It's not really neccessary to assume that if the woman pulls the "if you love me..." card that she's automatically going into a win/lose mindset. Though that may be how you'd see it, she may very well feel whatever way she's feeling, not looking at a scorecard Yeah, that's true too. Usually in that...

Mmm.... All that talk of fight mode, winning the discussion, fight her on this.... really puts way too much of an adversarial spin on the whole thing. Valcun, Hmm, kinda sounds like your feelings for Aya were actually strongest when she was with the fan boy, and that you were most self-conscious of her effect on you when you couldn't keep up with the other girl. I guess I get this vibe that you were attracted to her because she was "challenging"; ...

omg never thought that american movie would be in your top favorites..?!?! Yeah, I think both Before Sunrise / Sunset generate a polarizing response with audiences. I liked talky movies (a la My Dinner With Andre), and I'm Generation X. Before Sunrise was made for people like me. Somebody mentioned...

Before Sunrise / Before Sunset If you love New Wave-ish comedies where people talk their brains out (I do), you'll love this series. Moulin Rouge The manic "cocaineness" of his style either makes you retch or puts you in fever dream. I'm mostly in the latter; I loved Strictly Ballroom but felt that...

Typical conversation between me and a friend Friend: "What are you watching?" Me: "Telenovela." Friend: "What is it?" Me: "How the hell should I know?" Friend: "Oh. Breasts?" Me: "Gran." Well, I AM a guy, ;) But, seriously, the only soap I watch religiously is the OC. It's cheese at its finest. :D

@Harmonycloud: There will be only 9 episodes. Episode 8 airs this Friday. About Akira: To me Akira seems like a vampire!!!!!! And what terrible wrinkles he´s got!!!!! When he laughs, he seems to be a 45 years-old vampire! When he´s not laughing, he´s quite cute though. Seriously folks, Akira just lo...

i feel kinda weird imagining dat if i knew dat if a guy is courting me w/ a program like an encoded computer i would definitely think he's not a trustworthy person or somting Oh, I agree. In the real world, I would never talk about this openly with either gender, because people would assume I pract...

Really, Americans are just much more obsessed about a straight row of teeth than almost every other country on earth. Teeth care is just something that is drilled into our heads ever since we learn the word "cavity." I'm ambivalent about braces, myself. I had them and am glad I had them. Still not c...

Honestly, America is just REALLY peculiar at dental hygeine. If you did a poll between not taking a shower for a week, or not brushing a week (ew!), most Yanks would rather skip the soap.

It's a circular argument, really. Say you're an otaku whose interests consist solely of video games, hentai, and twinkies. Good luck, mate. Then again, say you are all those things, but are also funny as hell, can do a spot-on impression of Borat, and can make your priest pee in his pants. Well, it'...

Ironically, few people have talked about the other major racial issue of the film. From the reviews I've read, the Memoirs of a Geisha movie dangerously veers toward the "orientalization"/white-male-fetishism of a so-called exotic Asian femininty. For what it's worth, I've always found the Western f...

For certain kinds of skin, smoking can cause some mild irritation. A mate of mine had fairly good skin until he picked up his drinking and smoking. Then again, I live in Southern California, and we think smoking is the cause of cooties too. ;)

But, as you said, it could be the makeup.

Did you watch Gokusen? If so, compare his skin from back then to now. Apart from the hairstyle it's probably the greatest difference. I don't really like Shizuka's and Akira's skins either. My hunch is that Jun's smoking a lot. It's unusual for skin to get worse into your 20s unless you've picked u...

Well, about 80% just comes from NLP. I don't claim special knowledge at all; most with basic exposure to NLP will understand what I'm talking about. Some of the things Valcun talks (i.e. pivots, talking about women's emotions) made me think that he's at least been around that particular subculture t...

Then I also wanna touch Shouta's and Mao-chan's face as I can't believe what a beautiful skin they have. I never had skin problems either but they just look TOO perfect. (If anyone can't tell, I'm just kidding.) But, seriously, I couldn't believe that anybody could have blemish-free skin like that....

@Valcun, I should re-iterate that I'm not a player at all, or anything like that. I'm in my late 20s, and so obviously I'm speaking a lot from experience with friendships and relationships. The "eye contact" and "listening" stuff is more or less "common sense", but it may not be something that most ...
