Re: Comparing Options for Watching Japanese TV from Overseas
They have a certain bandwith to broadcast theirs channels.pato wrote:I know but what i mean is why the ihome company doesn't make one offering more channels.
When you increase the number of channels with the same bandwith you must reduce the quality/service.
Simple as that.

Re: Comparing Options for Watching Japanese TV from Overseas
Sure, it depends on the profile used with the x264 compression and how powerfull is the box to decode it. But, appart from this, another important critera is the number of servers they have and where they are located to provide the best service. It is very difficult to have accurate information from...

Re: Comparing Options for Watching Japanese TV from Overseas
IHome requires a minimum of 4mbps, Hikari 3mbps.
Hence, I suppose Hikari image quality is lower.

There's a new video on YouTube that might help: it showcases the iHome II's new UI and gives you a pretty good idea of the video quality. Just do a search on: "freesuntv ihome ii" and watch the vid titled "Ihome II Japanese iptv box with 72 live channels", dated May 25, 2015. Do...

Re: Comparing Options for Watching Japanese TV from Overseas
But the image quality is it really worst, i mean is there a really big difference between iHome and iHome 2? Really depends on the size of the display you're using and the content you're watching. For me, even IHome is not great with action movies on a 40 inches screen because of the macroblocks ap...

Re: Comparing Options for Watching Japanese TV from Overseas
Question for other iHome users. I've had the iHome for a few months now and I'm absolutely loving it except sometimes the stream will freeze and the box will simply just turn off. I don't know if this problem is specific to my box or others have experienced a similar issue. It's not that often so i...

I formatted the iHome sdcard and put it back empty in the slot.
I confirm that the iHome works well and recreate the needed file.
Also, seems working a bit faster.

Re: Comparing Options for Watching Japanese TV from Overseas
Those of you using iHome, is there a wiki or instructable or some other single source to explain it? I've read the various posts here, but it seems quite complex and hard to follow. And are there any absolute Do Nots? I don't see how hard is the iHome. The attached manual explains what you need to ...
