Subs up all over the net. torrrent sites, etc. A bit incomplete (bad punctuation, etc.) and somewhat out of sync but still makes the film watchable.

Just a heads up (until better subs come out probably in a week or so)...

Still can't find this and I've looked everywhere. Hard to believe no one "borrowed" a copy from the airline and upped it. Fansubs possible after the June 24th release in Japan on DVD and Blu-ray...

[Movie Discussion] Space Battleship Yamato

This is apparently showing on Cathay Pacific flights. Does anyone have a copy yet? Fansubbers awaiting the Blu Ray release on June 26th. You can pre order from Amazon Japan but it has no English subs. The 3 disc deluxe version is the best with the really nice extras. About $75USD.

Good luck in your search for info. I was looking at the History of anime fansubbing and the info online is scarce. With the problems with copyright holders many of the old time subbers won't come forward to talk about things even in a general way. So now with even more threat of legal problems, the ...

Actually, I see a lot more movies and TV series fansubbed into European languages (Russian, Czech, etc.),as well as French, German, Hindi, Turkish, etc. than anything else. Depends on whether the fansubber is doing anything popular or else has the capability to get the subs done in their language. I...

Does your DVD player not accept avi or mkv files with subs? That way you no longer need to convert anything. But yeah, ConvertX is the easiest way to go or else AVStoDVD is good as well...

Torrents vs. Fileshare. Which one you use and why?

Can't understand the use of torrents. No safety (they are tracking you you know) and generally slow speeds and half the time I can't find what I'm looking for anyway or else the torrent is gone or has only a few seeders so you have to take weeks or months to get what you want. I used to use Usenet a...

'Battleship Yamato' has already been screened in Chicago and was rated pretty high I think. It is ready to show in Japan. this is a manga and one that Kimura loved when he was young and he always kept up with reading it. It must have been a blast for him to play a role in this favourite. This film ...

Preferred playback device for your media

For video it's Blu Ray. Mine are special players that will play discs from other countries as well as DivX, Xvid, MKV, WMV, etc. Not many players will do that unless you start to use media players from Western Digital, etc. This is also nice to use since cost was a factor. The players typically cost...

Hmmm...is that 6 MegaByte or 6 Megabit? Some places for speed tests use one or the other. I have a connection of about 800 KiloBytes/second (about 6.4 Megabits/sec.) which is pretty average. I could go with cable but though I have a faster download speed, I do not have unlimited downloads which is w...

Many episodes of Yonimo Kimyo na Monogatari deal with time travel or altering events so that the person involved is living a different life. One episode dealt with a boy who could stop time altogether. I do have direct download links. If you want them, just PM me.

Yeah, well, old habits die hard. Most of the transplanted Chinese like University students in my town have married Chinese girls so they have someone who can speak their language. Multi-generational Chinese (the Chinese have been in my country for over 150 years) don't seem to care. One of my oldest...

Eat, drink and make merry! As you get older I do wonder what a lot of people are thinking? That they are going to stave off death? Nah! Keep yourself young? Nah! You can't fight aging at all. Biggest problem is things that will strike you down out of the blue...accidents, weird diseases, just plain ...

I turned 54 this past August. Bad birthday if you are in Nagasaki, where my oldest contact is since it's on August 9th. And yet, I'm the baby when it comes to the majority of my SF and Comics fan friends around the world. Many are far older than I. So, when I see a "how old are you" poll stop at 21,...
