hmmm...if this is really japanese characters...ansi encoding shouldn't be supporting it...you are opening this up in notepad right and not some other program. there is no way to convert a dvdlab pro project to dvdauthor gui project from all that I google on dvdlab pro...it seems to be english centri...

dvd lab pro doesn't support any subtitles other than english type language.. Basically, if you want to know if dvd lab pro support your file or not. save your file in notepad as an ansi encoded file. If you open it up again in notepad and it doesn't display gibberish, then dvdlab pro supports it. yo...

I didn't vote but I prefer both as well.... with hardsubs you can display it prettier etc and have nicer fonts...but it's such a pain in the rear if you came online a month late and couldn't download the series... with softsubs...i can make removable subtitles from the DVD i own and enjoy it in true...

I noticed alot of the chinese raws are being released in RMVB format. And alot of people don't know how to get the subtitles in a format that can be used in Real Player.
