What is better to do when it comes to batches. Just have the episodes of the drama, or have all episodes, OST and PV (other extras)? I was thinking just the episodes, since it's more likely people will save just the episodes and therefore the would be higher chance for it to be re-seeded. My person...

Re: Searching for original uploaders at DA

I have found that many of the original uploaders are no longer active, or just don't care about replying. Unless you want to, I don't think you are required to do more effort tracking down the uploaders than sending them a message. This is what the FAQ says anyway 1. batch creator (BC) should send a...

^^ I would say it is better to seed the whole batch at once, I believe that way you will also have more uploaders sticking around helping to seed it. Yea it would be great if a batches were always uploaded once a series is finished. It's much more convenient, and doesn't dry out as fast as single ep...

fly_main you earn points for every minute you keep torrents running. So I'm guessing that means you got banned for inactivity or because you didn't keep torrents running long enough. Also keep in mind that if someone re-invites a person who got banned, the invitee and everyone he has invited gets ba...

^^ Yea that's it basically. A small seedbox account is mainly for seeding or maintaining a good upload ratio. Reaching 200:1 ratios even with 10GB sized torrents can be done in a couple of days. Also for seeding/uploading a torrent, you would only have to upload the files once to the seedbox, and th...

It's basically a server that downloads and seeds torrents for you, usually at ridiculously high speeds (the one I use for example reaches 2MB/s upload at worst). But it is not free, the cheapest services cost about $10/month.. But for me it is worth it, really convenient, and I don't have to keep my...

Huh that's strange, it's not like we can buy the series with english subtitles even if we wanted to (if not counting the unlicensed chinese bootlegs that is). Oh well the music industry loves copyright witch-hunts.

The English translations on these unlicensed/bootleg Malaysian DVD's range from poor to okay. Also be aware that the video quality is often worse than RAW's you can download here. Anyway the English subtitles are good enough to understand the main plot. But the dialogue is oversimplified, and lots o...

Recommend me a good unicode font.

I need a unicode font with full support for extended latin and Japanese characters. It needs to be easy to read from a distance as is (without adding outlines and shadows).

The font I currently use is "Arial Unicode MS", but it is too thin for my taste :)

I think they should be encoded down to approx 500-600MB per 720p episode, assuming an efficient codec is used I think that should be sufficient. When it comes to movies I see the need for higher bitrates but for TV series storage becomes quickly an issue with 1GB+/episode files :) Uhh... that will ...

Well I don't think playback performance is really an issue, even current low spec systems are capable of decoding 720p. I always download HD versions if available, the problem is just the file sizes. I think they should be encoded down to approx 500-600MB per 720p episode, assuming an efficient code...

Thanks for the advice you two :), aspect ratios always manage to confuse me . Yea I realized that my original plan was flawed anyway, as the full 720 width is not usually used (there appears to be a few pixels of black or garbage on the sides on DVD's). So for a typical NTSC widescreen movi...

Aspect ratios, correct true resolution to crop 1.66:1 DVD's?

I'm in the process of converting several movies from DVD to MKV (x256+AC3). The goal is to not loose much quality in the process, as these are meant to be for archival. Using anamorphic encodings, I have cropped movies so far according to the following table: 1.33:1 720 x 480 (4:3) 1.77:1 720 x 480 ...

I know it should be theoretically possible, but can you really do it in practice with a moderate amount of money?, and if so what kind of equipment would I need?.
