This drama reminds me abit of Asunaro Hakusho (this old oldddd drama from the early 90's that had Kimura Takuya in a *gasp* supporting character role). Everyone (including guy friends) is in love with the main guy ^^; And it's even more strange considering, I don't see what's so great about him? Yes...

I really enjoyed the first episode of this series. I've always found it confusing why (attractive)women need to go to places like host bars. I saw two documentaries about these places and its strange how most of the women that patronize these places seems so attractive. Anyway the three top female ...

I actually didn't mind Kitagawa Yujin's oversmiling--- if he's calculating this, though. His character does experience hardships (mainly through his girlfriend being in a coma?), and the oversmiling emphasizes how he's forcing himself to put up a brave front, as if everything's okay. I admit though,...

About Sousuke, I don' t think he's going to be dying in the next episode (maybe later on, you never know, but not in the next one). His objective for threatening suicide is to get Michiru back, so if he actually DIES then there's really no point in his action. He probably will attempt it, but leave ...

Here are some of the dramas that I recommend: Sora Kara Furu Ichioku no Hoshi - this series completely swiped up the season's drama awards, and it's easy to see why. It's a talented-cast ensemble with Kimura Takuya, Fukatsu Eri, Akashiya Sanma, and Shibasaki Kou. The soundtrack is amazing, the actin...

This is a tough one...but one drama I think that should be dramatized (and wouldn't be too hard to make into reality either) is Parfait Tic . As for the cast... Canadian customs are...to say the least, TERRIBLE. I've been disappointed with the J-dorama lineup for the last several YEARS, not just the current. They were releasing so many well-written, well-casted dramas in the mid 90's so I don't know why they went downhill since then. I've watched all of the first episodes of the dramas released this season,...

The SP was a huge disappointment for me. I really liked the childhood scenes, the two child actors I think did an amazing job, and the backdrop was beautiful (loved the scenes where they're walking through the tall-grass). From reading the forums and looking at the post numbers, it seems to me (although I may be wrong) that Jdrama are more popular than kdrama. Is this true? And if so, why do you think this is the case? More specifically, which do you favor more in general? Until very recently I favored jdrama more th...

I've read the book in Japanese. Alot of her original entries were cut out (since it was mentioned in the beginning that from the age of 15-20 she wrote 46 notebooks worth of entries whereas this book had only 230 pages). I really liked Sakai Masato in Dr Koto 2006 so it was one of the reasons why I started watching this series. As someone pointed out before, alot of K-dramas seem to have an ongoing theme (girl and guy get together, torn apart for some reason, are reunited years later, and other un-related chaos starts occurring for no apparent reason). I think most Japanese actors/actresses wouldn't be able to make it through hollywood, just because the style of acting is so different. If you checked the official Ainori site, or watched until the very end of the last Ainori episode, you'd know that there won't be a new episode until October 16. They do this a couple of times every year, taking a few weeks off before coming back with a new batch.

I think it could work if they used someone who was a half or a non-Japanese person who grew up in Japan. That'd take care of the worries about them talking in stilted Japanese. Oguri Shun by far. Although I don't like his acting in HYD, it was probably as much the director's fault as his because he just doesn't fit Hanazawa Rui. I'm liking it less and less as the more episodes I watch.
