why the remake? Coz AKB48 is widely popular in Japan now :)) To be honest, even though I don't like her, Maki is a reasonably good actress and you just cannot compare acting skill of an idol with an actress :D (And NO ONE can be compared with the almighty Oguri Shun and the a-dork-able Ikuta Toma :p)
