm not sure how many seeds are needed for series to make it on the polls

Being VSSed doesn't automatically disqualify it from the poll. People can still vote for it if they wish.

One volunteer seeder is usually enough for it to make it into a JSoTW poll. But of course, the more the merrier! And don't worry, Chakushin Ari is one of the series I'm keeping in mind for the next poll. :)

The VSS list is the auto scroll info in the blue bar near the top of the Torrent page (just below the Series of the Week/Month info). The page for VSS info is at:

Speaker: Great comment. I too became enamoured with J-Dramas that are based in rural Japan after watching Sekachu.
By the way, Yasashii Jikan torrents are already available by volunteer seeders (thanks all).
Can anyone else recommend any other great dramas with a rural setting?

if you want a drama with a rural setting, try Aoi Tori (L'oiseau Bleu), that's really good.

wooo .. what a tie ...

News no Onna: 75
Yasashii Jikan: 75

& only one day left till the end of the poll.

I wish News no Onna can win. Yasashii Jikan has few seeders already. But I reckon it's not that much and voters can choose whatever please them the most ...

ROOTING FOR New no Onna !!!! Yush !!!

Thanks alexsensei ! Aoi Tori looks really good, and there is an active torrent.

And for those of you still interested in Yasashii Jikan, the torrents are still strong and active. It will only take one day to download the entire series. Good luck.

Well, the race looks close between Yasahii Jikan and News no Onna, with the latter winning by a mere 4 votes :P . Anyways, this JSOTW winner is News no Onna. Could the volunteer seeders start seeding? Thank you kindly to all the seeders and the participants.

We're looking for a 150x150 image for News No Onna, so if anyone has a pic for this series, it'd be much appreciated :-)
Join the VSS. Always on the lookout for good seeders.

Yea, there is a drama god after all.

On the other hand, one could say that Yasahii Jikan won as well, since Laure_Choc has been VSS'ing it for a while now, so we do get the best of both dramas (apologies to STTNG fans).
